HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
History of Provincial Equipment Pool Office
The Provincial Equipment Pool Office (PEPO) was a newly created department
by the Provincial Government, Enacted and Approved by SP Resolution No. 048-2012
dated February 27, 2012 during the Previous Administration of honorable Joseph C. Cua,
way back in year 2012.
The PEPO today, was previously a defunct Motor pool Division under its mother
unit which was the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO). Now the PEPO was Operating
as a separate department headed by an effective and efficient Mechanical Engineer and
no longer by a Civil Engineer.
The main purpose of separation from PEO and upgrading as PEO was to
unburden the duties, responsibilities, and function of the PEO so that if could concentrate
more on surveying, planning, programming, construction and maintenance of roads and
other infra projects hence giving the PEPO to operate, function, and pursue its goals,
objective, for further improvements and maximize work output and revenue generation,
thereby making the PEPO self-sustaining.
As such, the newly Heavy Equipment to be procured will be utilized for
Equipment Rentals to private contractor and private individuals; however, the old
equipment will be dispatch for regular year-round provincial road maintenance activities
of the PEO, other requesting LGU's, and social services functioning the province.
This undertaking would most likely need the endorsement of the SP (Sangguniang
Panlalawigan) by giving authority to the Honorable Governor to purchase the various
2
heavy equipment essential for the best performance and operation of the PEPO, thereby
benefiting the constituents of an efficient and effective service.

CHAPTER 2
INTRODUCTION
On-the-job Training is part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient
students about the work and their future career. It is a type of skill development where a
worker learns how to do the work through hands-on experience. On the Job Training is
one method by which students are exposed with different work situation designed to give
students an opportunity to experience and a chance to apply the theories and computation
that they have learned from the school. It also helps the students to acquire relevant
knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting.
OJT is very important not only to teach students regarding their chosen career but
also to show students the reality about working. The students will be exposed to the
actual work related to the course that they are taking. It also allows those with no
experience to work and to learn at the same time. On-the-Job Training helps the trainee to
learn more about his chosen field and practice what he has learned from the school. It
helps in the building up of the trainee’s competence. Of course, when a student is
competent enough, he will be able to do things successfully and. This training develops
one’s professionalism in dealing with people. After the training, the trainee will be able to
handle situations properly and he’ll be able to know how to socialize well with his
colleagues. He will also be able to work well with everyone and he’ll have a good
teamwork. OJT also enhances the critical thinking abilities and discipline of the student
conducting his training in a company. His ability to make sound decisions and evaluate
pertinent factors will be improved.
10
Having a proper On-the-Job Training helps in the preparation of future
professionals for their future jobs. What the students learned in their On-the-Job Training,
even the little things, can be applied when they are already working. Students will be
trained not only academically but socially as well. The way they work and communicate
with others will not be a problem for them anymore. It also gives the trainee the chance to
immerse himself in his chosen field and experience
For us student's, an OJT provide opportunity to go through the actual
methodologies of a specific job using the real took, equipment, and documents, in effect
the workplaces become a development venue for us student's trainee to learn more about
our chosen field and practice what we have learn from school.
On-The-Job Training simply means training for students to complete a task or
function when they are already placed and working, the more complex businesses get, the
more their mangers will see the benefits of on the job training. This type of training can
help students to become more familiar with that realities of working, in some cases, on-
the-job training my lead to stable and fulfilling career...In some cases, these work skills
will be counted as credits towards a school diploma.
According On-The-Job Trainees can truly he beneficial not only to be Trainees
but also to the companies that provide opportunities for this type of learning. Such
training can be investment that we will be valuable to the company later on. This is also
why we Trainees should take our internship seriously as it can become a powerful tool
and possibly even a source of recommendation when they take that big lift from being
student to career professionals.

SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Internship or On the job training serve as a great tool to help those who are in
college students to gain experience in a certain field that the students have interest in
internship give the student an opportunity to work in professional setting and eventually
go into that professional field with their new skills, knowledge and experiences.
Internships will help you prepare for the professional of work when the moment
comes to move forward happens in your life. Internships can range from a variety of
different things. The internships could either be paid, unpaid, and the length of the
internship can range from many different timeframes as well.
I had the amazing opportunity to do an internship with PEPO it is a construction
firm company that I gained so much new skills, knowledge and experiences. Personnel
there are very accommodating they want us to learn a lot and experience such things
related to our field that we are walking. I was able to complete my internship within 600
hours or 75 days to be exact.
19
EVALUATION OF EXPERIENCES
Whenever the Chief Mechanic or even other personnel asked me to assist them, I
feel happy and excited because I know that I can able to experience those hands-on
experience related to my field. Excited of gaining a lot of new skills and knowledge that
can be useful in the future whenever I am going to work base on my finished degree.
I learned through experience how to interact and communicate with different
people, knowing how to handle and tackle different issues of the auto and trucks. The
whole experience of going to internships is very fulfilling to my heart.
