Safety symbol and its position
Please read carefully and obey all description about safety
symbol on the machine, this chapter mainly introduces its position
and diagram description.
Protect these safety symbols properly. If you find the character
or diagram lost, damaged or unclear. Please replace with new one
or get it repaired in time. If altering parts with safety sign, you
should paste relevant symbol on the new part.
While scrubbing the safety symbol, please use cloth and soap
rather than pharmaceutical and oil liquid, etc.

Safety Regulations
● You should often check your health; never operating the
machine when you feel bad or sleepy after taking medicine or
drunk. In this case, a slight negligence will lead to sever
accident to you and the others.

Safety Protection Staffs
Personal protection staffs required are subject to specific
situation when operating or maintaining the grader.
Safety Operations
Get to know the machine
Only the worker authorized is entitled to operate and maintain
the grader.
When operating and making maintenance on the machine,be
familiar with and obey all the safety regulations, notes, and
instructions.
Study the documents attached with the grader, learn the
structure, operation and maintenance, and get acquainted with
their position and function of every button, handle, instrument
and alarm.
Fathom all the regulations and rules of operating, and learn to
use all signals when working.
If some grease or oil has been found on the operator's platform,
it must be cleaned away at once to avoid slipping.
Checks should be done correctly before and after operation,
such as checking whether it is in safe condition to all safety
protection devices, whether it is worn to the tyre and whether it
is normal to the air pressure of tyre. If ignoring oil leakage,
water leakage, deformation, loosening, abnormal noise etc., you
will have the chance to be knocked down by troubles and
serious accidents. So regular checking is necessary.
Lock the grader before leaving from the driver's seat
● The operator must lock the gear lever with lock device, make
the parking brake engaged and put it in brake position which
could prevent accidents from occurring because of touching the

lock device unlocked to make the working device move
● When leaving from the machine, make sure to lower all the
working mechanism down to the ground. And lock the control
handles with locking devices, then shut off the engine and
switch off all the key-switches. Keep the keys safely.
Proceeding to be watchful when using power-reservoir
● The power-reservoir is full of nitrogen gas with high pressure so
there may be risk for using it. Therefore read the following
precaution items before using the power-reservoir.
● The power-reservoir can only be filled with nitrogen gas so it is
not allowed to fill in oxygen, compressed air or other
combustible gas, so as to avoid gas explosion.
● The power-reservoir must be securely fastened on the support
frame. And it is strictly prohibited to fix the power-reservoir by
means of welding,
● Never drill holes on the power-reservoir, and never have the
spark or flame get near the power-reservoir.
● Do not welding any protruding support on the power-reservoir.
● The power-reservoir is of the high-pressure container, so only
the trained and qualified people could carry out replacement and
repair for it. Before dismounting it, drain off the pressure oil and
release off the nitrogen gas by a special tool, then dismount the
components.
● Before rejecting the power-reservoir, it is a must to release the
gas first.
Get on/off the grader
● Check the handrail or ladder before getting on/off the grader, if
grease, lubrication or mud is found, clean away at once.
Moreover, repair worn parts and nail the un-tightened bolt in
time.
● Never jump from or jump to the grader, it is dangerous,
especially when the machine is moving.

● When getting on or off the grader, facing the machine, grasp the
handrail and stepping on footplate (double feet and one hand, or
double hands and one foot) to keep balance.
● When get on or off the grader, never grasp any operating lever.
● Never get into the cab from grader rear, or get off the machine
by the tire beside the cab.
● Never clime up or down the grader when carrying tools or other
articles, to hang them onto the platform by the rope.
Fire fighting
Some inflammable materials, such as fuel, lubricating oil used
by the engine of grader is very dangerous when exposing to smoke
and fire. So pay attention to those as follows:
● Keep easy-burning liquid above-mentioned far away from fire.

When traveling on road
● Having been equipped with working device, the grader will
make some obstacles in your front sight. To pay more attention
to balance of the machine when traveling on road.
● Observe the weather. Situation such as fog, dust with smoke, or
dust with sand will prone to obstacles in vision.
● Make investigations for working site to get information such as
road conditions, hole, obstacles, mud or ice and snow.

● Equipping with first-aid box on the operating site. It is
necessary to check regularly to avoid medicine in shortage.
● Know how to do when fire or injury occur.
● Select and reserve the telephone numbers of some personnel
(such as doctor, first-aid center, fire station,etc.). The telephone
number is stuck in the fixed place to get in touch with them in
emergency, and make sure that all personnel know these
numbers and correct contacting ways

Starting engine
● Before getting on the machine, check if there is anybody on
below or around the machine. If it is the case, let them leave the
machine first before you start the machine.
● If there is OPERATION FORBIDDEN mark labeled on the
control lever, do not start the engine.
● Be seated, adjust the seat to a position where it is easy to carry
out operations and fasten the safety belt.
● Be familiar with the warning signals in the gauges, as well as
the structure of the gauges and the control system.
● Be sure that the hand brake is locked, and the control levers are
all at neutral position.
● Sound the horn as a warning.
Safety traveling
Personal security
● Have a good operation habit, for the case of everybody safety.
● Sound the horn to warn people in the area before traveling
● Be sure there is no person or obstacles around the machine

● During operating the machine, keep your mind concentrated on
working. Don't look around or outside, otherwise incident will
be arising. Attention should be paid to the driving direction and
surrounding people. When danger occurring, sound the horn to
give alarming.
● Obey the traffic rules. Don't cause the traffic jam. And raise
driving speed when passing the rood cross.

● When driving on the road, keep driving on one side of the road.
And leave way for other traffic vehicles and maintain a certain
distance to them.
Sudden braking or accelerating may cause serious hurt!
When traveling, to shift in turn. It is very dangerous to skip
shifts and it’s forbidden to do that.
● Before making turning and reverse for the machine, raise the
ripper.
● When working with the blade not being used, raise the blade.
● It is prohibited to make sudden stop or sudden lowering for
working mechanisms, which, otherwise, will damage the
working mechanism and hydraulic system.

Excessive driving speed is forbidden
● Familiar with the functions of the machine, determine the
traveling speed according to the conditions of the worksite.
Meanwhile, notice the relevant people about the traveling routes
and operation method in advance.
Obstacles:
● In the area with much obstacle staffs, when the machine needs
steering or driving forward make sure not to let the machine
knock against the obstacle staffs.
● Lower the speed when driving or steering in limited areas. Be
sure there is no obstacle around.

● When traveling in the wet or soft ground, take care of the
falling-down of the wheel and the brake performance.
● The mud piled on the ground or the dirt near trenches is loose.
So they maybe collapse down under the machine weight or
machine vibration, which, being as the result, will cause the
machine turn over.
● Avoid driving the machine to the place that near the hung staff
or deep trench. Otherwise there may be the possibility of
machine turning-over or human injury caused by collapsing of
area that due to machine weight or machine vibration.
● When there is a hazard of falling rocks or overturning, start the
Protection devices (ROPS)
Traveling on slopes
● Always travel straight up or down a slope. Traveling at an angle
across the slope is extremely dangerous.
Safety operation
Keep the good customs to operate
● The driver should always sit on the seat, and make sure tighten
the safety belt and the safety device. The grader should always
be in operating condition.
● The driver should operate the handles correctly, and make sure
not to operate the handles by accident.
Safety Parking
● The parking positions of machine should be a ground as flat as
possible And Lower working mechanism down to the ground.
● Do not park on the slope. If you have to park the grader on the
slope, the slope must less than 15%, and you should put the
chock under the wheels for preventing them from slipping, then
lower the working mechanism down to the ground.
● When the grader is in the trouble or has to park at the place
where the traffic is very busy, please set the rail, signal, flag or
alarm light and put the other necessary signal to remind the
other drivers .You should make sure the drivers must look at
your signal clearly, and the rail, flag, signal and alarm light you
set will not jam the traffic.
● When stopping the machine, lower the blade completely onto
the ground stop the engine and pull out stopping-braking switch
to place it being in braking position. Lock machine with the key
and take out the key When getting off the machine, climb down
the machine while facing the machine. Care should be token for
your own safety, and it is not allowed to jump from the
machine.
Precautions items for cold weather
● After working, the driver should clean the snow, ice, water or
mud on the wire, switch, sensor and other ports. If you do not
clean these, it will be froze and have bad effect for your

operation next time.
● Before working you should warm-up the grader adequately. If
you do not do enough work to warm-up the loader, it will
become slow and maybe cause accidents.
● The driver could circle the hydraulic oil to heat it so that the
grader will get ready to work properly. (Get the system pressure
up to rated pressure value, then release the pressure. Afterwards,
return hydraulic oil back to oil tank.)
● If the electrolyte of strong battery is froze, do not recharge it
and do not start the grader with other storage battery. It is very
dangerous and causes the battery get fire.
● If you recharge the battery or use the other battery to start the
grader, you should make sure the electrolyte get melted, and
check out if there is any leakage from it.
Inspection and maintenance
Trouble notification
If the maintenance is not explained in this manual, unexpected
trouble may occur. Please contact with the designated dealers of

