1. Detailed CEN-08/2024 will be uploaded and the Link for submission of online application will be live on the
official websites of the RRBs listed at para 21.0 (A) of this CEN.
2. Date for CBT and result of CBT will be uploaded on the official websites of the RRBs listed at para 21.0 (A)
of this CEN.
3. Dates for PET, Document Verification, Medical Examination and Empanelment shall be intimated from
time to time through the websites of Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs) listed at para 21.0 (B) of this CEN.
ONLINE applications are invited by RRBs on behalf of RRCs from eligible Indian Nationals and other nationals
as brought out at Para 4 of this CEN for various posts in Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix in various units of
Indian Railways. Applications complete in all respect should be submitted ONLINE to the chosen Railway
Recruitment Board till 23.59 hrs of 22.02.2025.
DETAILS OF VACANCIES AT A GLANCE
The summary of vacancies for various posts is furnished below for reference. Further, the parameters
(Qualification, Medical standard and Suitability of the post for PwBD etc.) of various posts included in the
CEN are at Annexure A and the Railway and post wise vacancy for all the notified posts is at Annexure B.
However, Railway reserves the right to revise these vacancies in part or full.

1) Candidates should ensure that they possess/fulfill all eligibility conditions prescribed for the post(s)
as on the closing date of submission of online application i.e. as on 22.02.2025. CANDIDATES
WAITING FOR FINAL RESULTS OF PRESCRIBED EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION WHOSE FINAL
RESULTS WILL BE DECLARED AFTER THE CLOSING DATE OF ONLINE SUBMISSION OF APPLICCATION

2) Before filling up of the online application, candidates are advised to thoroughly read the entire
instructions and information in the CEN contained in this notification and available on the websites of
RRBs.
3) Candidates are advised to visit only official websites of the RRBs/RRCs indicated at Para 21.0 (A &
B) of this CEN and be very cautious about fake websites and job racketeers. Date for CBT and result
of CBT will be uploaded on the official websites of the RRBs mentioned at para 21.0 (A) of this CEN.
Dates for PET, Document Verification, Medical Examination and Empanelment shall be intimated
from time to time through the websites of RRCs as listed at para 21.0 (B) of this CEN.
4) Candidates should have their own mobile number and valid & active personal email ID and keep
them active for the entire duration of recruitment as RRBs/RRCs shall send recruitment related
communications only through SMS and email till the recruitment is completely over. RRBs/RRCs
will not entertain any request for change of mobile number and e-mail address at any stage . Only
one ONLINE Registration is permitted through one mobile number and one email ID under this
CEN.
5) Applications are to be submitted ONLINE only through the link provided on RRB websites ONLY
listed at Para 21.0 (A) of this CEN. ONLY one application is required to be submitted to the selected
Railway for all its notified posts in this CEN. Candidates can apply to only one Railway. Application to
more than one Railway will lead to rejection of all the applications. Any attempt to submit more than
one application by a candidate against this CEN shall result in disqualification and debarment.
6) Candidates are required to go through the Post Parameter table and Vacancy table of this detailed
CEN No. 08/2024 to ascertain their eligibility before applying through online mode. Only thereafter
the candidates should exercise options for the Railways and post(s) within the Railway chosen as per
their eligibility. The selection of Railway once exercised shall be final.
7) Eligibility of the candidates will be considered only on the strength of the information furnished in
the ONLINE Application. Candidates need NOT send printouts of application or Certificates or copies
to RRBs concerned by post. If at any stage of recruitment or thereafter, it is found that any
information furnished by the candidate in his/her application is false/incorrect or the candidate has
suppressed any relevant information or the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria for the
post(s), his/her candidature will be rejected forthwith.
Candidates can modify the application particulars except Railway chosen, Email ID and Mobile
Number, even after submission of application, but within the last date of modification window for
correction in applications, by paying modification fee. However, after last date of modification
window for correction in applications (06.03.2025), RRBs shall not entertain any representation for
modification of the information furnished in the application.
8) Medical Fitness: Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the prescribed Medical Standards for the
post(s) they are opting for. It is to be noted by the candidates that in case the candidate is found to
be medically unsuitable for the opted post(s) at the time of appointment, alternative appointment
shall not be given.
9) Age Limit as on 01.01.2025.

The lower and upper age limits prescribed are indicated at Para 5.1 with relevant upper age
relaxation.
10) Crucial date for claim of SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/EBC status or any other benefit viz. fee concession,
reservation, age relaxation, etc., where not specified otherwise, will be the closing date for
submission of ONLINE applications against this CEN.
11) Center/City allocation for CBT/PET will depend upon technical and logistical feasibility. Candidates
may have to travel to other Cities/States for attending CBT/PET. Request for Change of Exam Centre
shall NOT be allowed under any circumstance.
12) During the ONLINE APPLICATION, candidates will be asked to Create an Account. If a candidate has
already Created an Account for any Indian Railways CEN of 2024, they should use same account
credentials to log in and apply for this CEN (i.e. CEN No. 08/2024) as well. If the candidate has not
Created an Account, he must first ‘Create an Account’ before proceeding to fill up the application for
this CEN. Candidates are advised to fill in the details required for account creation with utmost care,
as corrections of any kind will NOT be permitted once the account is created. Details filled in the
’Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and Email ID) cannot be modified at any stage
once the account is created. Candidates are advised, in their own interest to authenticate their
identity using Aadhar during the “Create an Account” stage. If they missed this stage, they can still
authenticate during the online application process by using the “Verify Aadhar" facility and providing
their Aadhar details. This action needs to be done any time before final submission of application.
This will facilitate a smoother process at different stages of recruitment for the candidates
themselves.
13) After the submission of the ONLINE application (complete in all respects), if a candidate wishes to
further modify, change or correct any detail except details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form (including
Email ID and mobile number) and Chosen Railway, he/she may do so by paying a modification fee of Rs.
250/-(non-refundable) for each occasion from 25.02.2025 to 06.03.2025 (23:59 hours). Details filled
in ‘Create an Account’ form (including Email ID and mobile number) and Chosen Railway cannot be
changed.
14) After 06.03.2025, RRBs shall not entertain any representation for modification of the information
furnished in the application.
15) To avoid last minute rush, candidates are advised in their own interest to register and submit ONLINE
application much before the closing date since there may be a possibility of inability/failure to log on
to the website of RRB concerned on account of heavy load on the internet or website during last days
of online registration.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS- EXAMINATION PROCESSES


1) Malpractices: Any candidate found using unfair means of any kind in the examination/CBT, sending
someone else in his/her place to appear in the examination, attempt to impersonate will be debarred
from appearing in all the examinations of all the RRBs/RRCs for lifetime. He/she will also be debarred
from getting any appointment in the Railways, and if already appointed, will be dismissed from

service. Such candidates are liable for legal prosecution also. [Attention is drawn to Act “THE PUBLIC
EXAMINATIONS” (PREVENTION OF UNFAIR MEANS) BILL, 2024 effective from 21.06.2024, available on

2) Banned items: Electronic gadgets like Mobile phones, Bluetooth, pen drive, laptops, calculators, wrist
watches or any other communication devices or pen/pencil, wallet/purses, shoes, belts and metallic
wears including ornaments etc. are strictly NOT allowed inside the exam hall. Any infringement of
this instruction shall entail summary rejection besides legal action including debarment from future
examinations. Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items
including mobile phones etc. to the venue of the examination, as arrangements for safe keeping
cannot be assured.
3) Stages of Exam: The exam shall be a single stage Computer Based Test (CBT). Railway Administration
however reserves the right to conduct the CBT in either single or multi stage mode. Candidates
qualifying in the CBT shall have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET). It will be followed by
Document Verification and Medical Examination.
4) Call Letters: Candidates will have to download the City and Date Intimations, e- Call Letters and
Travel Authority (wherever applicable) from the links provided on the official websites of RRBs/RRCs.
5) Normalization of Marks: Marks will be normalized for all the stages of exam involving multiple
sessions.
6) Short Listing for PET: Railway/RRC wise short listing of candidates for PET shall be done at the rate of
three times of the vacancies (may increase or decrease as per the requirement of Railway
Administration). The short listing for PET will be based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT.
Marks will be normalized for CBT involving multiple sessions.
7) Shortlisting of candidates for DV and Medical Examination shall be done Railway/RRC wise at the
rate of 1:1 of the vacancies for that Railway/RRC, which shall be based on their merit in CBT and
qualification in PET. The shortlisted candidates for DV shall be informed through official RRC websites
as well as via SMS and email (to their registered mobile number and email ID) to download their E-
call letters for appearing in DV.
8) Negative Marking: There shall be negative marking for incorrect answers in the CBT. 1/3 rd of the
marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
9) Calling of candidates more than number of vacancies: Candidates more than the prescribed number
of vacancies may be called for PET and/or the subsequent stages. This is to take care of candidates
not turning up and similar exigencies in the recruitment process. It may clearly be noted that calling
for and qualifying in PET and subsequent stages of DV and Medical Examination does not mean that
candidate will be empaneled or that he/she deserves a vested right to be considered for appointment
by Railways.

