JOB DESCRIPTION: HEAD - MINE PLANNING

Basic Information & Job Purpose

Job Title: Head - Mine Planning, Iron Ore Odisha


Reports To: Head - Technical Services, Iron Ore Odisha
Division/Department: Technical Services

Role Summary

To ensure smooth running of mining operations and aligned activities across the business
units, in an economical way by optimizing mining designs for monthly/annual/long term
for safe mining operation and further enhance operations by automation and
benchmarked practices that are cost, quality & safety centric within the allocated budget.

Key Accountabilities

▪ Responsible for preparation of short term, midterm & long-term mining plans
ensuring optimum utilization of resources, optimize cost & quality.
▪ Monitor and carry out systematic and scientific implementation of the mining
plans on monthly, quarterly and annual plans by coordinating with operation team
and achieve business plan targets.
▪ Ensure statutory approvals, inspection and certification from government
authorities pertaining to mine operations.
▪ Dumping, stockpiling, stacking area, infrastructure planning and optimization of
space.
▪ Identify bottlenecks and plan out the new initiatives and focus areas.
▪ Responsible for preparation of technical scope related various projects.
▪ Ensure adherence to Vedanta Safety Standards and Environmental Norms.
▪ Support identifies existing issues and possible improvements in mining operations
to enable a risk-free and safe environment for ore extraction.

Qualification and Knowledge

B.E./[Link]. in Mining or [Link]. in Geology with 10+ years of experience. Hands on


experience of SURPAC, Whittle and AutoCAD software.