CO.,LTD. for repair.
Warning label
● When the operator is maintaining refueling the machine, starting
engine or operating the joystick by other persons may cause
severe injury or death to the operator.
● Post the warning label on the joystick in the cab to show that
you are maintaining the machine. If necessary, post the warning
labels around the machine.
Common knowledge
● The operator and the service people should be trained and get
the certification. The persons who have nothing connection with
the inspection and maintenances are not allowed to enter in the
working areas. You can appoint the special person to guard the
areas.
● You should repair the grader according to the instructions. If
you do not know how to repair the grader, you should ask help

from XCMG.
● Repairing procedures should be programmed. When the grader
is to be repaired, or parts to be dismantled, the working director
should first be selected and work must be done in accordance
with his programmed procedures.
● The operator should wear a safety hat, protection suit with the
wristbands and trouser legs tightened. Sometimes because of the
contents of operation, safety glasses, gloves and mask should
also be worn.
● Please use the proper tools and do not use the broken and
inferior tools.
● No smoking when adding oil and doing inspection work.
● Keep the working area clean and orderly. Do not get oil and
grease scattering to all over the working areas. Avoid firing and
slipping.
● The fuel and engine oil are of dangerous staff, so the fuel,
engine oil, grease and oily cloth should not be exposed to flame
and spark.
● In order to prevent human injury happening, when making
repairing on the machine, stop the engine, engage the parking
brake and wedge the machine.
● Strictly adhere to what is required on the label. For the very
important notes, they are explicitly stated on the label, so please
strictly obey what is instructed on the label. If finding the label
peeled off or being polluted, please fasten it or clean it.
● When carrying out repairing service to the machine, stick a label
with words " No Operation" onto the starting switch and
instrument panel, or you can paste another type of warning
label, so as to avoid other unrelated people starting engine or
operating control levers, which, otherwise, will cause server
human injury or death.
● Before, dismounting or installing auxiliary attachments, it is
necessary to assign a person in charge of this.
● Place the attachments dismounted from the machine in a safe
area, and make sure they could not fall down. And around the
attachment, set a handrail, with a label" No Entry" hung on it,
by doing so to avoid un-related people getting access.
● Forbid any irrespective people to enter in the working areas.

● When checking or maintaining, please lock the frames by the
lock bar.
Cleaning
● Clean the machine, before doing any service and maintenance to
make sure dirt will not come into the machine and safe
maintenance.
● If the machine is dirty when doing service and maintenance, it is
not easy to find problems and may cause dirt spatter into eyes or
may have the danger of sliding or hurting due to greasy dirt on
the machine.
● While cleaning the machine, should use the cleanser that is non-
flammable.
Explosion prevention
● When checking the fuel, lubricating oil and battery electrolyte,
use the illuminating device that is of explosion -proof,
otherwise, there will be the risk of explosion.
● If the machine working in the dork area and without
illumination, there will be danger of getting injured, so it is a
must to install proper illuminating lamps.
● Even if working in the dark area, it is now allowed to take
lighter or flame for illumination, as it will cause the risk of fire,
for the gas sent out from the battery will cause explosion when
exposed to fire.
Working under the grader
● Stop the grader on the smooth road surface, and before working
under the grader, put down all the working devices on the
ground.
● Fix-up the wheels with chock.
● It is very dangerous to work under the grader that is only
supported by working devices.
● Never work under the loader with poor support.
Working on the top of the machine
● When maintaining on the top of machine, should guarantee the
foothold clean and there are not barriers, And follow the
following points for preventing falling .
☆ There can't be unrestrained lubricating oil or the lubricating

grease.
☆ Don't put tools all around.
☆ Should pay attention to the paces while walking.
● Don't jump off from machine definitely. When getting on or off
the machine, should face the machine, and must use the ladder
and handrail, keep in touch with three points on the ground at
any time (two feet with one hand, or two hands with one foot).
● Should use the protect equipment under the essential situation.
● The top of the engine hood is smooth and dangerous; no people
will be allowed to stand on it.
● Don’t stand on the top of tire, it is smooth and dangerous
The maintenance work with the engine running
In order to avoid injure and accident, please don’t make
maintenance for machine with engine running. If maintenance has
to be carried out even when the engine is running, follow the
following points:
● Arrange a worker sitting on driver seat and get ready to stop the
engine at any time, All workers must keep reach with him
● Don’t touch exhaust pipe or high temperature parts, such as end
tube, muffler, etc. to avoid scalding.
● Never touch any control handle. If it is necessarily to operate a
control handle, firstly make a alarming to other people and ask
them to safe place.
● Never have you body or any working tools touch with the leaf
of the fan or the fan belt. Otherwise, serious damage may be
caused.
● Don’t adjust the part that you do not know how to make.
lubricating oil
Fuel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, anti-freezing addition and
braking oil could be lighted with fire or flame, so following points
must be obeyed:
● Stop the engine when refilling fuel or lubricating oil.
● Smoking is definitely prohibited.
● Clean away the leaked fuel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, and

antifreeze addition and braking oil.
● All tanks covers for fuel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, anti-
freezing addition and braking oil must be securely fastened.
● Refill the fuel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, anti-freezing
addition and braking oil in the place with good ventilation.
Maintenance for battery
The battery electrolyte contains vitriol and can produces
hydrogen, so incorrect handling for the battery will cause serious
injury and fire risk, therefore, the following points must be obeyed:
● Never get the lighted cigarette or flame close to the battery.
● When you have to touch the battery during working, you ought
to wear safety glass and rubber gloves.
● If the electrolyte is splashed onto your clothes or skin, rinse
with plenty of fresh water immediately.
● If the battery electrolyte is splashed into eyes, it will cause
blindness. So if in case, rinse the eyes with plenty of fresh water
and see doctor right away.
● If you drink the electrolyte out of carelessness, then you must
drink a lot of water, milk, fresh egg or vegetable oil, and get
help from doctors or first-aid center immediately.
● Before you do any job relating the battery, remember to stop the
engine.
● Avoid the touching of metal staffs (e.g.: tools), which could
cause short circuit to positive pole (+) and negative pole (-) of
the battery.
● When installing the battery, fix the positive pole (+) first; when
dismounting the batter, disconnect the negative pole (-) first.
● When disassembling or installing the battery, firstly check
which pole is positive pole and which is negative pole, then
tighten it with screws. If the electrolyte level reaches near "
lower", then refill stilled water till it reaches " upper" level.

