PREAMBLE#
I am Alhaji Musa Sale, the Senior Ward Head of Anguwan Hausawa Tudun
Wada Jos, Plateau State. I am 102 years, resident of the Anguwan Hausawa
Community Tudun Wada Jos for over 70yrs approximately. I am 50 years old as
the ward head of Anguwan Hausawa Tudun Wada Jos.
With the help of Almighty God, and our sacrifice, I stood behind the Afizere
people up to court to ensure they have taken the traditional leadership of the
district and also convince other tribes to join us in the struggles, God’s willing it
became a reality.
Due to certain interest, one fateful day I was told that my position was given to
my representative and my stamp is now invalid and I was told that if my stamp
was seen on any paper legal action will be taken against me.
The district head Adagwom Peter Nyam as a leader of all should make
consultations before making this decision. Despite efforts by my subject to
confront the decision violently and immediately summons a meeting and ask
them to calm down. And all efforts will be in place to address the situation.
I want to use this style to acquaint you with what happen from day one
a. WRITING OF A LETTER
I deem it fit to write a formal letter and address it to all necessary authorities to
inform them that due to age and health challenges, I cannot be able to be
attending meetings and other functions. I directed a letter to be written to the
Honourable Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and
was copied to various offices and institutions that i am partnering in ensuring
peaceful coexistence and development within Tudun Wada and beyond
including the office of the District Head. It is later discovered that there were
mistakes with the letter written and admitted by me the writer of the letter
unintentionally addressed the office of the Mai Anguwa which supposed to be
Senior Ward Head but it was address as Senior Village Head and due to an
oversight during the typing of the letter it is captured the District Head of
Anguwan Hausawa instead of District Head Tudun Wada, Jos and it is also
misinterpreted the concepts of loss of memory which was misinterpreted as
madness or state of insanity.
The intention of the letter was solely to notify all necessary authorities that I
will be presenting my son Mallam Ibrahim Musa to be standing for me in order
not to hold the entire community to ransom in terms of any needs that might
arise.
ADAGWOM PETER NYAM CLAIMS AND IMPOSITION
The district head claims that he has been disrespected saying that the letter
should be addressed to him not the Honourable Commissioner of Local
Government and Chieftaincy Affair.
He also stated that the Angwan Hausawa has introduced his counter part that is
another district head.
He concluded that the ward head is been promoted to village head
He also stated that and stood firm that loss of memory is madness but
surprisingly he admitted on the term health challenges and age.
He stated that ward head is not inheritance but the same pattern was
instituted in Tudun Wada specifically in Mado Village and he himself
inherited the position from his family clan.
HIS ACTION
The district head immediately withdrew the stamp of the exiting senior ward
head of Anguwan Hausawa in place of Mal. Musa Sale and gave an acting ward
head a stamp and threaten to take legal action against the existing senior ward
head (Mal. Musa Sale)
THE COMMUNITIES REACTION
On receiving the news on the decision of the district head Adagwom Peter
Nyam through the delegations of youth and elders from the meeting held in his
residence on the issue, there were tensions which took the leadership time to
calm down the tension. Effort had been made to reach to him through different
delegations to make him see reasons to reverse the decision and its categorically
stated the initial letter will be withdrawn and apologies be given to him over the
mistakes made and also copied the apology letter to all places the initial letter
reached. But he categorically stated he will not reverse the decision, he further
emphasizes that Yunusa Ganjuwa is the acting ward head of Anguwan
Hausawa, Tudun Wada and only his stamp he will be approving Even if the
people of Anguwan Hausawa likes it or not. Technically, he is imposing him on
the community, notably the same acts was attempted in various Christian
communities and it did not work out for him, why is Anguwan Hausawa
different? Is it because we are Muslims and the minority?
The reasons why and myself the people of Anguwan Hausawa are against the
imposition of the acting ward head by the district head is because of the
following reasons:
1. Insubordination: The impose acting ward head (Yunusa Ganjuwa) has
not been longer loyal, is over a year or more that he has not been given
any report to me or the community.
2. There has been allegations of transaction that is not legal and without
the knowledge of myself as a senior ward head.
3. It is also discovered there were certains fair share of my gift from
different qurta but he diverted it to its personal needs. I must stayed here
there has been series of complains about him which led to his
suspension by me as my representative (Wakili) and later reinstated as
my Wakili after been warned by me due to the intervention by critical
stakeholders.
