The Agricultural Marketing Authority (AMA) is a statutory Body under the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and
Rural Development that was established in terms of the Agricultural Marketing Authority Act (Chapter18:24). AMA has a
mandate to regulate, supervise, develop and administer the marketing of agricultural products.
The Agricultural Marketing Authority (AMA) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill
the vacant positions as follows:
1. FIELD OFFICER (BULAWAYO)
JOB SUMMARY
The Field Officer will be expected to cover parts of Matabeleland North and South Provinces and will be stationed at the
Bulawayo Office reporting directly to the Field Crops /Horticulture and Livestock Expert and indirectly to the Agribusiness
Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent’s key responsibilities shall include but not limited to:
Enforcing compliance on statutory measures on registrations, marketing procedures, records, returns, pest and
disease control as well as weeding out illegal agricultural imports.
Forging sustainable market linkages of farmers with buyers, contractors, traders, processors, abattoirs in both crop
and livestock sectors.
Monitoring of commodity and input markets, including carrying out market research.
Identifying and conducting training on agriculture and, value chain development to targeted communities in the
areas of operation.
Preparing budgets for trainings, awareness campaign sessions and various natural resources related matters within
the region.
Participating in regional crop & livestock assessments exercises, agricultural input support verification exercises and
carrying out supply and accessibility surveys.
Identifying, inducting, deploying and supervising Common Input Distribution Point/Common Buying Clerks and Depot
Clerks on farmer registrations, input disbursement and purchases of contracted crop.
Coming up with a consolidated database of farmers contracted by contractors.
Monitoring and Evaluation of farmer activities from production to marketing, including the provision of agronomy
services.
Marketing and representing the Authority by attending meetings, field days, agricultural shows, workshops as well as
cooperation and collaboration with other sister departments when giving service delivery.
Preparation of weekly and monthly reports and sending them to the Head Office
Undertaking any other duties as assigned by management from time to time.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Diploma in Agriculture and /or Degree in Agriculture/Agronomy/Animal Science
At least 3 years working experience in agricultural sector.
Clean class 3/4 Driver’s license.
A high degree of technical competence.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Results oriented, innovative, analytical and an excellent team player.
Fluency in local languages.

2. EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE AGRIBUSINESS DIRECTOR
JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Assistant will provide efficient and reliable Secretarial and office management services. To perform this job
successfully the individual is expected to handle highly sensitive and confidential financial, legal and institutional
information while exercising professionalism and discretion. The incumbent will be reporting directly to the Agribusiness
Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and maintain Director’s extremely active calendar of appointments, schedules and travel arrangements.
Exercise discretion in committing time and evaluating needs
Processing traders and merchants’ certificates using the online application system
Schedule management weekly meetings; assist on the preparation and distribution of meeting agenda and materials.
To provide Secretarial services to the director and support in the execution of strategic functions in-order to achieve
defined strategic objectives.
To provide administrative services to the Director’s office and effectively and timeously achieve set objectives such as
office management and record keeping.
Routinely perform a wide variety of supports duties.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Diploma in Secretarial/Business Administration
Bachelor’s Degree in Business /Office Administration is an added advantage
3 years proven working experience in supporting senior Management
Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Pays attention to detail and has good interpersonal skills

3. AGRIBUSINESS GRADUATE TRAINEE
The Agricultural Marketing Authority is calling on all self-motivated and dynamic graduates to apply for the position of
Graduate Trainee in the Agribusiness Department. This programme is aimed to offer unemployed graduates an
opportunity to acquire practical work experience through mentorship and exposure in the agribusiness field.
Expectations of the Trainee Programme
Over the period of 18 months, the Trainee will get exposure from experienced mentors, supportive colleagues, and experts.
The trainee will support management on a range of exciting projects and will be able to acquire professional,
methodological and technical skills. Following the successful completion of the programme and if a suitable vacancy is
available, you may subsequently assume a position of responsibility at AMA. The Trainee will be stationed at the Head
Office in Harare.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree (2.1 and above) in Agribusiness Management, Agriculture, Agricultural Economics or related Field.
Not more than 3 years outside school following attainment of the qualification
Data analytics and visualization would be a strong advantage
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
Should be proficient in written and spoken English and Shona
High integrity
Interest in the Agriculture sector
Entrepreneurial drive
Leadership and interpersonal skills
Not older than 28 years as of March 2025
Have a clean class 4 Driver’s license.