● When cleaning the top surface of the battery, use a piece of
cloth to cover it. Never use petroleum oil and other organic
solvent and cleaning solvent,
● Tighten the top cover of the battery.
● If the electrolyte has been frozen, don't recharge the battery and
start the engine with other power source either; otherwise it is
very dangerous and will cause battery to get fire. When charging
the battery or starting the engine with other power source, melt
the battery electrolyte first before you attempt to start the
engine, and you also need to check if there is any leakage.
● Remove the battery from the machine before recharging the
battery.
● When repairing the electric system or doing welding on the
machine, it is needed to remove the negative pole (-) of the
battery to prevent the current flowing.
Recharging for battery
When recharging the battery, if handle the battery incorrectly,
then there is the risk of battery explosion. So the procedure for
disposing and recharging the battery should be in line with required
process and instruction, and also obey the following points.
● Recharging for the battery should be done in a place with good
ventilation. Take out its top cover, by doing so hydrogen
scattering and explosion can be prevented.
● Set the recharging voltage according to the voltage requirement
for the battery to be recharged. If the recharging voltage is
wrongly set, then it will cause the charger getting too hot or fire
and also possibly explosion.
● Connect the positive (+) clamping-terminal of the charger with
positive pole (+), and negative terminal (-) with negative pole
(-). And fasten their connection.
● If the recharging ratio is less than 1/10, then you hove to make
rapid charging and set it within the battery's rated capacity. If
the recharging current is too much, then it may cause electrolyte
leakage or evaporation, which will possibly cause fire or
explosion

Starting the machine by means of voltage-increasing cable
If there is any wrong with the connection for the voltage-
increasing cable, risk of fire will be caused. So for this operation,
please follow the following steps:
● Two people will be available for this operation. (One of them
will keep sitting on the operator seat).
● When starting one machine, don't have it touching with another
machine.
● When connecting the voltage-increasing cable, shut off the
Starting-up switches of both the machines with and without the
problems.
● When installing the voltage-increasing cable, you must
remember that the positive (+) cable should be connected first.
When dismounting the voltage-increasing cable, grounding or
negative (-) coble should be removed first.
● The final grounding cable should be connected to the engine of
the machine which is with problems, but this will cause sparks,
so when making connection, please get away from the battery as
far as possible.
● When dismounting the voltage-increasing coble, care should be
taken to prevent the clampers of cables touching with each other
or touching with the machine.
Maintenance for tyres-wheel
● If the tyres explode, the explosion itself will throw the wheel
hub, tyres, driving axle and other components 500m or more far
away from the machine. And explosion and its partials will
cause server damage and healthy injury, so the tyres pressure
must be maintained at normal pressure range. Never inflate the
tyres beyond its rated pressure range.
● During traveling, the heat produced due to high-speed machine
traveling will cause the tyres pressure arising to some extent,
this is the normal case, please don't attempt to reduce the tyres
pressure. What you should do is to reduce the machine traveling
speed or just stop the machine to have the tyres cooling down.
However, if the machine keeps moving at very high speed
continuously, which will cause the tyres being overheated, then

tyres explosion will be led, so attention should be given.
● When adjusting tyres pressure, keep away from the tyres as far
as possible. And you should always stand at the back of the
tyres.
● It is prohibited to inflate the tyres with combustible gas.
● Check daily the tyres and wheel hub. It is not allowed to do any
operation with very low tyres pressure. And also check if there
is any cracks or deformation on the tyres.
● Check the mounting screws and bolts on the wheels to see if
there is any loss and if they are securely fasten with torque as
required by the manufacturer.
● During checking the wheels, don't make any access to the
turning wheels, both in the front and in the back. Such checking
should be done from the wheel sides. When you need to remove
one of the wheels, then other wheels need to be blocked with
wedges under them.
● When making welding near the wheels, since the tyres wheel
may cause explosion, so special care should be given.

Safe Transportation
Loading and Unloading the machine
● There is always potential risk of danger during loading and
unloading the machine, so special care should be given. During
loading and unloading the machine, the engine must run at low
speed, and the machine travels also at low speed.
● To load or unload the machine should be done on the hard
ground, and be kept at safe distance between road edge.
● When loading or unloading the machine to/from transporting
vehicles, you must be sure that the wheels of vehicles are
securely positioned, not moving. And put a wedge under the
slope plate.
● Use plates as slope plates that are of enough strength, enough
length and width, so that it can be sure the slope plates are
strong and safe enough to load or unload the machine. The angle
between the slope plates and ground should not be more than
15". And the gap between slope plates should be in accordance
with the wheel of the machine to be loaded or unloaded.
● Make sure the slopes plates are securely fastened in same
heighten level.
● Make sure the slope plates are free of grease、 oil、 ice and other
loosen material. And also remove away the dirt from the
machine wheels.
● Never make steering on the slope plates. But if the steering has
to be done, then get the machine off from the slope plates. After
steering is made you can drive the machine up the slope plates.
● After the machine being loaded on the vehicles, lock the
steering device and put a wedge under the machine wheels. And

then fasten the machine with ropes.
Transporting on Road
● When delivering the machine by means of vehicles, follow the
national or local rules and regulations in terms of transporting
weight, height, width and length strictly. And relative traffic
rules should also be abided.
● When determining the road route, the weight, height, width and
length of the machine should be taken into consideration.
● When passing the bridge or other buildings a private area, firstly
check if the bridges or these buildings are strong enough to
endure the machine weight. When traveling on the public road,
following relative rules or regulations.
● When delivering the machine by other means, maybe the
machine will be disassembled. Under such case, please contact

ChapterⅡ Operation and Usage
Please read and understand the manual to make the machine
be in a good running status
Be familiar with instruments and buttons
The cab of GR215 all-wheel drive grader is well designed for
you, which will supply a happy and comfortable operating
environment for you. First of all, let us get familiar with the
following items:
Keys: five sets of keys for GR215 all-wheel drive grader
☆ Door key
☆ Key for engine startup
☆ Key for side door of engine hood
☆ Key for main switch
☆ Key filter of oil box
Doors: Lock is on the handle of the door. Turn the key counter-
clockwise to a certain position to lock the door; if the door is
locked when it is open, pull the inside handle behind the door
to unlock it.

Control mechanism and instruments (see Fig.3)

Meters:
Water temperature meter: Range 40-120°C . Pilot engine
cooling water temperature. In normal condition, the
temperature should be below 95°C
Time meter: cumulative range: 0-9999.9h. It indicates the
engine cumulative working time.
Fuel meter: Range 0-1/2-1. Pilot the fuel level in the diesel
tank. Never start the machine when there is no oil in the tank,
otherwise the pipeline would be blocked or air would enter the
system.
Engine oil pressure meter: Range 0-lMpa, pilot engine oil
pressure. In idling rotating speed (min. speed), it is 69 kPa. In
rated rotating speed, it is 207 kPa.
Temperature meter for Torque Converter: Range 40~140℃ ,
pilot torque converter working temperature. The normal
temperature should be 80~110℃, while the instantaneous
temperature could be up to 120℃.
Volt meter: Range 16-36V, pilot electrical system voltage.
Oil pressure meter for torque Converter: Range 0~2.5Mpa,
pilot gearbox oil pressure.
Tachometer: Range 0-3000rounds, pilot engine rotates.
Pilot lamp:
Brake pressure pilot lamp: When start the engine, this lamp

shines for about one minute and then extinguish. If it is shining
when working, that means the hydraulic brake system goes
wrong. Stop machine at once, then check and get rid of the
trouble.
Left-turn pilot lamp: Move the steering switch to the left hand,
and the lamp will shine.
Reverse pilot lamp: When the machine is reversing, the lamp
shines.
Right-turn pilot lamp: Move the steering switch to the right,
and the lamp will shine.
Front drive switch pilot lamp: when shift selector is in neutral,
press the switch, the pilot lamp shine.
Front drive shift I pilot lamp: when front drive switch is on,
put the shift selector to forward shift I or press front drive shift
I switch, the pilot lamp shine.
Front drive shift II pilot lamp: when front drive switch is on,
put the shift selector to forward shift II or shift III, the pilot
lamp shine.
Engine alarm pilot lamp: the alarm pilot lamp supply important
operation information. It requires the operator notice the
information in time. This pilot lamp use to describe diagnostic
code too.
Engine stop running pilot lamp: the stop running pilot lamp
supply emergent operation information. This information
requires operator give answer quickly and take correct
measure. This pilot lamp also uses to flash diagnostic fault
code.
Engine wait to start indicator lamp: when turn key switch to
position I and electrify, engine will preheat automatically. The
pilot lamp shine to show the engine is preheating, then the
lamp extinguish after several seconds to show the engine finish
preheating. Just this time you can start engine.
Working hydraulic system return oil-filter pilot lamp: when
engine is running, if the pilot lamp is shine, it means that the
oil-filter is block, you need to clean it or change oil-filter core.
Front-wheel drive hydraulic system return oil-filter pilot lamp:
when engine is running, if the pilot lamp is shine, it means that
the oil-filter is block, you need to clean it or change oil-filter

core.
Suction oil-filter pilot lamp: when engine is running, if the pilot
lamp is shine, it means that the oil-filter is block, you need to
clean it or change oil-filter core.
Pipe oil-filter pilot lamp: when engine is running, if the pilot
lamp is shine, it means that the oil-filter is block, you need to
clean it or change oil-filter core.
Switches
Main power switch: To control the main power switch on or
off.
Key switch: Turn it clockwise to ON position, then the
electrical circuit is connected. Turn to 0 position, engine
extinguish.
Start button: Press down the button, the engine will be started
up.
Front-wheel drive switch: Press down this button, the front-
wheel drive system is in job.
All-wheel drive shift I switch: if you want to drive only by
front wheel, rear wheel is driven. To do that you need to put
shift selector to 0 position and press down this switch when the
front-wheel drive switch is on.
Lamp switch: width pilot /instrument lamp. front /rear working
lamp left/right steering lamp、front lamp. Rotating alarm lamp.
Emergency signal lamp switch: Press down this switch, all
lamps above-mentioned get on.