DETAILED CEN
1.0 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1.1 Admission to all stages of recruitment process shall be purely provisional, subject to the candidates
satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
1.2 Candidates must ensure that the proper photograph and signature of their own, as per the standard
specifications mentioned in the Notice are uploaded during the online application. Applications with
blurred /ineligible/non-standard photograph/signature are liable to be rejected when noticed at any
stage of recruitment process.

The mere issuance of an e-call letter does NOT imply that the candidature of the candidate has been
accepted for the subsequent stages of the recruitment process by the RRB. At the time of
examination, the appropriateness, authenticity & genuineness of their Photograph & Signature will
be verified along with the credentials of the candidate before allowing them to take the exam.
Credentials of the candidates will be verified along with authenticity of their submitted information
at subsequent recruitment stages i.e. PET/Medical Examination/Document Verification etc.

1.3 RRBs/RRCs conduct verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only
after the candidates have qualified in all the stages of examinations and are shortlisted for Document
Verification.
At the time of Document Verification, the RRC will verify the details provided in the online application
against the original supporting documents submitted by the candidates. Any discrepancy between
the information declared in the application and the supporting documents OR failure to meet the
eligibility criteria (such as educational qualification, age, caste/category, medical standards) will
result in the rejection of the candidature. Furthermore, if at any stage of recruitment or afterward, it
is discovered that the candidate has provided false information or suppressed material facts, his/her
candidature or appointment will be cancelled immediately.
1.4 Before applying for the post(s) against this notification, candidates should satisfy themselves that
they fulfill all the eligibility norms including age, educational qualification(s) and medical standard(s).
Candidates should ensure that they have requisite qualifications from recognized Board/Institute as
on the closing date for submission of online application i.e. 22.02.2025. Those awaiting results of
the final examination for the prescribed qualification are not eligible and hence should not apply.
1.5 Applications of candidates who attempt to apply with minor changes of information and/or facts to
more than one Railway and/or multiple applications to the same Railway will be summarily rejected
and such candidates will be debarred from all future examinations of RRB and RRC.
1.6 Candidates should enter their Name, Father's Name and Date of Birth as recorded in the SSLC/
Matriculation certificate only. However, candidates with ITI /NAC qualification alone can enter
these details as per the ITI/NAC certificate.
(a) In cases of name change, candidates should indicate their changed name as well as name
mentioned in 10thClass/ matriculation certificate separately at appropriate places in the ONLINE
application. However, other details should match with the Matriculation or Equivalent certificate.
Date of such change (or) application for such change should be prior to the date of ONLINE
application.
(b) Gazette Notification or any other legal document as applicable for such cases should be
submitted at the time of Document Verification (DV).
1.7 Candidates who have been debarred by any RRB/RRC either for life or for a specified period which is
not yet completed should NOT apply for this notification. Their candidature will be rejected during
any stage of recruitment as and when detected. Candidates who have been dismissed from service by
the Government of India / State Government / PSU / any other Government Organizations are not
eligible and should not apply.
1.8 Signatures of the candidates on all documents should be identical in all stages of recruitment process
and must be in running handwriting and not in block/ all capital or disjointed letters. Signatures in
different style at the time of CBT/PET/DV etc., may result in cancellation of candidature.
Note: The Signature must be signed by the applicant only. The applicant’s signature obtained at the
time of exams and/ or DV and/or Medical should match with the online application signature. In case
it is found that there is mismatch of signature, his/her candidature may be cancelled. Further, legal
prosecution may be initiated and candidate will be debarred for life time for Railway recruitments by
RRBs/RRCs.

1.9 Dates of CBT/PET/DV will also be published on the websites of participating RRBs/RRCs. Thereafter, E-
Call letters for the CBT/PET/DV should be downloaded ONLY from official websites of the RRBs/RRCs
concerned. No call letter will be sent by post. The CBT/PET/DV center, date and shift indicated in the
E-call letter shall be final, and no request for change of date/time/place will be entertained.
RRBs/RRCs reserve the right to introduce additional CBTs and/or PET, additional DV etc. without
assigning any reason.
1.10 Vacancies indicated in the CEN are provisional and may increase or decrease or even may become NIL
in total or in specific communities/posts/units at a later stage depending upon the actual needs of
the Railway Administration. Also, additional posts if required by the railway(s) may also be included
at later stage.
The Railway Administration also reserves the right to cancel the notified vacancies at its discretion
and such decision will be final and binding on all. In the event of cancellation of notified vacancies,
the examination fee paid by the candidates will not be refunded except for candidates of
exempted categories who have attended the CBT. Refer para 7.0 for fee exempted categories.
1.11 Preference for Post(s) and/or Railway(s)/Unit(s): The options from the candidates for various posts
for which they are eligible in the opted Railway, shall be taken during submission of ONLINE
applications.
On completion of all stages of recruitment process, RRCs shall allot post & Railway/Unit as per the
option of the eligible candidates ONLY subject to merit, medical standard and vacancy position. Once
candidates have been empaneled as per their merit/choice, they will forfeit the right to be
considered for any other post/category.
Candidates with partial option will be considered only for the specific categories opted by them. In
case, no option is given for certain posts, it would be considered as their unwillingness for the same.
However, RRCs also reserve the right to allot post/Railway/Unit not opted by the candidates, if
considered necessary in administrative interest, subject to the candidate(s) meeting the
requirements of the post concerned.
In case of shortfall in empanelment of candidates or other exigencies, RRC reserves the right to utilize
the candidates down the merit list if required, as per the merit and option of the candidates. This
however will not confer any vested right on such candidates to be considered for appointment.
1.12 Right to Appointment: Selection by RRB/RRC does not confer upon the candidates any right of
appointment in the Railways. The function of the RRB/RRC is to recommend names of suitable
candidates to the concerned authorities of the Zonal Railway who in turn issue the offer of
appointment letter subject to availability of vacancies and satisfying all eligibility criteria including
character and antecedents.
1.13 Selected candidates will have to execute Security and/or indemnity bond wherever necessary at the
time of joining in Railways.
1.14 Posting: Ordinarily, a Railway servant shall be employed throughout service on the Railway or
Railway establishment in which he/she is posted on first appointment and shall have no claim as a
right for transfer to another Railway or another establishment. However, a Competent Authority can
transfer the Railway servant to any other department or Railway establishment, including a project in
or out of India, in the exigencies of service. No request for transfer to other Railway would be
registered till the newly appointed candidate completes at least 5 to 10 years of service. Candidates
are thus advised to choose their Railway with due care and consideration.
1.15 Selected candidates who are finally appointed are liable for active service in Railway Engineers' Unit
of Territorial Army.

1.16 Free Train Travel Facility: Free Sleeper Class Railway Pass is admissible to SC/ST candidates. SC/ST
candidates who wish to avail free travel authority will have to indicate ‘Yes’ in the relevant column in
the ONLINE application and upload valid caste certificate. For such candidates, free Sleeper Class
Railway Pass will be part of E-call letter when they are called for various stages of recruitment viz.
CBT/PET/DV (as applicable) as per the details furnished and uploaded in ONLINE application. It is the
responsibility of the candidates availing free travel authority to give the correct name of the Railway
Station in online application, failing which their travel authority may not be valid for travel and
obtaining reservation.
At the time of obtaining reservation and travelling, the Reservation Clerk and/or Ticket Checking Staff
will ask for the original SC/ST community certificate for verification of genuineness of the candidate.
Any attempt to misuse this travelling authority shall lead to rejection of candidature at any stage of
the selection process including debarment for future examinations conducted by RRBs/RRCs and
any other legal consequences.
1.17 RRBs/RRCs reserve the right to incorporate any subsequent changes/ modifications/ additions/
deletions in the terms and conditions of recruitment under this CEN as necessitated and applicable.
1.18 RRBs/RRCs may share, with the consent of the candidates, the scores obtained by them in RRB/RRC
exams with other Ministries/Departments/Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) and Private
organizations, for recruitment in their organizations. Candidates may give their consent for the same,
or otherwise, in the ONLINE application.
2.0 VACANCIES
2.1 The Post Parameters (Qualification, Medical Standard and Suitability of the post for PwBD etc.) of
various posts are included in this CEN at Annexure A.
2.2 The Railway and post wise vacancies for all the notified posts including reservation of vacancies for
SC, ST, OBC (Non creamy layer), EWS, ExSM, CCAA and PwBD are at Annexure B.
2.3 Candidates may please note that these vacancies may increase or decrease as per the requirement of
Railway Administration (Please refer Para 1.11 of General Instructions).
3.0 MEDICAL STANDARDS FOR THE POSTS
Candidates called for DV will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway
Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with
the post(s) opted by them. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of
Railway staff. The medical requirements against different medical standards for different categories
are outlined below:

surgery or any other surgery procedure to correct refractory error are not eligible for the post
having Medical Standards A-2 & A-3. However, candidate with LASIK Surgery may be eligible for Medical
Standard B-1, B-2, C-1 and C-2 subject to the following criteria being met: 1) No complications related to LASIK
Surgery are observed in the Candidate. 2) LASIK Surgery should be at least of one year duration and the same
should be substantiated with a medical certificate issued by the specialist of the Institution where Surgery was
performed. 3) “Residual Corneal Thickness” post LASIK Surgery should not be less than 425 microns on
Pachymetry. 4) The visual acuity as per Para 512(1) (A) of IRMM, Vol.-I, Third Edition 2000. 5) Fundus should
be normal. 6) No evidence of progressive Eye disease.

