1) Read the poem “A Tiger in the Zoo” by Leslie Norris and attempt the
following questions:

 Are zoos necessary for the protection and conservation of some species of
animals? Are there any alternatives to zoos? Word Count 200-250 words
 Imagine you are the tiger and describe a typical day in the life of zoo
animals. Share the tiger’s perspective discussing how it feels being caged
and gazed upon by people. Word Count 200-250 words

2) Watch the movie “ The Lord Of The Rings-Fellowship of the Ring"

Analyze the character of Frodo Baggins. Do you think he will be able to
accomplish the given task? What problems will he face on his journey?
Word Count 200-250 words.

OR
Watch “The Chronicles of Narnia” and analyze the character of the white
witch. Word Count 150-200 words

3) Imagine you have time travelled back to the Elizabethan era where you

meet Shakespeare and other characters including Petruchio and Katharine.

Write an interesting dialogue based on this unique encounter. You may
consider any one of the given situations:
 Request Petruchio to treat Katharine kindly.

 Have a discussion with Shakespeare telling him about the

modern age, the advancements that have been made in terms of
technology and literature. 
4) True friendship is undeniably a blessing. It has the power to brighten even
the darkest days of one’s life. Pen down your thoughts on the importance of
friendship in the form of a Haiku.

magazine.

Read the background of the poem "Extract from Dear Matafele Peinam" on page 109
and 110 of your textbook ' Oxford International Lower Secondary English Student
Book 3 for grade VIII'.
Look online for the video presentation at the UN Climate Summit and watch the full
performance. Compose a response in the form of a News report of 250-350 words to
Kathy Jetnil Kijiner and her delegation from the Marshal Islands.

Read the extract ' A Superior Robot' on page 116,117 and 118 of your textbook
"Oxford International Lower Secondary English Student Book 3 for grade VIII".
Imagine what might happen in the story after the end of the extract. Write three
paragraphs and try to include some of the literary devices used in this section.
