Farmers for Forests (F4F) is seeking a Full Time Employee for the position of Senior
Field Associate – Operations to manage agroforestry field operations. The SFA will
be responsible for supporting the Field Manager – Ops in managing the operations
team and in field data collection. We are looking for someone with 1 - 3 years of
experience in field operations.
About Us
F4F is a Hybrid Social Enterprise working to protect and increase India’s biodiverse
forest cover in close collaboration with rural communities. Founded in December
2019, F4F is one of the few organizations in India working in the forestry sector and
using a payment-for-ecosystem services model for its environmental protection and
restoration activities.
F4F was incubated at Mulago, Fast Forward, NSRCEL-IIMB, The Nudge Institute and
Shakti - The Empathy Project. Our work has been supported by several organizations
including Accenture, ACT Grants, Opus Software Solutions, Rainmatter Foundation
and Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies.
We have also featured on DW TV and Scroll's Eco India series as well as DW Hindi.
We have also been selected as one of India's top innovators working in the
ecosystem restoration and conservation sector by the World Economic Forum.
Position
The Senior Field Associate – Operations will be based at one of our field locations in
Maharashtra and be responsible for ensuring all field operations at F4F run smoothly
and efficiently across the assigned operational block. We are looking for a passionate
and experienced individual who is keen on working closely with Farmers/
communities.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Serve as a liaison between Gram Panchayat and other partner institutions
involved in the project
2. Identify and enroll new participants into the program. Assist farmers with
implementation (plantation / drip installation) and monitoring of the fields
throughout the year.
3. Conduct field surveys with community members and other rural land owners.
4. Helping the Field manager to Liaison with local bodies and government
officials.
5. Be the primary contact point between field manager and farmers to maintain
a healthy relationship.
6. Maintain a log of inputs provided to the Farmers and oversee Nursery
management.
7. Other related duties or work as assigned by the Field Manager.
Who We’re Looking For
1. Bachelor’s degree and above; background in Agri sector, rural development or
social work is a major advantage.
2. Good interpersonal skills and fluency in Marathi, Hindi and English; proficiency
in Marathi is mandatory.
3. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
4. Flexible, self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural
environment and establish harmonious relationships within communities.
5. Attention to detail and ability to adapt to unstructured or fast-changing
circumstances.
6. Basic Excel skills required. Should be able to do documentation using a
Smartphone.
7. Ability to manage high-level relationships with Farmers.
8. Ability and willingness to work in challenging field conditions.
9. Willingness to travel to multiple project locations in rural areas.
10. Valid driver's license and a motorcycle is mandatory.

Salary
The salary band for this position starts at INR 2,64,000 CTC. Actual salary will be
decided mutually on the basis of experience, skill and fit of the candidate with our
team and culture.
