Guidelines and Criteria for Judging of Literary, Musical, Dance Contest
Mass Field Demonstration
1. The participants of the Mass Field Demonstration event has no minimum and maximum numbers.
2. Only those who are bonafide learners of a particular grade level is allowed to join the grade level’s entry.
3. The music shall be a remix of different songs. The performance should not be less than 4 minutes and
should not exceed 7 minutes including the entrance and exit.
4. Restarting of performance is prohibited except for technical difficulties and errors from the operator’s part.
5. The appearance of flag bearers, captain balls, and best muses, are strictly prohibited during the
performance.
6. Trainers,and grade level advisers are allowed to coach during the entrance only. After that, no interventions
from the trainers and grade level advisers are allowed.

Oration English
1. The participating contestant, either male or female, must be a bonafide learner of the grade level he/she is
representing.
2. The oration piece must cover a certain social issue that shall be expounded in the speech.
3. The oration piece must be in English Language.
4. The oratorical speech’s minimum and maximum time limit is 4 to 8 minutes respectively. Five (5) points
shall be deducted to the total score of the grade level entry per ten (10) seconds shortage or overtime. The
timer shall start after the contestant utter the first word of his/her piece and shall stop when the orator take a
bow or exit the stage.
5. The dress code for oratorical speech contest is Formal Attire for female and male.

Oration Filipino
1. The participating contestant, either male or female, must be a bonafide learner of the grade level he/she is
representing.

Declamation English
1. The participating contestant, either male or female, must be a bonafide learner of the grade level he/she is
representing.
2. The performance must follow the elements of a dramatic speech.
3. The declamation piece must be in English Language.
4. The declaimer is only allowed to utilize the area of the stage. Going beyond is not allowed.

2. Only instrumental accompaniment, either live or minus-one, is allowed. The use of backing vocals, either
recorded or live, may it be recorded from the contestant or other party, is strictly prohibited.
3. Restarting of performance is prohibited except for technical difficulties and errors from the operator’s part.

Balitaw
1. The participating contestants, one male and one female, must both be bonafide learners of the grade level
they are representing.
2. Only instrumental accompaniment is allowed, either live or minus-one, is allowed. The use of backing
vocals, either recorded or live, may it be recorded from the contestant or other party, is strictly prohibited.
3. The song choice must abide by this definition provided by [Link]: “Balitaw, a traditional Visayan
folk song, is characterized by witty lyrics, playful melodies, and complex vocal patterns. These distinctive
features convey history, myths, and social commentary through masterful storytelling.”
4. Restarting of performance is prohibited except for technical difficulties and errors from the operator’s part.

Modern Dance
1. The minimum and maximum participants for Modern Dance is 7 to 9 respectively.
2. The dance duration must be 5 to 7 minutes inclusive of the entrance and exit. Five (5) points shall be
deducted to the total score of the grade level entry per ten (10) seconds shortage or overtime. The timer shall
start at the first beat of the entry’s music and shall stop when the performers exit the dance floor.
3. Only bonafide learners of a particular grade level are allowed to participate in the grade level’s entry.
4. Criteria for judging are itemized as shown in the table:

Speech Choir
1. The minimum and maximum participants is 25 to 30 respectively.
2. Props personnel, drummers, and other personnel not included in the choir are not included in the
participants count.
3. Only bonafide learners of a particular grade level are allowed to participate in the grade level’s entry.
4. The piece must be in English language.
5. Exclusive of the entrance , the speech choir’s minimum and maximum time limit is 5 to 8 minutes
respectively. Five (5) points shall be deducted to the total score of the grade level entry per ten (10) seconds
shortage or overtime. The timer shall start after the choir utter the first word of their piece and shall stop
when the participants take a bow or any gestures signaling the end of their performance..

Folk Dance
1. The music and dance must be an authentic Filipino Folk Dance recognized by the National Commission for
the Culture and the Arts.
2. The minimum and maximum participants for Folk Dance is 6 to 8 pairs respectively.
3. Only bonafide learners of a particular grade level are allowed to participate in the grade level’s entry.

Ballroom Dance
1. The choreography can be composed of different ballroom dances from the Latin Style and
Modern/American Standard Style.
2. The grade level entry must be composed of four (4) pairs.
3. Only bonafide learners of a particular grade level are allowed to participate in the grade level’s entry.
4. Inclusive of the entrance and exit, the minimum and maximum performance length is 5 to 7 minutes
respectively.

Extemporaneous Speech
1. The participating contestant, either male or female, must be a bonafide learner of the grade level he/she is
representing.
2. The contestant must draw a question prepared by the LitMusDa Committee.
3. The style of the delivery shall be conversational, oratorical or a combination of both. Dramatic style is
considered disqualified.
4. The dress code for Extemporaneous Speech is the prescribed school uniform.
5. The used of sound effects, and props is disallowed.
