Chestnut Hall Rates
Founders Hall: Seats 1,000 guests in chairs, or up to 600 at tables. Has roll up glass doors all the way around, large fans, heated in
colder months, sorry, no AC currently but in our near future plans. Also has a large fireplace and includes use of the lit entry pavilion,
back patio, two bathroom huts, and outdoor spaces. Founders Hall comes with tables and chairs for 250 guests. Perfect for any event
over 90 guests. Founders Hall has a $800-$1,000 rental deposit.
Chestnut Hall: Seats 90 guests in chairs, or a cozy 70-80 at tables in a spacious meeting room. Includes an ample catering kitchen, two
changing suites, 3 bathrooms, large wrap-around porch, and outdoor fire pit. Chestnut Hall comes with tables and chairs for 80 guests.
Chestnut Hall has a $300-$500 rental deposit.
**BOTH BUILDINGS HAVE A $500-$1,000 SECURITY DEPOSIT, REFUNDABLE AFTER EVENT, PENDING BUILDING AND GROUNDS INSPECTION**
Vendors: At The Commons, we have an open vendor policy which means YOU have the freedom to choose who you want to help with
your event. This gives you creative leeway and an opportunity to choose a vendor that fits your budget.

Before you rent, please understand that :
A) We do not rent either hall by the hour, but rather by the day. That way you have plenty of time to set up, enjoy your event, and
clean-up without strict time constraints. An exception would be an early morning event with the building empty by 1:00pm.
B) Founders Hall seats 600 comfortably at round tables, Chestnut Hall holds a cozy 80.
C) Tables and Chairs for up to 250 guests are included, but you set up and take down. There are many rental companies if you
need more tables and chairs for your event. If needed, we do offer set up and take down services. Prices vary.
D) All rates listed are for one day from morning through evening.
E) Except for rare instances, both buildings are expected to be vacated by midnight.
F) Loud music must be turned down by 10:30. The Commons is surrounded by residential areas, including a retirement community,
and the Collegedale has a noise ordinance that kicks in at 10:30
G) A non-refundable booking deposit ($300/Chestnut Hall and $800-$1,000/Founders Hall) is required to secure the event date.
The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your event. There is no fee to reschedule a date, however, if circumstances
warrant a change.
H) Each rental has a refundable security deposit ($500-$1,000) returnable after your event, pending venue inspection. Event space
is expected to be left neat and clean, trash taken to the dumpster, kitchen surfaces wiped down, spills mopped, etc.
I) Parties and weddings in Founders Hall require a $200 Hospitality fee. However, the hospitality staff will be on hand during your
event to assist you in whatever way they can, like helping with trash, running errands, making sure everything is in working order,
keeping bathrooms stocked and clean, etc.
J) Event Insurance is required for all events with more than 90 guests in attendance or any event where alcohol is served.
K) Alcoholic beverages are allowed, as long as they are in compliance with TN Law:
[Link]. R. & Regs. 0100-03.2- A license or permit is not required for an event where alcoholic beverages are served if:
(1) The event is private and includes a bona fide guest list restricting access to invited guests only;
(2) The hosts or bona fide guests of the event are providing all of the alcoholic beverages;
(3) All alcoholic beverages are served without charge;
(4) There is no admission cost for the event, including ticket price, required donation, or door charge; and
(5) There is no commercial purpose related to the sale, marketing, or promotion of alcoholic beverages for the private
party or event.