Accelerator:
The footboard with the hand-control speed handle can control
the rotary speed of the engine.
Brake footboard:
It can act on the brake of the rear wheels with hydraulic
system. The braking pressure is decided by the pressure acting on
the brake footboard.
Hand brake operating device:
Move up the hand brake to engage the stopping brake; and
then push down the hand brake to disengage braking.
Working device operation:
You can operate each rod to control the adjusting and
localizing of the relative devices in the driver's cab as the faceplate
diagrammatic sketch. They are all hydraulic driving devices.
Tilting the control panel to control joysticks
Tilt the control panel to the desired position for comfortable
operation.

Double-direction anti-vibration type seat: it has good buffer
function at up, down, back and forward directions and comfort
ability is increased.
Vehicle running- in
The machine has already been checked and adjusted
completely before sale, however, if it works under the atrocious
environment at the beginning, the using lift of the machine may be
shortened obviously. Many components of the machine (such as:

engine, axle, gearbox, pump, motor and valve, etc) need a certain
running-in period. Only after the running-in period, could the
machine service lift and its maximum productivity efficiency be
achieved. So it is necessary to carry out run-in to the machine at the
first 50 operating hours and pay attention to maintenance service.
Please follow the regulations stated below during the run-in period:
● After starting, idle the machine for 5 minutes
● It is forbidden to accelerate the suddenly during pre-warning.
● Apart from emergency case, sudden startup acceleration
turnaround and sudden brake should be avoided.
● During run-in period, forward gears are I, II, Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴand Ⅵ; rear

1. Check the tightness of every bolt and nut overall especially
for cylinder head bolt of diesel engine, fix bolt of engine,
gearbox and front & rear axle, hub nut, connecting bolt of
the transmission shaft etc. All the above bolts should be
checked once.
2. Clean the rough and fine engine oil filter and fuel filter.
3. Check the tightness of fan belt, generator belt and air-
conditioner compress belt.
4. Check the gravity and reserves of the storage battery
electrolyte tighten the joints of storage battery.
5. Check the oil level of the speeder.
6. Check the airproof state of the hydraulic system and brake
system.
7. Check the connection and tightening state of every control
stick and accelerator pusher.
8. Check the temperature and connection state of every
component in the electric system, power supply state of
dynamotor, state of lighting and turning signal light.
Utility
Starting up

Only after the above-mentioned 6 elements are in proper
order can the engine be started.
Starting the engine
● Place speed-gear stick in neutral position.
● Switch on the main power supply.
● Turn the starting key to switch on the power for meters/ and step
on the accelerator.
● Press starting switch to switch on starting motor, then the engine
is started.
● Once the engine is started, release the key and starting switch.
● After startup, warm the machine for about 5-10 minutes at the
idle speed. At the same time, pay close attention to the
indication of meters.
If there is no abnormal situation and the brake pilot lamp goes
off, then you can release the parking brake and drive the machine.
Attention:
● Every starting can last 10~15 seconds at most. The quench time
of each starting should be at least 1 minute. The speed-
controlling rod should be placed in the neutral position. If your
machine can’t start for three successive times, check the
machine according to the explanation in the operation manual.
Start the engine again after resolving the trouble problem.
● Before starting up, place all control sticks in neutral position,
speed-gear in idle gear and switches in reset position.
● At the time of starting up, it is not allowed to accelerate throttle
to its max. position to avoid damage against engine within
sudden time.
● For other instruction concerning engine operation, please refer
to specific documentation of diesel engine.
● Engine preheating: There is engine preheating pilot lamp (No.
9) on the control board. When the key switch turn to position I
to electrify, engine preheat automatically; the pilot lamp will
shine, it means engine is preheating; then the pilot lamp
extinguish after several seconds, it means that engine finish
preheating. Just this time, you can start engine.

After the engine being started up
● When the engine is started, make the engine run in
600-850r/min for 5 minutes to raise its temperature. When the
hydraulic system pressure goes up to more than 10Mpa and the
brake pilot lamp goes off, then you can release the parking
brake and drive the machine.
● It is not allowed to keep the engine continuously running at idle-
gear with high speed or low speed for more than 20 minutes. If
it is necessary to keep the engine running at idle-gear, then it is
needed to have the engine be loaded every now and then or let
the engine run at medium-range speed.
The following checking should also be implemented before
driving the machine forward:
● Listen if there is any abnormal sound from transmission
mechanism of engine.
● Check if all working mechanism could work properly.
● Check if the brake is safe and reliable.
● Check if the steering operation is flexible and reliable.
● Check if the circuit is in normal condition.
● Check if the lights and gauges are functioning, whether the pilot
is normal.
Traveling
Move
● Lift blade and slew it back.
● Release stop parking brake.
● Place Shift control stick to position I or II, then slowly Step
down the throttle Pedal to accelerate.
Attention:
● When driving the machine on the slope ground or on the ground
with tough condition, it is prohibited to drive machine with high
speed.
● Select proper traveling gear before driving down from slope.
Never make gear shifting during driving down from slope.
● It is also prohibited to drive machine with override speed when
coming down from slope. You can reduce speed by means of
braking pedal.

Interchange between gear shifting and forward/reverse
● To shift the speed gear, you should operate in sequence.
● Gear shifting range: I, II gear: working, climbing slope, uneven
road surface. When working on bad road, you can use front-
wheel drive at the same time. III. IV. V. VI gear: smooth road
surface, high speed traveling.
Attention:
it’s forbidden to use front-wheel drive when using IV. V. VI gear.

Steering
● During driving, turn the steering wheel to the direction as
desired, and then the machine will make steering.
● This type of machine takes its articulation pin as its center, so
during steering, the front frame and rear frame are not in
alignment.
● It will be very dangerous if making steering at very high
traveling speed, so it is not allowed to do so.
● Making steering when traveling on slope will cause tilting over
to the machine, so it is now allowed to do so.
Braking
● Don't put your feet on the braking pedal, if it is not very
necessary.
● Don't step on the braking pedal repeatedly, if it is not necessary.
● When driving the machine down slop, take the engine as
braking device. Never make gear shifting or apply idle gear of
gearbox.
Working
Front-wheel drive
● When working on bad road, you can use front-wheel drive. Put
the gear selector to neutral and turn the traction adjusting button
to least position, then press down the front-wheel drive switch,
the pilot lamp will shine. Put gear selector to forward I gear or
forward II. III gear position, and then turn the traction-adjusting
button according to job status. The front-wheel drive will do job
automatically and the pilot lamp of relating gear will shine.
● When you want to stop front-wheel drive, put the gear selector
to neutral and turn the traction-adjusting button to least position.
Then loosen the control switch to release front-wheel drive, all
the pilot lamp of front-wheel drive will extinguish.
● If you want to work only by front-wheel drive, put the gear
selector to neutral, and then press down switch of forward I

gear, the machine will do job in relating gear. You can also
loosen the control switch to stop using it.
Attention: It’s forbidden to use front-wheel drive when
transferring on building site or driving on road. Before startup
front-wheel drive, turn the traction-adjusting button to least
position.
Blade adjustment
It showed in the figure on control joystick for blade
adjustment. The blade position can be adjusted by controlling each
joystick, so that the blade can be adjusted at different position to
apply different working situation.
Attention: Slewing the blade with load is forbidden.
Slewing- frame rotating
Normally, the slewing-frame is locked at horizontal position.
When needing to tilt the blade, take the following steps to fix the
blade at position 1 or 2 and 4 or 6. (See fig.8)
● For placing at position 1 or 2, take the slewing frame cylinder
fully in.
● For placing at position 4 or 6, put out fully the slewing frame
cylinder.
● After finishing the above step, engage the blade cylinder to
lower down the blade onto ground (hydraulic system has no
load pressure).
● Take away the locking pin of slewing frame.
● When rotating slewing-frame, operate the control joysticks of
the blade raising cylinder and blade slewing cylinder.
● Lock the slewing frame with the locking pin.

