Pre-Requisites if Any: Basic Understanding of MS-EXCEL
Unit 1: Introduction to MS EXCEL: Students would be able to understand the difference
between workbook and work sheet along with merging and unmerging of cells. Half
understanding of the subject takes places the moment a student understands the different
elements present in menu and ribbon. Entering and revising data; working with the copy
paste function. Managing data using flash fill; Finding and replacing data
Unit 2: Referencing and Logical Functions: Relative and Absolute Referencing, Concatenate;
Len, If-AND-OR function, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX, NESTED IF Understanding
the logic behind the working of excel is the core of the subject. If function along with Match, Index
and V-Lookup adds to the beauty of data understanding.
Unit 3: Statistical & Mathematical Functions: Sum; sumif; sumifs, count; counta, countif;
countifs, subtotal; sumproduct; sumx2; sumxpy2; sumx2my2; Average, Stdev.p; Stedev.S, Quartiles,
Covariance, Correl are few areas which needs to be explored along with Statistics which is one area
which needs to be understood by heart. Decision making is wholly based upon the understanding of
the subject Statistics along with Mathematics. Hands on of this subject will built the platform for
advance learning. Following topics will be covered in this area to make the subject more fruitful with
zero error. Some of the important functions will be Creating Name Ranges, Indexing and Name
Manager; new functions: MAXIFS, MINIFS, XLOOKUP.
Capstone project: Build upon knowledge gained through the earlier hands-on exercises and
apply it to a final capstone project that pulls together the wide range of topics the program