4.0 NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIP:
4.1 A candidate must be either:
a. a citizen of India, or
b. a citizen of Nepal, or
c. a subject of Bhutan, or
d. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of
permanently settling in India, or
e. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African

5.3 If a candidate is eligible for relaxation of age on more than one ground, he/she would be accorded

6.0 EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:


Please see Annexure-A for the prescribed qualifications for each post.
(a) Candidates must already have the Educational/Technical qualifications prescribed in the CEN
from recognized Institute/University as on the last date (i.e. 22.02.2025) for submission of
ONLINE application.
(b) Those awaiting results of their final examination of the prescribed minimum
educational/technical qualification SHOULD NOT apply.
(c) Diploma /Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act
Apprentices/ITI for the post of Level-1 unless otherwise specified. Graduate Act apprentice will
not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA).
(d) In compliance of Hon’ble Supreme Court order dated 12.07.2016 in Review Petition (Civil) Nos.
1954-1955 of 2016 in civil Appeal Nos. 5874-5875 of 2015 titled as Mohan Singh & others v/s
Chairman, Railway Board & others, Judgement dated 03.08.2015 passed by Hon’ble Supreme
Court, New Delhi; canteen staff of MB Division NR are allowed to apply against this CEN. Giving
weightage to work experience of these staff, their Education Qualification is relaxed. Minimum
Education Qualification should be class-VIIth Pass.
7.0 EXAMINATION FEE
Candidates applying for the posts in this CEN have to pay the prescribed fee as per their category,
detailed below:

7.1 Modes of Payment of Fee
a) ONLINE fee payment only through internet banking, debit/credit cards or UPI etc. will be
accepted. All applicable service charges shall be borne by the candidate.
b) Fee can be paid by the candidates through ONLINE mode only. There will be no option to pay fee
through any other mode.
c) Applications received without the prescribed fee shall not be considered and will be summarily
rejected. No representation against such rejection will be entertained.
7.2 Minorities shall include Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians (Parsis) subject
to revision/deletion/inclusion, if any, received till the closing date of ONLINE submission of
application for this CEN.
Candidates belonging to minority communities availing waiver of examination fee will be required to
furnish, at the time of document verification “Minority Community Declaration” affidavit (as per
Annexure-IV) on non-judicial stamp paper that they belong to any of the above minority
communities, failing which their candidature will be rejected.
7.3 Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates are those whose annual family income is less than

Rs. 50,000 and are eligible for concessional fee (as per para 7.0 above). For this, they should have
a) Valid Income Certificate on the date of application in the prescribed format (as per Annexure III A)
on the letter head of the Issuing Authority. The following authorities are authorized to issue income
certificate for the purpose of identifying economically backward classes:
(1) District magistrate or any other Revenue Officer up to the level of Tahsildar
(2) Sitting Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha for persons of their own Constituency
(3) Sitting Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha for persons of the district in which these MPs
normally reside.
(4) Union Minister for any persons from anywhere in the country.

All EBC candidates who seek concessional fee, should fill in the relevant details of valid EBC
certificate/BPL card/Izzat MST in the ONLINE application and the same must also be submitted in
original, at the time of DV, failing which their candidature will be rejected.
NOTE: EBC and EWS are distinct categories, and EBC should not be confused with OBC. EBC
candidates should be aware that they are entitled only for fee concession and not to job reservation.
7.4 REFUND OF EXAMINATION FEE (for those attending CBT):
i. In case of online payment (Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking and UPI), the candidates should confirm if
they wish to receive the refundable portion of examination fee (Rs. 400/- or Rs. 250/- as applicable) on
attending the first stage CBT in the account from which they have made payment or alternatively provide
the beneficiary account in which they wish to receive the refund viz. Beneficiary Name, Account Number,
Name of Bank and its IFSC Code. The refundable portion of examination fee shall be refunded duly
deducting bank charges as applicable.
ii. The responsibility for furnishing correct bank account details lies on the candidates and RRB
shall not entertain any correspondence from candidates on this ground.
iii. There will be no refund of examination fee for erroneous, incomplete or rejected applications.

8.0 VERTICAL RESERVATION


8.1 This CEN provides for Vertical Reservation for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other
Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), wherever
applicable and admissible, and as communicated by the Indenting Railways/Production Units under
extant rules, as mentioned in the Vacancy Table.
NOTE: EBC & EWS are different categories. EBC candidates are not entitled to any job reservation.

8.2 All candidates, irrespective of community may be considered against UR vacancies, subject to
fulfillment of parameters for UR candidates. However, against the vacancies earmarked for specific
communities (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS), only candidates belonging to that community will be
considered.
8.3 For availing reservation, SC, ST, OBC-NCL & EWS candidates should furnish the necessary certificates
(in original) during DV. The certificates should be issued by competent authorities as per the formats
given at Annexure-I (for SC & ST candidates), Annexure-II (for OBC-NCL candidates) and Annexure-III
(for EWS candidates).
Candidates are advised to ensure that they belong to the community/ category indicated in
their application form and must substantiate this claim by providing a valid certificate from the
competent authority during document verification. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of
their candidature. Additionally, candidates are cautioned that fraudulent claims regarding
SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwBD/ExSM status or improper availing of benefits will lead to disqualification
and debarment from the examinations/recruitments conducted by the RRBs/RRCs.
8.4 The caste certificate for OBC-NCL candidates should specifically mention that “This is also to certify
that he/she does NOT belong to the persons/sections (Creamy Layer) mentioned in Column 3 of the
Schedule to the Government of India, Department of Personnel & Training OM No.
36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 08/09/93 and modified vide GOI DOPT OM No. 36033/1/2013-
Estt.(Res.) dated 13/09/2017*’ (*further revision if any, received till the closing date of submission of
online applications against this CEN).
8.5 A candidate seeking appointment on the basis of reservation to OBCs must ensure that he possesses
the caste/ community certificate and does not fall in creamy layer on the closing date for submission
of online application. During DV, such candidates should produce their original OBC-NCL certificate
(in prescribed format) valid as on the closing date for submission of online application, AND also a
self-declaration (in format given at Annexure II A) stating that they “do not belong to creamy layer”.
Or else, their claim for reservation (as OBC-NCL) will not be accepted and instead, they may be
treated only as UR candidates subject to fulfilment of all eligibility conditions.
8.6 IMPORTANT: Community/category/EWS status as on the closing date of submission of online
applications against this CEN, shall only be considered for reservation and related benefits as per
eligibility. Any change in this status thereafter, shall not be entertained.
8.7 EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Reservation
Candidates who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL and whose
family gross annual income is below 8 Lakh (Rupees eight lakh) are to be identified as EWS for
benefit of reservation for EWS. The income shall also include income from all sources i.e. salary,
agriculture, business, profession etc. for the financial year prior to the year of application. For this
CEN No.08/2024 the financial year will be 2023-24 as the closing date of application is 22.02.2025.
Also, candidates whose family owns or possesses any of the following assets shall be excluded from
being identified as EWS, irrespective of family income:
i. 5 acres of agricultural land and above;
ii. Residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. and above;
iii. Residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities;
iv. Residential plot of 200 sq. yards and above in areas other than the notified municipalities.
The property held by a “Family” in different locations or different places/cities would be clubbed
while applying the land or property holding test to determine EWS status.
The term “Family” for this purpose will include the person who seeks benefit of reservation, his/her
parents, siblings below the age of 18 years, his/her spouse and children below the age of 18 years.

The benefit of reservation under EWS can be availed upon production of an Income and Asset
Certificate issued by a Competent Authority. The Income and Asset Certificate issued by any one of
the following authorities in the prescribed format as given in Annexure III shall only be accepted as
candidate’s claim as belonging to EWS:
a) District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Collector/Deputy Commissioner/Additional
Deputy Commissioner/1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Taluka
Magistrate/Executive Magistrate/Extra Assistant Commissioner
b) Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/Presidency Magistrate
c) Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar and
d) Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides.
The candidates applying against the vacancies reserved for EWS must produce valid Income and
Asset Certificate issued by competent authority as per Annexure-III on the date of Document
Verification. In case of noncompliance to these stipulations, their claim for reserved status under
EWS will not be entertained and the candidature / application of such candidates, if fulfilling all the
eligibility conditions for General (UR) category, will be considered under General (UR) vacancies only.
8.8 Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS who fulfill required minimum educational / Technical
qualification can also apply against UR vacancies. They will however, have to compete as UR
candidates. No age relaxation will be allowed to such SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates applying/being
considered against UR vacancies. However, candidates have to indicate their actual community in the
application.
8.9 In the light of Hon’ble Supreme Court Judgement in Civil Appeal no. 18802 of 2017 between Dr. Bhim
Rao Ambedkar Vichar Manch, Bihar, Patna and the State of Bihar & Others., Judgement dated:
15.07.2024, candidate who have communities certificate of ST/SC issued prior to the Hon’ble
Supreme court judgement and also (A) Originally belong to PAN/SAWASI/PANR/TANTI-TANTWA
(तांती-तंतवा) caste originally and (B) Belong to Bihar state or migrated Bihar state only should upload
details of latest caste certificate which has been issued on or after 01.12.2024 duly modifying/ adding
their community & caste. Their community & caste/tribes will be considered for recruitment as per
their revised caste/ community. These candidates must mandatorily bring the new caste certificate
which is taken on or after 01.12.2024 at the time of document verification, otherwise his/her
candidature will be treated against Unreserved community.