Front wheel inclining
Operate the rod to make the front wheel inclining to either
right or left side. Incline the front wheel to get:
● Smaller turning radius. During leveling operation, it can
strengthen the capability of anti-slippery of the tire.
● Even if it is working on the slope, the wheel will have better
adhesive power.

Rear scarifier (option)
It is an option available at request. There are 5 teeth for the
rear scarifier. Normally it works with 3 teeth if operating on hard
surface, while the teeth to be used should be in symmetric
arrangement.There are 2 positions for the scarifier: working
position and traveling position. Take out the safety spring, and pull
out the rod. Draw back the scarifying teeth and lift the scarifier
completely, so as to make the scarifier in traveling position. Take
out the safety spring, and pull out the rod. Draw out teeth to make
the scarifier in working position. Operate the scarifier control rod
to lay down the teeth on the ground, and drive the grader forward;
and lower the scarifier at the same time, so as to make it digging
into the earth.
Attention: Lift the scarifier up during grader's turning or
reverse driving operation. And it is not allowed to make turning or
reverse driving if the scarifier is not lifted up.

Front dozer blade (option)
It is an option available at request. Operate the front blade
control ever to control the up-down motion of the blade.
Attention: Lift the blade when it is not in operation.
Leveling operation
Leveling operation is applied in the project of road building,
road repair and maintenance, site leveling, ditch backfill or road-
building material spreading etc.
During operation, it is required to adjust the blade angle
properly according to the project requirement and soil texture.
Traveling forward in I gear, lower the blade to cut into earth. Adjust
the blade cutting depth, blade plane angle and traveling direction
all the time according to load and geography condition; so as to
make the earth scrapped moving laterally along the blade surface to
unload the earth to either side of the grader or between the two
wheels. Pay attention not to make the earth ridge in the track of the
rear wheel, otherwise it will affect the traction force of the grader,
and thus cause an even surface for the scrapped area.
When performing ditch backfill, it is required to have the
blade inclined to the ditch, to unload the earth into the ditch, and
ensure a safety traveling during the operation. When performing
reverse Operation, it is suggested to have the blade revolving angle
of 180°C so as toImprove the operation efficiency. When operating
leveling or gravel (or other material) spreading at the last stage of
shoveling operation, the blade should be adjusted to the position at
90°C to its vertical axis, while grader should travel at I gear, and
the blade height being adjusted to cut a little amount of earth, so as
to make most of the shoveled earth to be pushed forward, with very
little amount flowing to either side. For the earth flowing to the two
sides, lower the blade to the ground, and even the soil in a high
traveling speed. Operating on a curved line, the operator shall
properly control the direction or make use of full wheel steering to
perform the operation flexibly.
Digging ditches
Digging ditches operation is used for digging ditches along the

roadside or drain in the site. During digging operation, normally
the blade is put in inclination; one end of the blade is placed on the
ground for operation, the digging operation includes 3 stages:
demarcating, deepen and trimming. Before operation, clear out
obstacles, and carry out a primary leveling. Scarify the soil if
necessary, and mark the centerline of the ditch.
● Demarcating operation
Demarcating operation is a very important performance for the
over all operating quality, especially for the straightness of the
ditch direction. During operation, make the blade-shoveling end on
same line with front wheel contour, and make the front wheel
inclining properly towards the inner side of the ditch, and the blade
front edge in 15-30 cm away from the ditch contour. When the
grader is traveling at I gear, lower the blade front edge down to cut
earth, with a cutting depth normally less than 10cm. Lift the blade
rear edge to 40cm away, from the ground, so as to make the cut
earth in the middle of the blade to be unloaded between the two
wheels. During the operation, pay attention to control the grader's
traveling direction, make it travel along the marked line, so as to
ensure a correct position of the ditch.
● Deepening operation
After demarking operation, deepening operation is followed
by earth shoveling and earth moving. For each shoveling operation,
move a proper distance towards inner direction, so as to leave a
step with certain width. The width for the step lift should not be
less than the cutting depth every time, so as to make the operation
for every cut meet the designed lateral slope line. During operation,
the grader traveling at I gear, lower blade front edge and lift up the
rear edge. The correct position for the blade shall make the rigid of
every cutting operation in the inner side of the rear wheel, thus to
ensure a stable traveling of the grader. Adjust the cutting depth all
the time according to the change of shoveling resistance, but not to
make too big adjustment to avoid forming "wave" to affect the
operation next time. Try to keep the cutting depth and width of
every operation the more similar the better, and the last shoveling
operation should meet the overall depth and width of the ditch.
Normally, for each cutting operation, it is required to perform
earth-moving operation according to soil texture and the size of

rigid. Pull the blade 10-20cm out of the rigid, and make the rigid
caused by earth-moving operation at the outer side of the rear
wheel. What is more, keep the front wheel in proper inclining
towards the inner side of the ditch during every shoveling and
earth-moving operation, so as to maintain the grader's stability and
an easy traveling control.
● Trimming operation
Trimming operation is mainly applied for outer lateral slope
trimming after the ditch being dug to its total depth. During the
operation, according to the topography, you can put the grader on
both sides of the ditch, and shovel the earth to the outer edge of the
ditch, or use the blade rear edge to shovel earth in the ditch, and
then clear the earth out. If it is limited by the topography, you can
pull the blade from one side, and make it inclining to one side of
the grader. Then you can drive the grader along the ditch, cut the
earth in the ditch and later move out the earth.
● Slope scrapping operation
Slope scrapping operation is mainly applied for scrapping
lateral slope of 25°C-70°C, 3-4m height. Before operation, adjust
the blade to one side of the machine by blade laterally pulling and
inclining, and then put the blade upper edge forward, traveling
forward at I gear, and lower the blade for shoveling earth. While
operating, adjust slope-scrapping height by rotating revolving ring
or moving blade, to lift up or lower the blade so as to adjust
scrapping slope. In order to improve the stability of the grader’s
operation, incline the front wheel towards the direction of the
lateral slope.
In order to improve operating efficiency, it is better to have
two graders working together, using the one without blade laterally
being pulled out to level the road base surface, the other to scrap
the earth on lateral slope.
Essential of operating the grader:
The grader is competent at the following job: clearing
foundation, fine fishing operation, slope scrapping, reshaping,
mixed paving, material collecting and ramming, scrapping snow
ice etc.
● The articulated steering greatly reduces the turning radius of the

grader. This has made the machine to be able to have even more
flexible operation, the machine can operate in "crab walking"
which makes the blade to be able to extend from the outside of
the rear wheel, so as to avoid the rear wheel from traveling on
the leveled ground. The articulated steering also improves the
machine's ability of helping itself in difficult circumstance.
● One of the most important factors for the grader's optimum
efficiency is to select a proper blade rotary angle and blade
angle. It is suggested to adopt with a bigger rotary angle, since
the bigger the blade rotary angle is the higher the shoveling
pressure on the working length (per centimeter) will be. During
shoveling operation, a small blade angle can reduce cutting
resistance, while a big blade angle can improve leveling
precision and mixing efficiency.
● Front wheel should incline towards material flowing direction.
When operating on an inclining slope, if the front wheels are on
plumb position, a better adhesion can be achieved with the front
wheel's inclining.
● Without changing blade operation height, it will extend the
blade by operating blade lead-out device.
● The machine is not suitable to work underground or poor
ventilated environment, because it has a direct-injection engine.
The waste gas from engine cannot be specially screened
completely by the above-mentioned condition.
Parking
Step for parking
● Release the throttle pedal, and step on braking pedal till the
machine stopping, place the speed control stick in neutral
position.
● The machine stops completely. Press down the hand- braking
switch and have it engaged.
● Lower the blade to ground.
● Position the machine on the flat ground where there is no falling
stone, slope or not in risk of suffering floods. It is necessary, the
machine can be parked temporarily on the slope ground, for
which place a wedge under the wheels to prevent the machine
moving.

