ASSIGNMENT: Building and Architecture with surrounding Landscape Design

1.0 Question

Select one local architecture style/era in sub-topic 3.0 below. With the support
of drawings and images, describe the architecture/style/era of well-
known/famous buildings during that era that related to the topic. Explain its
identity, technology, materials used and the uniqueness of the architecture.
What is the influence/chronology (culture, religion, belief, power, and wealth) of
architecture on their designs, forms, and structures? Explain the specific/new
vocabulary of the architecture and building design, and their surrounding areas.

2.0 Objectives

After completing this assignment, you should be able:

2.1 Apply the knowledge and demonstrate understanding of the development


of architecture from the earliest civilization till the present to the future as
visual arts.
2.2 Recommend solutions on architectural ideas, technology, and construction
development issues in the built environment.

4.0 Essay and presentation

4.1 The contents of the report and presentation include:


i. Introduction,
ii. Explanation of the architectural era supported with well-known
buildings,
iii. Explain the name of the buildings and its function present
and past,
iv. Age of the buildings,
v. The architect or designer,

vi. Construction types,
vii. The place of the buildings is located, and
viii. New vocabularies related to the architecture and
building elements/spaces

4.2 Essay/report should be around 10,000 words


i. A4 size
ii. Font size 12 and at least 1.5 - line spacing
iii. All pictures, figures, and statements found from any
references must be coded properly.

4.3 Seminar using PowerPoint/Canva/video is around 15 minutes and 5


minutes for questions and answers.

5.0 Assessment

Report 50%
Presentation 10%
Total 60%
