(i) Show that (x-1) is a factor of x3 – 7x2 + 14x – 8. Hence, completely factorise
the above expression.

(ii) Mr. Gupta opened a recurring deposit account in a bank. He deposits `2500
per month for 2 years. If he gets `67500 at the time of maturity , find (a) the
interest paid by the bank (b) rate of interest per annum

(iii) Find the mean of the following distribution by assumed mean method

altitude of the triangle through C.

(iii) The surface area of a solid metallic sphere is 616cm2. It is melted and recast
into smaller spheres of diameter 3.5cm. How many such spheres can be
obtained?

(i) Five years ago, a woman’s age was the square of her son’s age. Ten years
hence her age will be twice of her son’s age. Find:-
(a)The age of the son five years ago (b) The present age of the woman.

(ii))Find the sum of integers between 100 and 200 divisible by 9.

(iii)Use only ruler and a pair of compasses for the following. Construct a ∆ABC
in which AB=5.5 cm ABC = 75 and CA=7cm. (a)Draw the locus of a point which
moves so that it is always 2.5 cm from B. (b)Draw the locus of a point which
moves so that it is equidistant from the sides BC and CA (c) Mark the points of
intersection of the loci as P and P  . Measure PC and PC .

(i)The line segment joining A(2,3) and B(6,-5) is intercepted by the X axis at the
point K. Write the ordinate of the point K. Hence find the ratio in which K
divides AB.

(ii) In the figure given below, PT is a


tangent to the circle. Find PT
if AT = 16 cm and AB=12 cm.

(iii) Using a ruler, construct a triangle ABC with BC = 6.4 cm, CA = 5.8 cm and
<ABC = 60° Draw its incircle. Measure and record the radius of the incircle.

iii) From the top of a hill, the angles of depression of two consecutive kilometer
stones, due east are found to be 30° and 45° respectively. Find the distance of
the two stones from the foot of the hill.
