Fake Image Detection for Cybersecurity
Abstract
In the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity, the ability to detect and prevent fake
images, such as deepfakes and photoshopped media, has become crucial in safeguarding
digital environments. Fake images, often used in cyber attacks, misinformation campaigns,
and identity theft, pose significant threats to data integrity and security. This project
explores the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques,
specifically Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Generative Adversarial Networks
(GANs), for the detection of fake images in cybersecurity contexts. By leveraging large
datasets of real and manipulated images, the system aims to improve the accuracy and
reliability of image detection models. The project also investigates the integration of these
detection models into cybersecurity frameworks to protect against emerging threats. The
proposed system offers a potential solution to the growing challenges of image
manipulation, contributing to the broader field of cybersecurity and digital forensics.