Steps for stopping the engine
Don’t stop the engine immediately after parking. Before
stopping the engine, make the engine run in idle for 5 minutes to
cool down thoroughly. Press down the key of extinguisher to stop
engine. Turn the key switch of the power to Position "0" to break
off the circuit, Remove the key and keep it well.
Leaving from the machine
● When coming down form the machine, use ladder or handrail,
facing the machine. It is now allowed to jump from the machine
directly.
● Check if there is any building-up of dusts or small pellets. If it is
the case, clean it timely to prevent the risk of fire.
● Clean away all combustible materials around the machine to
avoid the risk of fire.
● Lock the door and windows, and pull out the key.
Instructions to be followed after finishing work everyday
● Check the fuel level.
● Check the engine oil level and its clearness. If it is found that
the engine oil level is too high or gets thin, find out the cause
and remedy it.
● Check if there is any leakage on oil pipelines, water pipelines,
air pipelines and every component.
● Check the state of fastening and sealing for gearbox, torque
converter, hydraulic pump, steering device and driving axle, and
also check if these parts get overheated.
● Check if the mounting screws on hub, transmission shaft and
bearing get loose.
● Check if all working mechanism could work properly.
● Check the appearance of tyres and its pressure.
● Apply grease to lubricating nipples as instructed.
● Clean away the dust and other contamination built-up on the
machine and inside the bucket.
Usage of warmer
● Open the engine hood on the left, and then open the valve
connecting the engine and the heating tube.
● Startup the engine and let it run for 10 minutes, after water inner
the engine gets hot, press the hearting button.
● Adjust the damper direction.
Usage of extinguisher
The extinguisher is positioned at the left side of operator seat inside
operation cab. In case of fire risk, take the following steps:
● Stop the engine.
● Shut off the main power switch.
● Use extinguisher to put out a fire.
● Avoid fire extending.
● Ask for help.

Operation in cold weather
Instruction to be followed in low temperature
If the temperature is too low, it is difficult to start the engine
and radiator may also be frozen. So observe the following
guidelines:
● All components should use fuel, hydraulic oil and lubricant with
low viscosity. Add anti-freeze addition into the cooling water.
Please refer to oil list for detailed oil trademark.
● Precautions when using anti-freeze addition:
Note: Keep antifreeze away from fire and no smoking when
using antifreeze.
● Do not use the anti-freeze addition with methanol, ethanol and
proper alcohol.
● Do not use any anti-leakage addition; regardless it is used along
or together with anti-freeze.
● Do not use mixed anti-freeze addition with different trademarks.
● When replacing the anti-freeze addition, please refer to
explanations about the proportion on the anti-freeze addition
usage. Look the sign at the back of the machine.
Precautions when using battery
● When the temperature around drops, the capacity of battery may
also drop. If the charging ratio of battery is low, the electrolyte
may be frozen. So try keeping the charging ratio at 100% and
preserving its heat, then the engine may be easy to start in the
next day only in this way.
● If the battery gets frozen, do not recharge it or start up the
engine. What should be done is to warm it up to 15°C .
Otherwise, there will be a risk of explosion.
● In the high-cold area, be sure to use cold-proof battery.

to prevent the frozen mud, water or snow in the sealed area from
despairing the airproof performance.
● Park the machine on the dry and solid ground. If it is
impossible, park the machine on the wood board. Using wood
board may prevent the machine from freezing on the ground and
may make it easy to start the machine in the next day.
● Open the discharging valves, discharge water in the water tank,
engine, evaporator of air-conditioner and relative pipelines to
prevent it from freezing.
● In the low temperature, with the dramatic decreasing of battery
capacity, be sure to cover the battery or move it to the warm
area, and assemble it again for the next day operation.
After Cold Weather
When season changes or it gets warm, be sure to do job as the
following:
All components now should use fuel, hydraulic oil and

Precautions:
● The oil is required to be clean. The diesel oil must pass through
72-hour deposition.
● Oil injector and oil positions must be clean and prevent water
contaminated entering into oil.
● When checking oil quantity, the machine must be kept in a level
state.
● Every kind of oil can't be mixed and substituted. Abide strictly
by tabulation of oil trademark.
● After filling oil or changing oil, must check to see if there is any
oil leakage.
Note: When checking or replacing oil or cooling liquid, take
care to avoid scald.

● Open the filter; add filtered hydraulic oil until the oil level is up
to the middle of the glass observer.
● Install the filter cover.
● Start the Engine and operate all working mechanism and all
joysticks and move all the control levers to its max position so
as to fully fill in hydraulic oil to hydraulic system and bleed out
all air
● Add more oil to filter port if necessary until the oil level is up to
the middle of the glass observer.
● Loose the two whorl stopples on upper tank when it need to
disassembly inhale vitta during maintaining system. At the end,
renew oil properly, and then tighten the two whorl stopples.
Filling Oil to Fuel Tank
1、Check fuel level
There is a specific fuel gauge on the control panel. Switch on
the power key. The gauge pointer must be kept over 1/10 scale.
2、Discharging contaminated remains
Drain off water and contaminated remains inside the tank
from the drainage flange at the bottom. And then clean the fuel
filling plug and fuel filter. Replace the filter if it gets worn.
3、Put the oil-suction pipe into oil container, and then switch on the
oil-feeding pump to fill in oil.
Filling oil for gearbox
1、Oil variety
It is must to use specified oil for gearbox. We recommend user
use Mobile 1300 (Grad: SAE15W-40)
2、Oil level checking
● Place Grader horizontally.
● Put the shift gears at idle.
● At the working temperature range
● Let the engine rotate unload.
● Loose dipstick anti-clockwise, and put out dipstick. Then clean
it.

● The aim of checking cool oil level is guarantee gearbox and
torque enough oil. Heat oil level is fast criterion of oil level.
3、Oil changing and oil adding
After the machine has been used for first 100 working
hours, it is a Must to make first-time oil changing. After this, oil
changing should be carried out every 1000 working hours or
every year!
Instruction to be followed when making oil changing:
● Park the machine on a flat area, with the gearbox being in its
working temperature. Take out the oil-draining plug and sealing
ring to drain out old oil.
Note: When draining oil. Not only drain off all oil from the
gearbox, but also drain off all oil from torque converter and
radiator.
● Clean the draining plug and oil-pan surface, and then fix them
on again with new sealing ring.
● Replenish with new oil as required in terms of oil type and
quantity.
It is necessary to remind: Use clean oil and oil filter for the
gearbox.
And at any case, the oil level must be at right scale of oil
dipstick.
● Start up the engine, and let it run at idle speed.
● Put the gear-shifting control handle on neutral position.
● Add oil till to the upper scale of "cold" oil area.
● Parking brake should be at safe position.
● Engage every gear one time.
● Check the oil level again. If necessary, re-fill oil again.

