JULY EDITION 2024-25
It was a moment of elation to welcome our beloved students back
after the summer break ! To mark the occasion, a special assembly
was held to set the tone for the remainder of the session. It was
characterized by eager anticipation, learning, and personal growth.
Later, the students participated in reopening day activities, including
engaging quizzing sessions and various team-building exercises.
FOUNDER'S DAY CELEBRATIONS
DCM Group of Schools is a prestigious name in the field of quality education, with the story
of its illustrious legacy dating back to 1946, since its inception under the farsighted vision and
relentless efforts of Late Sh. M.R. Dass. During the past 77 years, the group has dedicated
itself to instilling the very best in quality education ensuring that students shine in every
walk of life. On this day, students and staff of DCM Presidency School paid homage to
Late Sh. MR Dass on his 109 birth anniversary. As a mark of respect, a two minute silence
was observed during the morning assembly and the students took the pledge rededicating
themselves to work with sincerity to live up to the school’s motto of "Where excellence begins.”
Later, in order to align ecological conservation with the mission of community service as
well as to nurture well rounded individuals, the school organised a tree plantation drive, during
which more than 120 members of the Green Crusaders Club enthusiastically planted saplings
in the Rajiv Gandhi Colony nearby.

"Empowering the next generation of leaders!
Priyani Lekhi, Tanishka Sharma, Kudrat Thakkar, and
Parthiv Sharma of Grade XII attended a transformative
11-day National Camp organized by the Entrepreneurship
Development Institute of India (EDII) in Gandhinagar.
This life shaping experience equipped them with invaluable
insights into entrepreneurship, marketing strategies,
effective communication, leadership skills, ideation, and
start-ups. The camp was a pivotal moment in their journey
as a student, providing essential skills for success. During
their stay there Priyani Lekhi was awarded the coveted
"Student of the Camp" award. Congratulations to Priyani
on her achievement and the entire team for on their
participation and dedication towards entrepreneurial
growth!
Bonn Industries organized a drawing
competition for students of Classes
III to VIII. During the contest, our
students showcased their exceptional
artistic skills and creativity. Kudos to
the winners and all participants for
their outstanding efforts.

Chinmay Mittal of Grade III bagged a Certificate and Medal for Zonal Excellence in the
International Mathematics Olympiad (SOF 2023-24). He also won a gift voucher. Other
students of Grade III were felicitated with Certificates of Excellence at the zonal level
in the IMO too.
In another proud moment, budding space enthusiasts of DCM Presidency School
brought laurels in the National Astronomy Challenge. Congratulations to the Gold
Medal winners.

Event Spotlight
DECORUS, an Annual Inter-School Art & Craft Festival, is a vibrant celebration of talent, imagination,
and skill. We witnessed a synchronized confidence of colors, ideas, and inspiration, as students from
17 schools across the city came together to showcase their artistic prowess. From Mix Media Art to
Caricatures, and from Monochromatic painting to Ikebana, the creativity on display was truly
breathtaking. The young artists pushed boundaries, explored new themes, and expressed themselves
with remarkable flair.

EDUCATOR ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME
A professional development session, focusing on 'Supporting Students' Transition: School to College
and Beyond, ' was held for teachers. Dr. Rupa Murghai, the resource person, shared valuable insights
and practical tips to guide students through the critical phase as they make a transition from school to
college (and beyond). The session was highly productive, with teachers finding it a truly enriching
experience.

The school hosted a thought-provoking session on 'Global Generation' led by Ms. Aishwarya
Chouhan, an expert in the field. Students acquired valuable skills in addressing global issues,
connecting with peers worldwide, and engaging in effective cross-cultural communication.

Activities Galore
The students from Class VI to VIII organized a special assembly to commemorate the National Day of
France. The informative and engaging program included poem recitation done with passion and flair,
confident speech delivery and an impressive dance performance. The assembly was a wonderful
showcase of our students' creativity, talent, and knowledge. They took us on a journey across French
history, culture, and traditions, highlighting the significance of this special day
Fancy Dress competition was organized for Class III students as part of the 'French Week Celebration',
creating a memorable celebration of French culture and language. Through their remarkable costumes
and engaging presentations, the students displayed awareness of their knowledge and appreciation of
the rich history and traditions associated with France. The event not only strengthened their language
skills but also fostered a sense of global citizenship, promoting cultural understanding and unity among
the participants.

Sports Highlights
Inter-House Chess Competition was organized for students of
grades VI to X. In the Girls' category, Pavi Surekha and Yashmita
of Red Raiders bagged the first position, while Gia Riat and
Bani Kaur of Blue Bravos secured the second position, and
Divyanshi Aggarwal and Arshnoor Kaur of Green Gems secured
the third position. In the Boys' Category, Teg Fateh Singh, Kritagya
Singh, and Taranjyot Singh of Green Gems secured the first
position, while Munish Gupta and Shiven Singla of Blue Bravos
secured the second position, and the third position was secured
by Darsh Garg and Rachit Sareen of Red Raiders. Congratulations
to all the winners and participants from the four houses! Their critical
thinking and problem-solving ability is worth lauding.
