Embroider the nose with a needle in the 5th row.
Insert the eyes between rows 4 and 5, leaving 4 single crochet stitches
between them.
Sew the head to the hat, then attach it to the body.

Use White yarn:


Piece 1: Chain 5, 5 HDC in the 3rd chain from the hook, 1 sc in the 1st
chain (1 piece)
Piece 2: Chain 9, 5 HDC in the 7th chain from the hook, 1 sc in the 5th
chain, 5 HDC in the 3rd chain, 1 sc in the 1st chain (2 pieces)
Piece 3: Chain 13, 5 HDC in the 11th chain from the hook, 1 sc in the
9th chain, 5 HDC in the 7th chain, 1 sc in the 5th chain, 5 HDC in the
3rd chain, 1 sc in the 1st chain (1 piece)
Sew the pieces on top of each other from the front side.
Layer the pieces as follows: 3-piece at the bottom, 2-piece on top of 3-
piece, and 1-piece on top of 2-piece. (See PICTURE 1)
Sew under the nose, at the 5th row.

Use White yarn & 2.5mm crochet hook:
Row 1: Make 6 sc in MR (6)
Row 2: 6 increases (1 inc in each stitch around) (12)
Use white and red yarn:
Continue crocheting the following rows in 2 colors (12 sc per row).
Alternate colors: 3 sc (Red), 3 sc (White), 3 sc (Red), 3 sc (White) (12
sc total).
Shift the color pattern by 1 stitch in each new row.
Crochet 35 rows in total.
Stuff with fiber as you go.
Final row: 6 decreases (6)
After finishing, insert floral wire inside and bend it to create the candy
cane shape.

Body: Be careful when changing from red to white yarn.


Make sure to switch colors cleanly by pulling the new yarn
through on the last stitch of the previous color.

Beards & Mustache: When layering the beard and


mustache pieces, follow the order carefully:
3-piece at the bottom
2-piece on top of 3-piece
1-piece on top of 2-piece
Lower Cover: After completing the lower cover, make sure
the edges line up evenly with Row 12 of the body before
sewing.