9.0 HORIZONTAL RESERVATION:


9.1 This CEN provides for horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen (ExSM), Course Completed Act
Apprentices (CCAA) trained in Railway Establishments and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities
(PwBD) irrespective of their community.
9.2 Vacancies for ExSM, CCAA trained in Railway Establishments and PwBD wherever given in the
vacancy table are not separate but are included in the total number of vacancies.
9.3 Backlog PwBD vacancies from the past are not included in the regular community vacancies shown in
this CEN.
9.4 ExSM candidates may also apply against regular vacancies of any post(s) without separate earmarked
ExSM vacancies. Even for these posts, they are eligible for age relaxation and fee exemption as
applicable for ExSM.
9.5 PwBD candidates of a particular disability may also apply against regular vacancies of any post(s)
which are not having separate earmarked PwBD vacancies subject to condition that the post should
have been identified suitable for that disability. Even for these posts they are eligible for age
relaxation and fee exemption as applicable for PwBD.

9.6 If regular PwBD vacancies cannot be filled due to non-availability of suitable candidates under the
type of disability for which vacancy is reserved or for any other sufficient reason, these shall not be
filled and shall be carried forward as backlog vacancy to the next recruitment cycle.
Note: For the backlog PwBD vacancies if any, indicated in the CEN, if candidates of specified disability
for which vacancies reserved are not available, these can be filled by candidates of other disabilities
for which the post is suitable. In case of non-availability of any PwBD candidate of the disabilities for
which the post is identified as suitable, the vacancies will be filled by regular (those who are not
PwBD) candidates in order of merit.
9.7 CCAA candidates trained in Railway Establishments may also apply against vacancies of any post(s)
without separate earmarked CCAA vacancies. Even for these posts, they are eligible for age
relaxation.

10.0 EX-SERVICEMEN
10.1 The term Ex-Servicemen means a person who has served in any rank (whether as a Combatant or
non-Combatant) in the regular Army, Navy or Air Force of the Indian Union but does not include a
person who has served in the Defense Security Corps., the General Reserve Engineering Force, the
Lok Sahayak Sena and the Para Military Forces
and
a. Who either has been retired or relieved or discharged from such service whether at his own
request or being relieved by the employer after earning his or her pension; (or)
b. Who has been relieved from such service on medical grounds attributable to military service
or circumstances beyond his control and awarded medical or other disability pension; (or)
c. Who has been released from such service as a result of reduction in establishment; (or)
d. Who has been released from such service after completing the specific period of engagement,
otherwise than on his own request, or by way of dismissal, or discharge on account of
misconduct or inefficiency and has been given a gratuity; and includes personnel of the
Territorial Army, namely, pension holders for continuous embodied service or broken spells of
qualifying service;(or)
e. Personnel of Army Postal Service who are part of Regular Army and retired from the Army
Postal Service without reversion to their parent service with pension, or are released from the
Army Postal Service on medical grounds attributable to or aggravated by military service or
circumstances beyond their control and awarded medical or other disability pension; (or)
f. Personnel who were on deputation in Army Postal Service for more than six months prior to
14th April 1987; (or)
g. Gallantry award winners of the Armed forces including personnel of Territorial Army; or
h. Ex-recruits boarded out or relieved on medical ground and granted medical disability pension
w.e.f. 01.02.2006.
10.2 Persons serving in the Armed Forces of the Union, who on retirement from service would come
under the category of Ex-Servicemen are eligible to apply for re-employment one year before the
completion of the specific terms of engagement and avail themselves of all concessions available to
Ex- Servicemen but such persons shall not be permitted to leave the uniform until they complete the
specific terms of engagement in the Armed Forces of the Union.

Accordingly, such serving Defence personnel expected to be released within one year (i.e. on or
before 22.02.2026) (from the Armed Forces), of the closing date of submission of online applications
against the CEN can also apply, both for vacancies earmarked for Ex-servicemen and for posts not
reserved for them. However, they should possess the prescribed educational qualifications as on the
closing date of registration of online applications for this CEN i.e. 22.02.2025.
 When selection process takes more than one year, from the last date of receiving of online
applications, the candidate will not be declared ineligible under [Link] category only on the
ground that he has got himself released from Armed Forces after one year from the last date
of receiving of application “i.e. he/she may be considered till the date of Document
Verification for which he/she is shortlisted”.
 Since the appointment of such a candidate is subject to the submission of documentary
evidence that he/she has been duly released/discharged from the Armed Forces and qualified
as an [Link] in terms of the rules/notifications ibid, such a candidate shall be required to
submit a certificate and an undertaking in the formats enclosed, as Annexure VI and Annexure
VII respectively during document verification.
10.3 Ex-Servicemen candidates who have already secured civil employment under Central Government in
Group C & D (including PSUs, autonomous bodies/statutory bodies, nationalized banks etc.) after
availing of the benefits given to Ex-Servicemen will be permitted only the benefit of age relaxation as
prescribed for Ex-Servicemen for securing another employment in a higher grade or cadre in Group
C/erstwhile Group D under Central Government. Such candidates will not be considered against the
vacancies reserved for Ex-Servicemen in the Central Government jobs.
10.4 If an Ex-Serviceman applies for various vacancies before joining any civil employment, he/she can
avail the benefit of reservation as Ex-Servicemen for any subsequent employment, subject to the
condition that an Ex-Serviceman as soon as he/she joins any civil employment, should give self-
declaration/undertaking to the concerned employer about the date wise details of application for
various vacancies, including this CEN, for which he/she had applied for, before joining the initial civil
employment. The acknowledged copy of this declaration along with no objection certificate (NOC)
from the civil employer should be produced during document verification failing which they will not
get benefit of reservation for Ex-Servicemen. Further, this benefit would be available only in respect
of vacancies which are filled on direct recruitment and wherever reservation is applicable to the Ex-
Servicemen.
10.5 The Medical standard of Ex-Serviceman will be according to para 534 of Indian Railway Medical
Manual (IRMM) Volume I, which may be accessed at [Link].

11.0 PERSONS WITH BENCHMARK DISABILITIES (PwBD)


11.1 The suitability or otherwise of a post for PwBD has been indicated against each post, under the column
“Suitability for Persons with Benchmark Disability” with details of sub disability in Post Parameters
Table (Annexure-A).
Benchmark Disabilities: As per The Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016 (effective
from 19thApril, 2017), the Benchmark Disabilities are as under: -
(a) Blindness and Low Vision (VI);
(b) Deaf and hard of hearing (HI);
(c) Locomotor Disability (LD) including Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims
and Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal Deformity (SD) and Spinal Injury (SI) without any associated
neurological/ limb dysfunction;

(e) Multiple Disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness in the
posts identified for each disabilities (MD).
NOTE: Candidates may please refer to the GOI website [Link] and check the
relevant portions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 for further details.
Definition of Specified Disabilities as provided in the Schedule of RPwD Act, 2016 is as mentioned
below:
11.2 Definition of Specified Disabilities:
1. Physical disability:-
A) Locomotor Disability (a person’s inability to execute distinctive activities associated with
movement of self and objects resulting from affliction of musculoskeletal or nervous system or both),
including—
(a) “Leprosy Cured person” means a person who has been cured of leprosy but is suffering from—
(i) Loss of sensation in hands or feet as well as loss of sensation and paresis in the eye and eye-lid but
with no manifest deformity;
(ii) Manifest deformity and paresis but having sufficient mobility in their hands and feet to enable
them to engage in normal economic activity;
(iii) Extreme physical deformity as well as advanced age which prevents him/her from undertaking
any gainful occupation, and the expression “leprosy cured” shall construed accordingly;
(b) “Cerebral Palsy” means a Group of non-progressive neurological conditions affecting body
movements and muscle coordination, caused by damage to one or more specific areas of the brain,
usually occurring before, during or shortly after birth;
(c) “Dwarfism” means a medical or genetic condition resulting in an adult height of 4 feet 10 inches
(147 centimeters) or less;
(d) “Muscular Dystrophy” means a group of hereditary genetic muscle disease that weakens the
muscles that move the human body and persons with multiple dystrophy have incorrect and missing
information in their genes, which prevents them from making the proteins they need for healthy
muscles. It is characterized by progressive skeletal muscle weakness, defects in muscle proteins, and
the death of muscle cells and tissue;
(e) “Acid Attack Victims” means a person disfigured due to violent assaults by throwing of acid or
similar corrosive substance.
(f) Spinal Deformity (SD) and Spinal Injury (SI) without any associated neurological/limb dysfunction.
Persons with SD/SI without neurological/limb dysfunction are suitable for all the sub category of
disability under Locomotor Disability.
Persons with SD/SI with associated limb dysfunction shall be covered under the respective sub
category of Locomotor Disability i.e. OA. OL, BA, BL, OAL, BLOA, BLA, as the case may be.
B) Visual impairment—
(a) “Blindness” means a condition where a person has any of the following conditions, after best
correction—
(i) Total absence of sight; or

