Hey, what's up! | just got back from
sunny Seattle, Washington. | tell ya, it’s a
nice change of pace from New York. | went
to go visit Todd McFarlane and Rob Liefeld,
as you can see | think they really like me.
|also found one of the Zaretskys and
he had a couple of corporate box seats to
Van Halen. Needless to say it was a great
concert.
| hope you enjoy the Simonsons
interview. We had some fun with it. We
spent the aftemoon with Walt and Louise,
and | must admit, they're very nice and
down to earth. We took some great
pictures. It was funny to see their comic
collection. It was arranged in a bookshelf,
like the comics were in a library. It was just a
weird way of looking at comics (not in bags
or boxes).
The Spider-Man movie is finally a go-
er, James Cameron and I.L.M. will bring the
web slinger to life sometime in ‘93. I’ve
already sent in my resume to play Peter
Parker. | won‘t accept the part unless |
know who's playing Mary Jane.
Now back to the Wizard Head-
quarters to hang up all my new Toy Biz
figures that | stole from Brian Cunningham.

which the Surfer was plagued by such menaces
as the mysterious Stranger, the demon lord
Mephisto and the cunning Dr. Doom, who even
managed to steal the Surfer's power for a time.
But amidst all the danger, the Surfer also made
some friends. He teamed with Dr. Strange, the
Hulk and The Sub-Mariner and foughtas one of,
the Defenders. He allied himself with the Mighty
Thorand the Avengers and, ofcourse, hestayed
very close with the Fantastic Four.
Even though he had made these friends thathe
cared so much about, the Surfer longed to be
free and to ride the spaceways once more. And
finally, thanks to Reed Richards of the Fantastic
Four, the Surfer got his wish. Using some high
tech gadgets and good ol’ brainpower, the bar-
rier was breached and the Surfer was free to
roam the cosmos once again. .
Since then, he has made his peace with his
former master, Galactus, was re-united with his
first love, Shalla-Bal, and has confronted and
triumphed over such antagonists as Ego the
living planet, the mad god Thanos and the inner
demons which hadso long plaguedhis soul. And
through it al, the Surfer has continued to shine
as one of Marvel's brightest stars! ©SILVER GAUNTLETS

the other day about how
many times Galactus has
come down to Earth,
threatening to devour our

Galactus, being an

the Surfer on the Earth for

Galactus is a spoiled little rich
kid, who could not possibly
support his own great mass, let
alone that huge suit of armor. |

he’d = have ~— to

(though not
much). So:
#1, Grav-

speaking, how
could he support
his own weight, and #2,
wouldn't the armor just get too

Thanks for waiting. | dug up
my dee-lux copy of the Official
Handbook to the Marvel
Universe, and I'm presently
looking at the “Galactus”
entry. | stand corrected that
the big guy is not 40 stories
tall (he’s really only 28 feet, 9
inches), and weighing in as
he does at 18.2 tons, he is
slightly lighter than Mr. Burr.