● Discharge the old lubricating oil from the drainage plug
respectively on the driving axle and the hub reducer. (Such
operation should be done only when the oil being arm).
● Unscrew the oil filling (checking) plugs on the hub reducer on
both sides, and also unscrew the oil-filling (checking) plug on
the driving axle. Fill in till there is oil flowing out from the
plug of the driving axle. And it will be all right if there is oil
flowing out from inspection area of the hub reducer (at this
time the arrow sign on the hub reducer should point downward.

sign). After that, put on the plugs and tighten them.
Filling oil for the engine
1、Check oil level
● Take out the oil dipstick, clean and dry it. And then insert it
into. After this take it out again for checking.
● And the oil level is all right if the oil surface lies between
upper and lower scale of the dipstick. If the oil level is
bellowing the lower scale, replenish it with oil till the upper
level.
● Checking oil level can only be implemented before making any
work or after the engine stops running for about 15 minutes
● Double check cleanness of the oil. If it is found that the oil is
over polluted, replace it completely with new oil.
2、Replace with new oil
● Discharge the polluted oil from the drainage plug at the bottom
of oil pan of the engine. Fill in with new oil from oil filling
plug till the oil level up to the upper scale of dipstick.
● After making the engine run at low speed, stop the engine and
re-check the oil level. If the oil level is not enough, replenish
with oil till upper scale of dipstick.
● When filling in oil, care should be taken to keep the oil level
not beyond the upper scale.
● Replacing with new oil for the engine can only be done when
the engine is till hot.
Worm gear box for rotating blade

1、Oil level checking

Refill more oil to the port if necessary.
2、Oil change
● The blade shall incline to the side of the oil plug and support on
the ground, so as to let the oil draining quicker.
● Remove the drain plug to drain oil into a container. You can
remove the filling plug to expedite drain.
● Clean the plug and screw it with new sealing ring and fasten it
● Place the blade horizontal with blade up-down cylinder
● Replenish oil to the level as required (up to the middle position
of lipstick)
● Clean the oil plug and screw it after changing with a new
sealing ring.
Balancing box
1、Oil level checking
● Oil level should be in the middle of the indicator, i.e. the highest
oil level.
● Removing the ventilation breather, refill with more oil if
necessary
2、Oil Change
● Remove the oil plugs (two plugs for each box) to drain the oil
into a container until the box is empty.
● Clean the oil plug and screw it on with a new sealing ring.
● Take out the ventilation breather, and refill with new oil until
the oil level is up to the middle of the oil level indicator, i.e. oil
tiptop.
● Refit the ventilation breather and fasten it.
Cooling fluid supplying
50% anti-freezing fluid is used as cooling fluid for the engine.
When air temperature is lower -37°C .The concentration should be
boost to 60% and adjusted according to the maintenance manual.

1、Water supplying
● When the cooling water for the engine gets overheated, firstly
check the water level, if necessary. Fill in more water. And at
the same time. Also check if the radiator element has been
blocked and if the hose has been worn out. Be sure to put the
radiator cover tightly to prevent cooling water evaporating.
● Replacing cooling water for radiator should be done only after
the radiator being in cold state. So firstly open the radiator
cover, then open the drainage valve at the bottom of radiator to
flow out the cooling water completely.
● After the water being replaced, start the engine to let water
level be a little bit lower. After that stop the engine, and refill
water again.
When the engine just stops or during the engine is running,
it is not allowed to open the radiator housing. And it will be
very dangerous if the hot water splashing out.
2、Precautions Items
● During the hot weather with temperature up to 30°C, since the
engine will easily get hot, so it is better to park the machine in
shading area.
● After work finished, in order to prolong the service lift of
engine, have the engine run at low speed for 5 minutes Only
after the water temperature gets lower, then can you stop the
engine.
● The freezing point of anti-freezing addition should be lower
10°C than the lowest temperature of the local area.
● The anti-freezing addition should be replaced every year.

Inspection and Maintenance
The machine could not work in high performance if without
the regulator inspection and maintenance. It is totally wrong to take
it for granted the machine can work properly, without needing
service and maintenance.Correct inspection and maintenance will
not only prolong the service lift of the machine, but also help find
problems earlier, so as to remedy them earlier, which, being as the
result, will reduce the time and cost for later service and
maintenance.
Checking and maintenance before working
● Check water level inside the radiator
● Check oil level for the engine tank.
● Check liquid level in fuel tank. Hydraulic oil tank and the
speeder.
● Check airproof state of every oil pipeline, water pipeline, air
pipeline and their components.
● Check if foot- braking and hand braking could work properly.
● Check if all control sticks could work freely and if they are in

Neutral position.
● Check if pneumatic pressure of tyres are correct or not (2.6bar).
● Check if all mounting screws on hub, axle and transmission
shaft get loose.
Checking and maintenance after work finished
● Check fuel level.
● Check engine tank oil level and its cleanness, if it is found that
the oil level is too high or oil gets thin, find out the reason and
get it remedied.
● Check if there is any leakage from oil pipelines, water pipelines
and air pipelines
● Check the mounting tightness for the speeder, torque converter,
hydraulic pump, driving axle and braking device. And also
check airproof state for these parts and if they are overheated.
● Check if all the mounting screws on hub, axle and transmission
shaft get loose.
● When the air temperature is below 0°C, discharge the cooling
water off. (Cooling water with anti-freezing addition is
exceptional.)
● Apply grease to every lubricating nipple as scheduled.
The checking and maintenance for the machine should be
done properly. And care should be taken to prevent accident and
injury happening. During checking, mark a sign on the place with
problem and get the entire problem remedied after all checking
finishedMaking fire and smoking is strictly prohibited when
making checking and maintenance. And fire extinguisher should
also be prepared
Regular checking and maintenance
Proper lubrication and maintenance can ensure the machine to
work without problem with long service life. Since working
duration of the machine is prolonged and its working cost is
reduced, so the time and cost to be needed for regular maintenance
and service can be greatly reduce.
The duration interval and maintenance scope should be
adjusted according to different environment where the machine
is used, such as: high temperature, heavy damp, low
temperature, more dust and high elevation. In case you have

The duration interval for regular checking and maintenance is
divided into: 50 working hours, 100 working hours, 250 working
hours 500 working hours, 1000 working hours and 2000 working
hours.
1、Maintenance for every 50 working hours
● Fasten the mounting screws on transmission shaft, hub
● Check the control system for throttle, hand braking and gear-
shifting.
● Clean out uncover surface and athletic surface. Apply grease to
chassis articulation pins, transmission shaft, rear axle supports
and steering pins.
2、Maintenance for every 100 working hours, at the same time,
carry out maintenance for every 50 working hours
Only after the first 100 working hours could the following
maintenance be made:
Filter for gearbox oil: replace the filter core
Check braking mechanism, adjust it if need.
Check the oil level of the rear axle.
Clean the air filter element.
Measure the inflation pressure of tires.
Check the engine oil level. If needed, replenish with new oil.
Clean the filters element for lubricating oil, diesel oil
Check the tension of fan belt.
Check the oriented clearance of blade.
3、Maintenance for every 250 working hours
At the same time, maintenance for every 50 and 100 working
hours should also be made. Only after the first 250 working hours
could the following maintenance should be made.
Fuel filter: replace the filter element
Speeder oil filter: replace the filter element
Air output clearance for engine: Check and adjust
Clean the filters for lubricating oil. Diesel oil and the speeder
oil.
Check the battery electrolyte, if necessary replenish with more.

between the engine pulley and fan pulley (about 6kg force).
The normal tension flexibility of the belt is about 10 mm. After
adjustment, fixing bolts must be tightly fastened.
4、Maintenance for every 500 working hours
At the some time, maintenance for every 50, 100 and 250
working hours should also be made.
Fasten the mounting bolts on front and rear axle and machine
frame.
Check and adjust the hand braking clearance
Change the engine lubricating oil.
Check the wearing state of brake device.
5、Maintenance for every 1000 working hours
At the same time, maintenance for every 50, 100 250 and 500
working hours should also be done.
Change the gear oil for both front and rear axle, slew worm
wheel box, balance box.
Change the hydraulic oil of transmission and clean the
hydraulic oil filter.
Change the hydraulic oil for hydraulic system, and clean the
hydraulic oil filter, clean the ventilating outlet of the speeder
and torque converter.
Check the braking device.
Clean the filter of diesel oil tank.
Check elasticity of balance box chain, adjust if need.
Check the oriented clearance of blade and slew loop, adjust if
needed.
6、Maintenance for every 2000 working hours