(ii) Visual acuity less than 3/60 or less than 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible
correction; or
(iii) Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of less than 10 degree.
(b) “Low-Vision” means a condition where a person has any of the following conditions, namely:—
(i) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/18 or less than 20/60 up to 3/60 or up to 10/200 (Snellen) in the
better eye with best possible corrections; or
(ii) Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of less than 40 degree up to 10 degree.
C) Hearing impairment—
(a) “Deaf’ means persons having 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears;
(b) “Hard of Hearing” means person having 60 DB to 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both
ears
D) “Speech and Language Disability” means a permanent disability arising out of conditions such as
laryngectomy or aphasia affecting one or more components of speech and language due to organic
or neurological causes.
2. Intellectual Disability, a condition characterized by significant limitation both in intellectual
functioning (reasoning, learning, problem solving) and in adaptive behaviour which covers a range of
every day, social and practical skills, including—
(a) “Specific Learning Disabilities” means a heterogeneous group of conditions wherein there is a
deficit in processing language, spoken or written, that may manifest itself as a difficulty to
comprehend, speak, read, write, spell, or to do mathematical calculations and includes such
conditions as perceptual disabilities, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculiadyspraxia and developmental
aphasia;
(b) “Autism Spectrum Disorder” means a neuro-developmental condition typically appearing
in the first three years of life that significantly affects a person’s ability to communicate, understand
relationships and relate to others, and is frequently associated with unusual or stereotypical rituals or
behaviours.
3. Mental behaviour— “Mental Illness” means a substantial disorder of thinking, mood,
perception, orientation or memory that grossly impairs judgment, behaviour, capacity to recognize
reality or ability to meet the ordinary demands of life, but does not include retardation which is a
condition of arrested or incomplete development of mind of a person, specially characterized by sub
normality of intelligence.
4. Disability caused due to—
(a) chronic neurological conditions, such as—
(i) “Multiple Sclerosis” means an inflammatory, nervous system disease in which the myelin sheaths
around the axons of nerve cells of the brain and spinal cord are damaged, leading to demyelination
and affecting the ability of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to communicate with each other;
(ii) “Parkinson’s disease” means a progressive disease of the nervous system marked by tremor,
muscular rigidity, and slow, imprecise movement, chiefly affecting middle-aged and elderly people
associated with degeneration of the basal ganglia of the brain and a deficiency of the
neurotransmitter dopamine.
(b) Blood disorder—

(i) “Haemophilia” means an inheritable disease, usually affecting only male but transmitted by
women to their male children, characterized by loss or impairment of the normal clotting ability of
blood so that a minor wound may result in fatal bleeding;
(ii) “Thalassemia” means a group of inherited disorders characterized by reduced or absent amounts
of hemoglobin.
(iii) “Sickle Cell Disease” means a hemolytic disorder characterized by chronic anemia, painful events,
and various complications due to associated tissue and organ damage; “hemolytic” refers to the
destruction of the cell membrane of red blood cells resulting in the release of hemoglobin.
5. Multiple Disabilities (more than one of the above specified disabilities) including deaf, blindness
which means a condition in which a person may have combination of hearing and visual impairments
causing severe communication, developmental, and educational problems. Under the Multiple
Disability (MD) category, only candidates with a combination of individual disabilities that are
independently eligible for the post are eligible.
6. Any other category as may be notified by the Central Government.
11.3 Degree of Benchmark Disability for Reservation and Competent Authority for Issue of Disability
Certificate: Only such persons would be eligible for relaxation in conditions/reservation in posts who
suffer from not less than 40 percent of relevant benchmark disability. Those Persons with Benchmark
Disabilities (PwBD) who have availed the relaxation and/or reservation and shortlisted for Document
Verification have to submit Certificate of Disability issued by the Competent Authority as per the
form V, VI and VII of rule 18(1) of the Gazette Notification (Extraordinary) dated 14 March 2024 of
the Right of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017 under chapter 7 of Rights of Persons with
Disabilities Rules, 2017 dated 15.06.2017. Refer Annexure V(A), Annexure V(B) and Annexure V(C) for
the revised formats. The existing certificates of disability issued under the Persons with Disabilities
Act 1995 (since repealed) shall continue to be valid for the period specified therein.
11.4 Assistance of Scribe:
11.4.1 In case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of Blindness, Locomotor
Disability (Both Arm affected – BA) and Cerebral Palsy, the facility of scribe shall be given, if so
desired by the person. The candidate can avail the assistance of scribe after submission of letter of
undertaking as per Annexure-V(D) at the examination centre.
11.4.2 In case of other category of persons with benchmark disabilities, the provision of scribe can be
allowed on production of a certificate to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitation
to write and scribe is essential to write examination on his behalf, from the Chief Medical Officer/Civil
Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care institution. The candidate can avail
the assistance of scribe after producing the certificate as per Annexure-V(G) and submission of letter
of undertaking as per Annexure-V(D) at the examination centre. The PwBD persons having less than
40% disability (covered under the definition of Section 2(s) of the RPwD Act, 2016 but not covered
under the definition of Section 2(r) of the said Act) and having difficulty in writing can also avail the
assistance of scribe for writing answers on their behalf after producing the certificate as per
Annexure-V(E) and submission of letter of undertaking as per Annexure-V(F) at the examination
centre. For engaging the scribe, candidates will have to indicate the same while filling ONLINE
application form. Engagement of scribe will be subject to the following conditions:
(a) PwBD Candidates will have to arrange for the scribe on their own. The qualification of scribe
chosen by the candidate should be one step below the qualification of the candidate taking
examination.

(b) The scribe so arranged should not himself/herself be the candidate for the notification for which
the candidate is appearing. Also same scribe should not be engaged for more than one candidate.
The scribe and the candidate shall give a declaration to this effect. Any violation, if detected at any
stage will render both candidate and scribe disqualified.
(c) Candidates opting for scribe will have to provide additional details for scribes during submission of
ONLINE application form as per Annexure-V(D), so that RRBs can issue e-Call Letter for scribe and the
same shall be signed by both candidate and scribe. Scribe should produce original and valid ID proof
at CBT Center and bring passport size photograph.
(d) Separate e-Call Letter will be issued to scribes accompanying the candidates.
(e) The candidate shall be responsible for any misconduct on the part of the scribe brought by
him/her during the examination.
(f) Candidates availing the assistance of a scribe shall be eligible for compensatory time of not less
than 20 minutes for every hour of examination.
(g) Candidates who suffer from not less than 40 percent of relevant benchmark disability and wish to
avail services of scribe but are unable to furnish the details of scribe at the time of ONLINE
application, may avail the services of scribe by filling up necessary details in Format given at
Annexure-V(D) and producing Certificate as per Annexure-V(G), if applicable, at the CBT center duly
complying the conditions stipulated for scribe. The change of scribe may also be allowed in
emergency duly recording reasons and filling the relevant details including pasting of photograph of
the new scribe as per Annexure-V(D).
(h) Conditions regarding engagement of scribe shall be subject to various provisions/orders of the
competent authority, as amended from time to time.
11.5 All one-eyed candidates and candidates whose visual degree of disability is less than 40% shall not be
considered as Visually Impaired persons and the provision for engaging scribe shall not be applicable
to them.
11.6 In case a candidate with less than 40% disability is having difficulty in writing wants to avail the facility
of scribe, he/she will be allowed to avail facility of scribe if he/she is able to produce certificate as per
Annexure-V(E) along with self-declaration as per Annexure-V(F). The qualification of scribe chosen by
the candidate should be one step below the qualification of the candidate taking examination.
11.7 Selected PwBD candidates will be subjected to medical examination by Railway Medical Authorities at
the time of DV and only those conforming to the medical standards as laid down in the Indian Railway
Medical Manual and other extant provisions, as the case may be, will be eligible for appointment.
11.8 When vacancies are reserved for PwBDs and full panel for PwBDs cannot be made with the minimum
qualifying percentage marks of each category, viz., UR, EWS, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, a relaxation of up to 2
marks in the minimum qualifying marks prescribed for the community will be allowed.
Special Note for all Candidates seeking reservation/relaxation benefits:
All the candidates seeking reservation/relaxation benefits available for SC/ST/OBC-
NCL/EWS/PwBD/ExSM must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation/relaxation as per
eligibility prescribed in the Rules/CEN. They should be in possession of all the requisite certificates in
the prescribed format in support of their claim as stipulated in the Rules/CEN.

