Our University is organizing a cultural festival (Nootan Udaan-2025), common for all the
colleges managed by our trust and University, Details of the event follow;
A.) STAGE EVENTS ( /02/2025, 5:30 pm onwards, Open Air Theatre)

General rules for stage events

*Under no conditions, the performance should fall outside the specified time limit.
*The themes/contents for performance shall not be objectionable/controversial/indecent
/abusive/politically-inclined or blasphemous.
*The participant(s) in dance category can perform on either single or Multiple tracks
(Max.limit of 3 Tracks) but for singing category the performance is limited strictly to
single song .No mash-up or multiple song shall be allowed in singing category.

RULES FOR SPECIAL CATEGORY EVENTS

1. OPEN MIC
 Any student from Our University can perform (Solo or in Group).
 Venue of Open Mic will be Dental College Garden on -----10:00 a.m. to 12:30a.m.
 Open Mic is not a part of any competition.
 Any student can perform Solo song, solo dance, Group dance, Mimicry
 Those students whose dance or song performance is being selected in Final Stage event
cannot perform during Open Mic.

2. FOOD FIESTA
 Two entries per institute wise are allowed for participation.
 This event is only for a single day-,------------- 2025
 Fixed booking token amount is ₹500 for each team. Two tables, electric plug and space for
food joint will be provided to each team on the day of the event.
 Venue- Central Lawn (Behind Diploma Building) or Connected Internal Road (Between
Central Lawn & Dental College)
 Menu of Food items will be submitted to Team Manager of the institute prior to work in
progress.
 Only selling of live food is allowed. Only primary preparation can be carried out at home.
 No prepackaged or ready-made food items are allowed in the store.
 Selling price of each food item will be decided by the participating team only.
 Judgment of competition will be given on the same day. Total two prizes for the
competition.
 Any Changes in above rules will be conveyed to Team manager in well advance.
RULES FOR OTHER CATEGORY EVENTS

[1]. FINE ARTS EVENT

On the Spot Painting:


 Solo Participation
 Event will be conducted on the spot and participants will be requested to do painting on the
subject given by the In-charge(s) of the competition.
 The time allowed for the activity is maximum 2 hours.
 Size of the painting will be half imperial size drawing paper i.e. 22 inches X 15 inches.
 Painting can be done using oil, water, and poster or pastel colors.
 Candidate shall bring their own materials like brushes, paints etc. Only the Paper/ sheet will be
provided.

Rangoli:
 Each group of two participants
 Open Theme event.
 The time allowed for the activity is maximum 2 hours
 Participants shall bring their own material. For this the medium and form for expression
can be free hand, pictorial and descriptive.
 Only one medium shall be used – Poster Colours or Flower Petals or Saw- dust or Pulses
or Rice without pasting.
 The Participants shall have to prepare a rangoli within a box of 3’ x 3’

Collage:
 Solo participation
 Event will be conducted on the spot on the given topic/subject, sheet size 15” X 22”.
 The time allowed for the activity is maximum 2 hours.
 Participants shall bring their own scissors, pasting and other material required for the contest.
 Collage has to be prepared from old magazines. Drawing paper of the size 22” X 15” shall
be provided to the participants

Best out of Waste


 Only waste material shall be used for the purpose of the competition
 Maximum Two Participant in each team.
 Other than waste material, glue, other adhesives, pins and colors can also be used
 All the required materials have to be brought by the participants themselves. No
materials shall be provided by the institute
 The activity time duration is 2:00 hours
 Judges reserve the right to disqualify any art work if the major material used is not
waste material
 Participants are not allowed to bring any structure partly or fully made. All the art
work needs to be prepared only during the specific event time slot.
[2].LITERETURE EVENTS
Elocution:
 Medium of expression will be Hindi or English.
 Solo participation
 Each speaker will be allowed to speak for maximum five minutes.
 Subject / Topic of Elocution will be announced 2 days in advance from the date of event
 The participant has to use only a single language, mixing of languages shall not be allowed.
 The item shall be prose or poetry and not song.
 The sequence of speakers will be decided by a draw of lots.

Debate:
 Each team will be represented by the two debaters; one will speak FOR, while another
will speak AGAINST the motion.
 Medium of expression shall be Hindi or English.
 Topic of Debate will be announced 2 days in advance.
 Each debater will be allowed to speak for maximum five minutes
 The competitor from each Institute will speak FOR and AGAINST the motion.
 Paper reading is not allowed.

Mehendi Competition
 Participant should come with accomplished 
 Open Theme
 Solo participation
 Bring your own cones 
 Time limit – 45 minutes 
 Candidates should not use any decorative glitter etc.

Salad Decoration
 Each group of two students
 Open Theme
 Participants shall bring the required materials (Vegetables/Fruits etc.) for the
carving/decoration
 Duration will not be more than 1 hours 30 minutes

Short Film Competition:


 Open theme for short film
 Time Duration of Film – 10 Minutes Maximum
 Maximum 4 Students per team.
 Originality of the contents is important. Copy of existing copyrights/contents will be liable to
disqualification and other serious punishments.
 The film shall be made before cultural event.
 Students can use any locations & characters of their choice.
 The film with original content, creativity and positive message will be given priority in the
judgment of competition.
 Students can take support from different organizations if required.

Photography Competition:
 There are three themes for the competition: Nature, Landmark and Visnagar City.
 From the above three themes any one theme is allowed per participant.
 The photograph must be in its original state and cannot be altered in any way, including but
not limited to removing, adding, reversing, or distorting subjects within the frame.
 Violators will be removed from the competition, stripped of any prize(s), and banned from
entering future contests.
 Only one entry is allowed per participant.
 The photograph must be original and no watermark of any kind should be on the photograph.
 Participants may submit colour or black and white photograph in either Landscape or Portrait
mode.
 Photographs that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust,
cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will be disqualified
 A caption must be given for the photograph.

Reel making Competition:


 The reel must be an original creation. You can only be inspired by existing trends online.
Plagiarized content lead to disqualification. Any offensive, name-calling, derogatory
remarks, and/or regional slang towards any person or community should not be used.
 Participants have to create and submit to their team leader of the institute a reel video on
the theme “Campus Life at SPU”
 The Organizing Committee reserves the right to disqualify any entry based on its
discretionary powers.
 The video should be original and creative. There should not be any copyright issue.
 Participants have to post their reel on their personal Social Media accounts with tagging the
official Social Media page of SPU with #spuudaan2025.

Important Note-

 Except Signature Day, all Days celebrations will be a part of University level competition.

 Each Team Manager of the institute has to select two best entries from the institute and have to
send participants of the selected entries to Dental Auditorium on the same day at 12:00
afternoon without fail. Late entries will not be considered for competition. 

 Judgment will be given on the same day.