decisive response. The Stop Lamp is also used to flash out
diagnostic fault codes.
PNormally, if the Key is turned on but the Diagnostic Switch
off, the indicator lamps will illuminate for approximately two
seconds and then go off, one after the other, to verify the engine is
all right and you can start it as normal. If they don’t go off after two
seconds, it indicates that the engine has some fault. If the yellow
lamps remain on, that shows there are ordinary fault, and the red
lamp show critical fault. Now you should enter the diagnosis mode
to diagnose fault.
When diagnose, the Key must switch on and the engine is not
running. The process is:
Turn on the Diagnostic Switch on the switchboard, enter the
fault diagnosis mode, now the two lamps will flash regularly, you
can judge the concrete fault by the flash regular.
After the Diagnostic Switch is turned on, the yellow lamp will
illuminate firstly, about three seconds later the yellow lamp goes
off and the red begins to flash regularly. (For example, if the fault
code is 115, therefore the red flashes once, keeps off one second,
flashes once again, keeps off for one second again, then flashes five
times.) When a fault code is flashed completely, the red lamp stops
flashing and goes off, at the same time the yellow lamp illuminates.
Three seconds later, the yellow lamp goes off and the red lamp
flashes regularly again. Continue circulate ceaselessly like this. The
red lamp is used to flash fault codes, and the yellow lamp to
indicate one cycle of flashing fault codes ending.
The Increment/Decrement Switch on the switchboard is used
to sequence forward or backwards through the active faults. The
detail is: when the engine goes wrong, turn on the Diagnostic
Switch to enter the fault diagnosis mode. The two lamps begin to
flash; from the regular flash you can judge the concrete fault. Now
press the lower of the Increment/Decrement Switch, you will enter
the next fault mode. Similarly, you can judge the second fault from
the flash regular. Now press the Increment/Decrement Switch to
enter the third fault mode, judge the third fault. If press the upper of
the Increment/Decrement Switch, you will go back to the second
fault mode, press the upper again you will go back to the first

mode. By this way, you can look over faults of engine one by one.
If the engine has only one fault, the flash regular will be same in
every fault modes.

Transportation: stepping transportation and loading

1、Stepping transportation
The distance of stepping: commonly under 100 km
The distance of vehicle: between 30 m and 50 m.
2、Loading regulation:
Loading sizes: under 4.5 m from ground to the top of the
Grader.
Loading means: proper motion loading in normally case,
suspending loading in especially case.
☆ Proper motion loading:
The ground must be flat and the back of conveyance has
enough space (about 10m) to adjust the Grader direction. First stop
the conveyance, back tow truck, drive the Grader step on
conveyance, then brake. Finally fasten the Grader to conveyance.
☆ Suspending loading follow the hint map (fig. 10).

Suspending loading note:
● Shutting engine, pull out the key after loading equipment.
● Lock frond and rear frame by a bacilliform lock.
● When suspend Grader, cord must through suspending hook.
Frond frame has one suspending hook and rear frame has two
on left and right sides. Can’t suspend Grader only by one side
or intercross hook.
The power of suspend loading must be under the limitation of
suspending tool.

● During transportation, it is necessary to wedge tyres by chock
and bind tightly. Abide to weight, width and length of
transportation regulation.
NOTE: loading and unloading carefully.Don’t let anybody and

transportation.
Traction
1、Take up the traction rod at rear mate-weight, pull on the rope for
traction and put down the traction rod to original position.
Pay attention to this when doing traction:
Rope for traction must have been pulled on.
Be sure the braking system of vehicle being dragged is in gear;
otherwise don’t do this job.
If vehicle in trouble is dragged on the bad road. it will be
farther destroyed.
It just applies for dragging vehicle in trouble to check point,
not for far traction.
When our product is in trouble, please consult local XCMG
dealer for traction process.
Not to drag the machine unless in exigency. Take the process
as follow when dragging:
It needs to fill in blocks below wheels when braking system is
on the fly. It will prevent the machine from moving suddenly.
Put off hand brake when dragging, control the speed within
10km/h and distance not over 10km. Try to drag the machine to
nearest check point. You should use export trailer if it need to
move the grader for far way.
2、Check whether the dragrope or traction rod is strong enough to
support the weight of vehicle being dragging. If the vehicle would
pass mud or slope, it need two dragrope and one traction rod that
can support 1.5 multiple weight at lease.
Storage
Before Storing
If a grader needs to be stored for a long time, take the
following steps:
● Clean thoroughly the machine, have it be dry and store it in dry

storage house. If the machine has to be stored under open air,
then it should be stored on the concrete ground where it is easy
to drain off water, and cover it with canvas.
● Before storing it, fill up the fuel tank, add grease and change
hydraulic oil.
● Coat thin grease on the piston that extends out from hydraulic
cylinder.
● Dismount the negative pole of battery and close the battery box
cover. Or remove the battery from the machine and store it
separately.
● If the air temperature falls down below 0°C, add anti-freezing
addition into cooling water of the radiator.
● Put on the security lock and then lock articulation locking-bar.
After that engage the parking brake.
During Storage
1、Daily Parking:
Park the grader on a place, with its blade resting on the ground
horizontally. Try your best to keep the grader inside a dry
storage, and moisture must be avoided. If, because of condition
Limitation, the machine has to be kept outside, a shelter cloth
must be used to cover it.
Turn the ignition switch to "OFF" position, plug out the key
and keep it in a safe place.
After the ignition key being plugged out. Operate slowly the
control levers of the working mechanism for 2 to 3 times, so as
to release the remained pressure inside the cylinders and hoses,
and then leave them at their neutral positions.
Place the gear-shifting lever at neutral position, and the parking
brake must be engaged.
Lock the front and rear frame with the lock bar.
Lock all the parts that have locking key. Pull out the keys and
keep them safely.
In winter or cold weather ( when the environmental
temperature below 0°C ), anti-freezing addition must be
applied into the cooling water. Cooling water must be drained
out completely for those machines without anti-freezing
addition in the cooling system, so that the engine can be

protected from being cracked by ice.
2、Long Time Storage
The storage period for the machine can be short-term and
long-term. For short-term, the storage period should not be over
two months Over two months must be taken as a long -term
storage. The parking place for storage should be sheltered,
ventilated and dry and without any corrosive substances or gas.
Before storage, the exposed parts, such as cylinder pistons and
shaft should be greased for anti-corrosion. And before long -term
storage, the surfaces on the machine should also be sprayed with
wax to avoid being rusted.
3、Within one month:
Except those mentioned in the Daily Parking, the following
procedures must be noted:
Start and drive the machine every week, and operate its
working mechanism to let it be ready for work at any time.
4、Over one month:
Except those mentioned in Daily Parking, the following
procedures must also be noted:
Check all the oil levels and lubricating points to see if the oil
being in the level as required.
Considering the raining season, try your best to park the
machine on a hard ground of a higher place.
The battery must be removed.
Although the machine is stored indoor, if it is too hot or damp,
the battery must be dismounted to get it stored in a better place,
and charge it once a week.
Parts which moisture can easily get in (such as: ventilating
device and air filter) should be covered with a cloth.
The inflation pressure of the tyres must be standard. Check the
wear and damage of the tyres.In order to release the heavy load
on the tyres, it is better to jack up the machine to let it be in
float state.If the grader can't be jacked up, the inflation of the
tyres must be checked every two weeks to ensure the pressure.

Restore the machine into ready-work condition each week.
Start the engine and let it warm up, and then move the machine
back and forth a little bit. If you thank it is necessary to activate
the working mechanism, before you do it, the grease on the
cylinder rods must be cleaned away. And after such attempt,
apply grease to cylinder rods again.
Note : In case the anti-rusting substance is used to avoid
rust indoor, then door and windows must be opened to keep
poison gas away.
After a long time storage
● Move away all the protection coverings.
● Clean away the anti-rust grease on the exposed parts.
● Drain out the oil inside the engine, gearbox and driving axle,
and then wash them and refill with new oil.
● Drain out the debris and water from hydraulic oil tank and fuel
tank.
● Dismantle the pneumatic cylinder of the engine, and lubricate
the valve and rocker shaft. And check the working of each
valve.
● Fill the radiator with cooling water to the standard level.
● Charge the battery again and connect it to the wires.
● Adjust the inflation pressure of the tyres in accordance with the
road condition.
● Follow the checking procedures before operation.
● Warn up engine.
● Apply the grease to lubricating nipples.
