NOTIFICATION
No. 1243-F(P), the 2nd March, 2016. - In exerci e of the power conferred by the
proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India, th I Governor is pleased hereby to
make, with immediate effect, the following amendme t in the West Bengal Services
(Compulsory Requirement of Knowledge in Bengali for Recruitment to any post or
Service) Rules, 2002, issued with this Department notifi ation No. 10725-F, dated the 13th
November, 2002 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules
Amendment
In the said rules, in rule 2, for the proviso, subs tit le the following proviso.-
"Provided that the said compulsory require ent of knowledge in Bengali
including the ability to read, write and speak in Benga i, for recruitment to any post or
Service under the State Government, shall not be appl cable to those candidates whose
mother tongue is Nepali.".