12.0 RAILWAY ACT APPRENTICES


12.1 The vacancies to be filled from among the Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAAs) trained in
Railway Establishments and possessing National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by National
Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) is separately indicated in the vacancy table. This will be in the
nature of horizontal reservation as in the case of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs) and
Ex-Servicemen. However, unlike in the case of PwBDs, there will be no carry forward of the unfilled
vacancies, to be filled by this mechanism. In case of shortfall, the vacant slots shall be filled from
others in the combined merit list.
12.2 Closing date of online application i.e. 22.02.2025 of this CEN shall be the cutoff date for completion
of Apprenticeship. A candidate shall be considered to have completed the Act Apprenticeship
training, only if he has already appeared in the NCVT examination before the last date of online
application i.e. 22.02.2025, the result for which might not have been declared. However, the
candidate should submit the NAC certificate issued by NCVT during document verification failing
which he/she shall not be eligible for reservation as CCAA (trained in Railway Establishment) under
this provision.
12.3 The course completed Act Apprentices will be eligible to apply for any RRB/RRC irrespective of the
Railway establishment in which they have been trained subject to fulfilling other eligibility
conditions.
12.4 The Course Completed Act Apprentices will be given due weightage for the marks obtained in
National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) examination such that one third of the marks in
preparation of the final merit list after conduct of CBT shall be based on the marks obtained in
National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) examination.
12.5 In situations where the marks obtained after adding the NCVT score is less than that of the marks
obtained originally in CBT, then the higher/best of the two marks obtained by the candidate will be
awarded for preparation of the final merit list.
12.6 The Course Completed Act Apprentices will be exempted from Physical Efficiency Test.
12.7 Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAAs) trained in Railways should upload their details of marks
pertaining to NCVT examination during online application.
12.8 If a candidate fails to feed his/her NCVT marks, weightage of marks shall not be given.
Special Note for all Candidates seeking reservation/relaxation benefits:
All the candidates seeking reservation/relaxation benefits available for SC/ST/OBC-
NCL/EWS/PwBD/ExSM/CCAA (trained in Railway Establishment) must ensure that they are entitled
to such reservation/relaxation as per eligibility prescribed in the Rules/CEN. They should be in
possession of all the requisite certificates in the prescribed format in support of their claim as
stipulated in the Rules/CEN.

13.0 NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC) FOR SERVING EMPLOYEES:


13.1 Candidates serving (including those undergoing induction training/probation) in any Central/State
Government Department including Railways or Public Sector Undertakings may apply directly to the
RRBs/RRCs duly informing their Employer. Shortlisted candidates should produce NOC from the
employer during document verification, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
13.2 Candidates should note that in case a communication is received from their employer by the
RRB/RRC concerned withholding permission to the candidates applying for/appearing at the
examination, their application/candidature will be liable to be rejected/cancelled.

14.0 RECRUITMENT PROCESS


(a) Candidates should apply only through ONLINE mode through any of the official websites of the
RRBs. Multiple applications by a candidate will lead to rejection of all the applications and
debarment.
(b) The recruitment process shall comprise of the following stages:
(i) Computer Based Tests (CBT)
(ii) Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
(iii) Document Verification (DV) and
(iv) Medical Examination (ME)
(c) Information of date of CBT, PET, DV, ME or any other additional activities will be given to eligible
candidates in due course through RRB/ RRC websites, SMS and email.
(d) Request for postponement of any of the stages or for change of venue, date and shift will not be
entertained under any circumstance.
14.1 Computer Based Test (CBT)
All the eligible candidates have to undergo a Computer Based Test(s) on the specified date(s), time
and venue(s) as per the e-call letter to be downloaded by the candidates from the websites of
RRBs/RRCs. The information about the e-call letter download shall be communicated through the
websites as well as registered email ID of the candidates.

The section wise distribution given in the above table is only indicative and there may be some
variation in the actual question paper. There will be negative marking and 1/3 marks shall be
deducted for each wrong answer.
Minimum percentage of marks for shortlisting in various communities: UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC (Non
creamy layer)-30%, SC-30%, ST-30%. These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2
marks for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for
them.
Where a second stage CBT is deemed necessary and held, the Railway Administration reserves the
right to treat the first stage CBT as a qualifying test for the purpose of short listing of reasonable
number of candidates for the second stage.
Question Type and Syllabus:
The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions
pertaining to:
a. Mathematics Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion,
Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest,
Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age
Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
b. General Intelligence and reasoning
Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations,
Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency,
Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning,
Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

c. General Science
The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level
(CBSE).
d. General Awareness on current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities,
Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance.
It may be noted that the topics listed above are illustrative and not necessarily exhaustive.
14.2 PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TESTS (PET)
Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates shall be called for PET three times the
community wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs/RRCs. However, Railways reserve
the right to increase/decrease this ratio as required to ensure availability of adequate/reasonable
number of candidates for all the notified posts. Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory
and the same will be qualifying in nature. The criteria for PET are as under:

Note:
1) The Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) as specified in Para 11.0 are exempted from
appearing for PET. However, after qualifying in the CBT, such candidates will have to pass the
medical examination prescribed for PwBD.
2) It is the candidates’ responsibility to ensure that they are medically fit enough to attempt the PET.
Railways will not be responsible for any injury/harm suffered by candidates as a result of
participating in the PET.
3) The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) consists of two stages. To ensure uniformity, candidates will be
tested for Carrying of Weight to specified distance in specified time first and if successful in this test,
for the Running Test after a recovery gap. Failing in the first Test, i.e. Weight carrying will mean
elimination at that stage itself. The Weight carrying test will involve lifting a sand bag (without any
handle) from a bench/platform at around waist height and carrying it in whichever manner
candidate wants to carry above the ground till the destination point without dropping the sandbag
on ground.
4) The Course Completed Act Apprentices will be exempted from Physical Efficiency Test.
5) Ex-Servicemen: Ex-Servicemen will be exempted from Physical Efficiency Test. However, all Ex-
Servicemen will be required to pass the written test, physical standards, if any and medical
standards of the post as prescribed for direct recruits.
6) Pregnant Female Candidates: On reporting of female candidates for PET (Physical Efficiency Test), a
self-declaration indicating about her pregnancy status shall be submitted by her. In case she
declares that she is not pregnant then she may be allowed to participate in the PET. In case of false
declaration, all the risk of undergoing PET will be of her own. If the female candidate declares before
PET that she is pregnant, then a confirmatory pregnancy test shall be done and in case she is found
to be pregnant, irrespective of duration of pregnancy, she shall be declared temporarily unfit and
her empanelment shall be held in abeyance until the confinement is over. The vacancy against which
the woman candidate was selected would be kept reserved for her. She would be re-examined for

PET six weeks after the date of confinement, subject to production of medical certificate of fitness
from a registered medical practitioner. If she is found fit in PET & Medical Examination, she may be
appointed to the post kept reserved for her and allowed the benefit of seniority in accordance with
the rules/instructions of the Railway Board as amended from time to time. In case a female
candidate after confirmatory pregnancy test is not found pregnant, she will be allowed to
participate in PET.
7) Transgender Candidates: Relaxed PET (Physical Efficiency Test) standards equivalent to the PET
standards for Female candidates will be applicable for Transgender candidates.
14.3 Document Verification and Empanelling of Candidates
Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PET, the number of
candidates to be called for Document Verification (DV) will be equal to the number of notified
vacancies (i.e. in the ratio of 1:1).
In case of shortfall in empanelment of candidates or other exigencies, RRB/RRC reserves the right to
utilize the candidates down the merit list if required, as per the merit and option of the candidates.
This however will not confer any vested right on such candidates to be considered for appointment.
In case of two or more candidates securing same normalized percentile score, their merit position
shall be determined by age criteria i.e. older person shall be placed at higher merit and in case age
being same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name shall be taken into account to break the tie.
Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be
conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates
and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates.
Candidates may please note that RRBs/RRCs only recommend names of the empaneled candidates
and appointment is offered ONLY by the respective Railway Administrations.
Additionally, candidates are cautioned that fraudulent claims regarding
SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwBD/ExSM status or improper availing of benefits will lead to disqualification
and debarment from the examinations/recruitments conducted by the RRBs/RRCs.

15.0 NORMALISATION OF MARKS:


Short listing of Candidates for various stages shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by
them whenever CBT is conducted in multiple sessions for the same syllabus.

16.0 HOW TO APPLY


(a) Candidates must read all the information and instructions carefully before filling the ONLINE
application to prevent mistakes. Candidates can apply for the notified posts of any one Railway only
as per their eligibility through ONLINE application mode by visiting the official website of RRBs as
listed at Para 21.0 (A).
(b) Candidates must first 'Create an account' for this CEN through the link given in the official RRB
websites at Para 21 (A). They must have an active personal mobile number and a valid email ID for
receiving OTPs for account creation. No change in details filled in 'Create an Account' form (including
mobile number and email ID) will be permitted later.
If a candidate has already created an Account for any CENs notified in 2024, he/she should use same
Account credentials to log in and apply for this CEN (i.e., CEN No. 08/2024) as well. However, the
already registered candidates must upload latest signature.

