Grade Level: Grade 7 Quarter: 1st

I. Objectives:
 Identify the properties of an element
 Count the number of proton, electron and neutron of some elements

II. Instructional Materials:


 Exploring Life Through Science pp.

III. Motivation/Strategies:
 Let the students observe the periodic table
 Ask the students about the reason on why they think there are many elements

IV. Lesson Proper:


 Relate the activity with elements and atoms
 Let the students observe the parts of an atom
 Let the students observe the part of the atomic symbol in the periodic table
 Discuss to the students how to count proton, neutron and electron in an atom
 Let the students answer their LAS
 Let the students check their LAS.

V. Closure/Synthesis:
 Let the students appreciate the importance of some elements in the periodic
table like carbon, hydrogen, sodium, chlorine in our daily lives
