4. The circumference of the base of 10 m high conical tent is 44m. Calculate the length of the
canvas used in making the tent if width of canvas is 2 m.
5.From a solid cube of side 7 cm, a conical cavity of height 7 cm and radius is hollowed out. Find
the volume and surface area of remaining solid.
6.A right angled triangle whose sides are 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm is revolved about the sides
containing the right angle in two ways. Find the ratio of volumes of two cones so formed. Also,
find the difference of their curved surface area(π=3.14)
7.A student was asked to make a model shaped like a cylinder with two cones attached to its ends
by using a thin aluminium sheet. The diameter of the model is 3 cm and its total length is 12 cm. if
each cone has a height of 2 cm. find the volume of air contained in the model.
8. A company manufactures gas cylinders with hemispherical ends. The total length of the solid
cylinder is 19m and diameter of cylinder is 7 m. find the volume and surface area of the cylinder.
9.A juice seller serves his customers using a glass as shown below. The inner diameter of
cylindrical glass is 5 cm but the bottom of the glass has a hemispherical raised portion, which
reduces the capacity of the glass. If the height of the glass is 10 cm. find the apparent capacity of
the glass and its actual capacity.
10. Given a cylinder, cone having same radius of base and height equal to diameter of base. If
sphere of radius, equal to base of the cylinder is taken find the ratio of volume of a cylinder, a
acone and a sphere.
11.A circus tent was erected in a village for circus shows. Tent is cylindrical surmounted by a
conical tent. The diameter of circular tent is 120m and height 15 m. the total height of tent is 26 m.
find the canvas required to make the circus tent. If it costs Rs.200 per meter of length with
standard width of 15 m. find the total cost in erecting the tent.
12.Find the number of bricks, each measuring 25 cmX12.25cm X7.5 cm required to construct a

13.A farmer connects a pipe of internal diameter 20 cm from a canal into a cylindrical tank in his
field which is 10m in diameter and 2m deep. If water flows through the pipe at the rate of 6km/h,
in how much time will the tank be filled?
14.A cylindrical vessel with internal radius 5 cm and height 10.5 cm is full of water. A solid cone of
base radius 3.5 cm and height 6 cm is completely immersed in water. Find the volume of (i) water
displaced out of the cylindrical vessel (ii) water left in the cylindrical vessel.
15.In a solid cylinder whose height is 12 cm and base radius 3.5 cm. on one side. A conical cavity
of same radius and 7cm high and on the other side a hemisphere part of same radius have been
excavated. What is the total surface area of remaining solid? Use √61.25=7.83
