Minutes of the discipline committee meeting with committee members


and council members on 12.07.2024.

Meeting was held on 12th of July 2024 in the Guest Lounge.

Agenda:

 Discussion on Father’s day feedback and suggestions.


 Review of canteen management.
 Addressing student grievances raised by student council members.

Members present:

Matters of Discussion:

 [Link] represented all council members to interchange


themselves stating their name and roles.
 [Link] asked council members for feedback on the Fathers
day event.
 [Link] questioned the involvement of staff members in
the student oriented Freshers day program.
 [Link] emphasized the need for critering in song and dance
selection,specifying allowed and prohibited types. She insisted
that mistakes in selection should not be repeated and all the
student president should oversee this.
 [Link] inquired about specific roles of council members in
the previous day’s program.
 [Link] asked about the payment for the sound system
used in the Fresher’s day program.
 The student council reported a payment of Rs 11,400 , including
damage charges.
 [Link] adviced using the college sound system instead of
outsourcing.
 [Link] instructed council members to prepare and discuss
on agenda with the cultural committee coordination before any
event. She emphasized confirming the details of program to be
performed on specific days.
 [Link] cautioned council members to be mindful of their
words during program, avoiding bullying on indirect comments
about staff. He suggested maintaining a standard program and
avoiding repetitive performance, specially by the same
participants.
 [Link] instructed that program should be planed to last up to 1
or 1 1/2 hours.
 All council members must be present at every program
conducted.
 Financial planning should be done properly, making use of
available college resources.
 Financial matters should be accountable an transparent to all
council members.
 Every council members should be able to answer financial
questions related to the program.
 Discipline committee feedback from Freshers day should be
passed on to juniors for the Thanksgiving program.
 Council members should remain united and solve internal
problem as a team.
 Rehearsals must be conducted with the cultural committee.

regulations.
 [Link] Jemimal , a student council member , suggested
implementing white tops and black pants for uniform days
because not all girls have the same shade of blue jeans.
 [Link] reported that decision on uniform colors will be made
with the sister principal.
 A suggestion from the student council propose in that ID Cards
be made vertical, as the current format feels too much like a
school ID Card.
 Issues regarding mobile usage were discussed, If a mobile is
caught during class hours, It will not be returned for 15 days.
 The student council suggested collecting a total cultural fee for
the entire semester to be included in the college fee making it
convenient for planning.
 [Link] advised the council members to plan a budget and
prevent it to the sister principal.
 [Link] stated that ID Card photos will be taken only in
college uniforms.
 The student council is asked to open an official group for all
first year students.
 [Link] suggested that no sarees should be worn on freshers
day due to student inexperience in wearing them properly. A
specific color code will be implemented instead.
 [Link] adviced the student council to create a work plan
among themselves.
 [Link] stated that an assembly will be held at 9:15 am and all
council members must attend to organize and maintain
discipline committee members will assist the council members.
 Sports students must attend classes if there are scheduled sports
programs,as only regular sports are allowed.
 Ms. Viveki Jemimal commented that the napkin machine is not
working and canteen napkin is too costly, offering only one pad
for emergency use will be convenient.
 [Link] discussed measures to address latecomers.
 There was a call for respectful communication between canteen
staff and both student and council and committee interactions at
the counter be handles exclusive by [Link] for efficiency in
monetary transactions.
 Concerns were raised about the quality of food served in the
canteen ,prompting consideration by committee members.
 [Link] suggested exploring the possibility of reducing
prices as some items are perceived to be too expensive.
 There was a proposal to establish a canteen committee to
oversee pricing and manage the selection of items sold. This
proposal will be presented to the principal for approval.
 Regarding medical care, it was emphasized that students should
not exp3ct to recive tablets or medications from the [Link]
basic first aid will be provided.
 Council members are tasked with informing all students about t
he policy, including the restriction on reciving even common
medications like paracetamol.
 The issues of uniform comfort was discussed, particularly
regarding the neckline. It was suggested that in future, the
uniform neck could be slightly higher to alleviate discomfort.
 Third year students facing uniform issues were given
permission to wear their blazers to address the current uniform
neckline problem.
 Plans were discussed to paint the volleyball and football courts
and to ensure maintaince of taps across the campus.
 It was emphasized that students should inform their subject
teachers if they need to leave the class for any reason and seek
permission accordingly.

involving class representatives,committee members and the
student council.