(c) ONLINE Mandatory Scanned Documents to be kept ready before filling the application:
(i) Recent, clear colour passport size photograph (against a plain white background) of the candidate
in JPEG image (size 50 to 100 KB) - without wearing dark glasses and/or cap. The specifications of
colour photograph must be as below:

a. It should be a Colour Passport Photograph with white/light colour background. The dress
should be non-white dress, preferably in dark colour. The colour photograph must not be older
than two months with respect to last date for submission of the online application.
b. It should be of size 35mmX45mm or 320 x 240 pixels.
c. It should be in JPEG format scanned with minimum 100 DPI resolution.
d. The size of the photograph should be between 50-100KB.
e. The colour photograph must have been taken (Latest Photograph) in a professional studio.
Photographs taken using mobile and self- composed portraits may result in rejection of
application.
f. The photo should have clear front view of the candidate without cap and/or Hat and sunglasses
and/or Dark glasses.
g. The face should occupy at least 50% of the area of the photograph with a full-face view looking
at the camera directly.
h. The main features of the face must not be covered by hair of the head any cloth or any
shadow.
i. Forehead, eyes, cheeks, nose, neck, chin and both shoulders should be clearly visible. Further,
the area of elbow/below elbow/ below chest portion should not be visible in the photo.
Expression of face should be natural (no grinning/ frowning /raised eye brows). Eyes should be
clearly open and looking straight to the front side. The main features of the face must not be
covered by hair of the head, any cloth, or any shadow. The photo should be clear with proper
resolution, brightness & sharpness and with continuous tone quality. The photo should be free
from signature/name/dates or any other marks.
j. In case the candidate wears glasses, then the photograph should not have any glare/reflections
on glasses and eyes should be clearly visible.
k. All the facial features of the applicant in photograph captured at the time of CBTs, Performance
Test/Teaching Skill Test, Translation Test (as applicable), Document Verification and Medical test
should match with the facial features in photograph submitted at the time of online application.
In case, it is found that there is a mismatch of facial features in these photographs of a candidate,
his/her candidature may be cancelled. Further, legal prosecution may be initiated and candidate
will be debarred for life time for Railway recruitments for RRB/RRCs. In addition to this, the facial
features in photo on the Photo ID produced during the CBTs, Performance Test/Teaching Skill
Test, Translation Test (as applicable), Document Verification and Medical test should be same as
facial features in photograph uploaded in the online application. To ensure this, candidates are
advised to get their photograph on photo ID updated with the recent photograph.
l. PwBD candidates should also upload passport photograph as per above specifications only and
not the full body photograph used in the disability certificate.
m. For the purpose of Document Verification and Medical test, the candidates are advised to
keep at least 12 copies of photograph which was uploaded by them in their online application.

(ii) Scanned JPEG image of candidate's signature in running handwriting (size 30 to 50 KB). The
specifications of candidate’s signature must be as below:

a. The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen only.
b. Signature must be in running letters and NOT IN BLOCK / CAPITAL LETTERS.
c. The image should be in JPEG format with minimum of 100 DPI resolution.
d. Dimensions of 50 mm x 20 mm or 140 x 60 pixels (preferred).
e. Size of file should be between 30 KB – 50 KB.
f. Signature image should have proper resolution and complete image of signature should be
visible in the centre of its box in the online application.

(iii) SC/ST Certificate (only for candidates requesting free pass for train travel) in pdf format (up to
500 KB).
(iv) PwBD candidates should also upload passport size photograph as per above specifications
only (and not the full body photograph used in the disability certificate).
(v) Scribe (Applicable to eligible PwBD candidates only): Provide details of Scribe duly uploading
his/her passport size photograph (against a plain white background) of the scribe in JPEG
image (size 40 to 70 KB) - without wearing dark glasses and/or cap. Furnishing of information
of Scribe is mandatory. Change of Scribe at the exam venue is generally not permitted.
However, under exceptional circumstances the change may be allowed duly recording
reasons and filling the relevant details including photograph of the Scribe.

(d) Candidates can avail the services of the Common Services Centre, Ministry of Electronics and
Information Technology, Government of India under the Digital India initiatives for submitting
ONLINE applications. The Common Services Centre (CSC) scheme is a part of the National
eGovernance Plan (NeGP) of the Government of India and is managed at each village panchayat
level by a Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE). There are more than 1.5 lakhs Common Services
Centers (CSC) across the country which will provide the desired support to candidates from urban
as well as rural areas in the submission of online Application Form and payment of fee through e-

(e) Candidates are required to go to the link provided for filling ONLINE application and fill up the
personal details/Bio-Data, fee paid etc, carefully. They are also required to exercise their option/
preference for Post(s) and Railway(s).
(f) The onus is on the candidates to prove with valid documents that all the information
submitted by them in the ONLINE application is true.
(g) IMPORTANT:
(i) All the communication regarding important selection process shall be advised through
the concerned RRB/RRC official websites Para 21 (A& B).
(ii) However, in addition to the above, candidates must keep their personal mobile number
and personal e-mail ID active throughout the recruitment process, so that communication
can be sent through SMS and/or email.
(iii) RRBs will not entertain any request for change of mobile number and e-mail address at any
stage.
(iv) Candidates are advised to carefully note and remember their Registration Number for
further stages of recruitment process and correspondence with RRBs/RRCs.
16.1 GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION:

(a) Candidates must fill the ONLINE application form with correct information and re-check before
submission.
(b) Applicant will not be able to make any correction in the ONLINE application after submission of the
online application.
(c) Medium of Examination: Questions for CBT will be available in English, Hindi and 13 regional Indian
languages (viz., Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia,
Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu). Accordingly, candidates must choose their medium of examination
from any one amongst those listed in the ONLINE application form. CBT questions will be displayed in
the language opted and in English. In case of any difference/ discrepancy/dispute in the Questions
between English and the opted language, the content of English version shall prevail.
(d) After submission of online application, candidate will be directed to opt for the mode of payment of
examination fee as explained in para 7.1 and complete the payment process.
IMPORTANT: Please be cautious about the genuineness of the mode of payment as well as the closing
date and time for submission of ONLINE applications against this CEN, while making payment. Avoid
unauthorized websites.
(e) Finally, acceptance of ONLINE application will happen only after receiving confirmation of fee
payment. The applicant will receive a confirmation on successful payment ONLINE through email &
SMS.
(f) Submitting RRB applications through the Aadhaar verification mode by the candidate will facilitate
smooth entry to examination centres and streamline the post-exam process for applicants.
(g) Candidate also has facility to provide consent to Digilocker, in order to receive e-call letter through
their Digilocker account.

16.2 MODIFICATION OF APPLICATION:


a. After the final submission of the ONLINE application, if a candidate wishes to further modify, change
or correct any detail except details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and
Email ID) and Chosen Railway, he/she may do so by paying a modification fee of Rs. 250/- (non-
refundable) for each occasion. Details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and
Email ID) and Chosen Railway cannot be changed.
b. The modification fee is to be paid by all candidates irrespective of community and category.
c. In the case of a candidate modifying his community from SC/ST to UR or OBC, he will have to pay the
difference in examination fee i.e. 250/- in addition to the modification fee. In case of failure to
do so, his modified application will not be accepted.
d. Similarly, if a candidate is switching from [Link]/PwBD to UR/OBC(NCL)/Non [Link]/Non PwBD etc.
and from Female/Transgender to Male he will have to pay the difference in examination fee i.e. Rs.
250 in addition to the modification fee. In case of failure to do so, his modified application will not
be accepted.
e. Modifications of ONLINE application will be allowed any number of times on payment of the
modification fee for each occasion.
f. ONLINE modifications to the ONLINE application, along with the payment of the modification fee,
will be permitted up to 10 (ten) days after the last date for application fee payment i.e.,
24.02.2025(23:59 hrs) for this CEN. The modification window will remain open from 25.02.2025 to
06.03.2025 (23:59 hours). After this period, RRBs shall not entertain any representation for
modification of the information furnished in the application.
16.3 INVALID APPLICATIONS / REJECTIONS:-
(a) Online applications will be liable for rejection on the following grounds amongst others:

