axial force F=150kN. The Young's modulus of the material is E=210GPa. Using the
Variational Method, determine the axial displacement of the bar.
4. A copper rod of length L=3 m and cross-sectional area A=0.005m2 is subjected to an
axial tensile force F=80kN. The Young's modulus of copper is E=120GPa. Using the
Variational Method, calculate the axial displacement of the rod.

Solve the following question stiffness Method.

1. A truss element is subjected to axial loading. The member has a length of L=5m and
a cross-sectional area of A=0.01m2. The material has a Young's modulus of
E=[Link] the local stiffness matrix for the truss element.

members connect. The members have the following properties. Member 1: Length
L1=5 m, Cross-sectional area A1=0.02 m2, Young’s modulus E1=200 GPa. Member 2:
Length L2=3 m, Cross-sectional area A2=0.015 m 2, Young’s modulus E2=250 GPa.
