A. Background information for learners.
This lesson aims to demonstrate an understanding of the clientele and audiences of counseling
profession from different settings. It also includes the processes, methods and tools in counseling.
Analyze how processes and applications of these applied disciplines work in specific life situations.
This lesson highlights the basic concepts of social work, its definition, scope, goals, and principles.
It also introduces the roles and functions of social workers, areas of specialization, the right,
responsibilities, and accountabilities of social workers.