(i) Multiple applications to different RRBs or same RRB for this CEN. In such case, all the applications will be
rejected summarily, and such candidates will be debarred from all future RRB and RRC exams.
(ii) Invalid photos (i.e. not as per prescribed Specifications) such as on account of Black and White photo,
photo older than 2 months, photo wearing cap/Goggles/Helmet/Hat/dark glasses, Photos which are
disfigured, small size photo w.r.t overall frame size, photos with Dark/distracting/ nonwhite background, full
body photo, photo showing only one side view of the face, unrecognizable photos, photostat copy of photo,
group photo, selfie photo, photo taken by mobile, morphed photo, distractive shadows on background/
behind head in photo, photo covering elbow and / or below elbow portion and /or photo below chest portion,
photos with head/shoulder tilted, photos with side/tilted view, photos with Head side
ward/upward/downward, distracting shadows on/across the face in photo, photos with eyes fully closed,
looking tilted towards downwards/sideways direction in photo, Hairs across eyes/face in photo, glare on eye
glass in photo, photos with poor resolution/brightness/sharpness/blurred/washed out colours, pixelated
photos, Un-natural skin tones in photo, photos with signature or name or date or any other marks or damage
(torn, creased, marked), inverted image in photo, blank image in photo etc. and online application without
photo among others.
(iii) Invalid signature (i.e., not as per prescribed specifications) such as use of block/capital letters instead of
running handwriting, poor resolution, incomplete image, incomplete signature, image other than signature, no
signature (blank) image etc.
(iv) Incomplete or incorrectly filled application.
(v) Not possessing the prescribed qualification for the post(s) as on the closing date for online submission of
applications i.e. as on 22.02.2025.
(vi) Over-aged or under-aged or Date of Birth wrongly filled.
(vii) Candidate's name figuring in the debarred list of any RRB/RRC.
(viii) Candidates who have been dismissed from service by the Government of India / State Government / PSU
/ any other Government Organizations.
(ix) Any other irregularities which are observed and considered as invalid by RRB.
(B) Rejected Applications: Details of rejected applications can be viewed on the online application
website by logging in, along with the reason(s) for rejection which will be final and binding and no
further correspondence shall be entertained on the subject. No refund of examination fee will be
made on account of rejection of applications. SMS and e-mail alerts shall also be sent to the
candidates on their registered mobile numbers and e-mail IDs. Candidates will not be intimated by
post.
17.0 Instructions Related to E-Call letter:
(a) Information and details regarding the CBT schedules and link for downloading the E-call
letters will be given on the websites of the RRBs as mentioned in Para 21(A). Eligible
candidates can download their E-call letter (and for scribe, where applicable) for the CBT from
the RRB websites as given at Para 21(A) about 4 (four) days before the date of CBT. However,
intimation about the city of examination shall be given about 10 (ten) days in advance.
(b) Information and details regarding PET and DV schedules along with link for downloading the
E-call letters will be given on the websites of the RRCs as given in Para 21(B). Eligible
candidates will also be informed via SMS and email.
(c) No call letter will be sent to candidates by post.
(d) Detailed information and instructions regarding the CBT/PET/DV will be given through the E-
call letter/websites of RRBs & concerned RRCs as mentioned in Para 21 (A & B). Candidates
should read and follow them scrupulously. Failure to comply with the instructions may lead to
their disqualification.

(e) Free Travel Facility: In case of SC & ST candidates who are eligible for free train travel, their
E-call letter itself will contain the free travel authority (sleeper class railway pass). Such SC &
ST candidates will be allowed to book train reservation by submitting a self-attested
photocopy of their E-call letter and SC/ST certificate at the ticket booking counter. During the
journey, SC & ST candidates should carry their original community certificate and an original
prescribed proof of identity for undertaking journey failing which they will be treated as
travelling without ticket and charged accordingly.
(f) During the examination, candidates must bring their E-call letters along with a valid ORIGINAL
Photo ID (viz., Voter ID-Card, Aadhaar card, printout of e- Aadhaar, driving license, PAN card,
passport, valid identity card issued by the employer in case the candidate is a govt. employee,
School / College / University photo ID card (if still studying) etc.) to the examination hall,
failing which the candidates shall NOT be allowed to appear in the examination.
(g) Candidates must also bring a copy of the SAME colour passport photograph which was
uploaded in their online application, during the CBT/DV/ME.
(h) Candidates should leave blank spaces provided in the downloaded e-Call letter for writing
self-declaration paragraph (as the paragraph will be displayed on the screen during CBT),
signature and Left Thumb Impression (LTI) unfilled while coming for the exam.
Warning: Candidates will have to write the paragraph of Self-Declaration, Sign and affix LTI
at the venue of the CBT (as applicable) in the presence of the invigilator at the Examination
Hall/Venue ONLY and hand over the same to the invigilator before the conclusion of the
examination. Candidates writing the self-declaration paragraph and/or Signing in
CAPITAL/ALL BLOCK/DISJOINTED letters will be rejected.
(i) RRBs/RRCs will not entertain any request for any change in examination center, date and
session allotted to candidate (s).

18.0 VERIFICATION OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS AND FORMAT OF CERTIFICATES:


(a) Candidates shortlisted for DV will have to produce all their original documents along with two sets
of self-attested photocopies at the time of DV.
(b) Further, these candidates are advised to upload the scanned copies (in true colour) of Photo &
Signature before their DV date through the portal - [Link]
(c) All certificates should be either in English or Hindi only. Where certificates are not in English/
Hindi, self-attested translated version (in Hindi / English) should be produced wherever/ whenever
required. Certificates produced during the DV should be strictly in the prescribed formats.
(d) No additional time will be given to the candidates not producing their original certificates on their
date of DV and the candidature of such candidates is liable to be forfeited.
(e) Candidature of candidates absent during the document verification will be forfeited.
NOTE
i. Candidates who wish to be considered against vacancies reserved/or seek age-relaxation must
submit the requisite/relevant certificate in original from the competent authority, in the
prescribed format at the time of Document verification. Otherwise, their claim for SC/ST/OBC-
NCL/EWS/ExSM/CCAA/PwBD status will not be entertained and their candidature/ applications
will be considered under UR category, if eligible. The certificates should be as per the formats
annexed. Certificates obtained in any other format will not be accepted.
ii. The Educational Qualification Certificates viz. Provisional or Regular should contain the date of
issue. In case date of issue of these certificates is after the closing date for online application,
then the consolidated mark sheet with date of declaration of the result of final qualifying exam
or individual mark sheets of all the semesters/years with date of declaration of result on each

should be submitted. In case of non-availability of passing date in any of these certificates, then
a certificate indicating date of declaration of result from the Institution/ Board/University to
this effect should be produced at the time of DV.

19.0 Use of unfair practices:


(a) Any candidate is found using unfair means of any kind in the examination such as forgery, cheating,
misconduct, use or attempt to use banned items, mis-representation or suppression of facts,
providing wrong information or submitting false documents etc., sending someone else in his/her
place to appear in the examination, attempt to impersonate will be debarred from appearing in all
the examinations of all the RRBs/RRCs for lifetime. He/she will also be debarred from getting any
appointment in the Railways and if already appointed, will be dismissed from service. Such
candidates are also liable for legal prosecution. [attention is drawn to Act “THE PUBLIC
EXAMINATIONS” (PREVENTION OF UNFAIR MEANS) BILL, 2024 effective from 21.06.2024, available
on [Link]> legislation> bills and Gazette of India also available on [Link]/whats-new]
(b) Furnishing of any false information to the RRB or deliberate suppression of any information at any
stage will render the candidate disqualified and debarred from appearing at any selection or
examination for appointment on the Railways or to any other Government service and if
appointed the service of such candidate is liable to be terminated.
(c) Candidates found submitting forged/fake certificates/documents of any kind for securing eligibility
and/or obtaining privileges, including free travel for appearing in the examination shall lead to
rejection of their candidature for the particular recruitment for which he/she has applied. Further,
he/she will also be debarred from all examinations conducted by all RRBs/RRCs all over the
country for a period of 2 years/for life as deemed fit and legal action will be initiated as per the
latest provisions under the law, if warranted.
(d) Candidate shall not bring in or attempt to bring in any political or other influence to further his/her
interest in respect of the recruitment. Candidature of such candidates is liable to be rejected.
(e) Any use of canvassing, unwanted or unfair influence to further undue interests in respect of
recruitment process by the candidate shall lead to disqualification and debarment of the
concerned candidates. Legal action will be initiated against such candidates as per the latest
provisions under the law, if warranted.

20.0 MISCELLANEOUS:-

20.1 Candidates are advised to check the official RRB/ RRC websites regularly for
Amendments/Corrigendum/Notices.
20.2 Biometric details of candidates will be recorded at every stage of the recruitment process. In case of
any mismatch, RRBs concerned shall reserve the right to disqualify a candidate and take appropriate
legal action on that basis.
20.3 RRBs also reserve the right to conduct additional authentication procedures to cross-verify the
identity and carry out background checks of any candidate.
20.4 RRBs/RRCs reserve the right to conduct additional CBT/ PET / DV (as required) at any stage.
RRBs/RRCs also reserve the right to cancel part or whole of any recruitment process at any stage for
any of the categories notified in this CEN without assigning any reason thereof.
20.5 The decision of RRBs/RRCs in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of ONLINE
applications, issue of free Rail Passes, penal action for false information, modification of vacancies,

mode of selection, conduct of CBT, allotment of examination centers, selection, allotment of posts to
selected candidates etc., will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or
correspondence will be entertained by the RRBs/RRCs in this regard.
20.6 RRBs/RRCs will not be responsible for any inadvertent errors and reserves the right to correct such
errors.
20.7 Any legal issues arising out of this CEN shall fall within the territorial jurisdiction of respective Central
Administrative Tribunals under which the RRB/RRC concerned is located.
20.8 In the event of any dispute about interpretation, the English version of the notification and
subsequent Amendments/Corrigendum /Notices as published in the RRB/RRC websites will be treated
as final.
