The Wise Man
Once upon a time, there was a wise man who always had to face people complaining about
the same problem everyday.
One day, he decided to tell them a joke and everyone laughed and began to forget their
problems.
A few minutes later, he repeated the same joke and only a few of them laughed, or even
smiled.
Finally, after he told the crowd the same joke for the third time, no one laughed at all.
It made the man smiled.
The wise man then said, “You can’t always laugh for the same joke. So why should you cry
over the same problem?”
3. The Princess and The Pea
A prince longed to get married.
There were many fine girls in the kingdom, but his mother, the queen, insisted that he wait
for a real princess.
One night, a princess came to the castle gate.
Her carriage had broken down, and she needed shelter for the night.
The prince fell in love with her, but his mother wanted proof that she was a real princess.
The queen slipped a single dried pea under a dozen mattresses on the bed.
Only a real princess would be tender enough to feel it.
The princess tossed and turned that night, and woke up quite black and blue from the pea.
Only then did the queen agree to her happy son’s marriage.
Rapunzel
Once upon a time, a girl named Rapunzel was known for her beautiful long blonde hair.
But no one ever see it because she was locked up in a tower by an evil witch.
The tower was so hight with no doors to escape, which made her felt lonely and miserable.
One day, a young prince come by the tower and used Rapunzel hair to climb in.
He then asked Rapunzel to run away together.
Somehow, the witch heard their plan and come in anger.
She cut down Rapunzel hair dan throw her into a lonely desert.
Meanwhile the prince was going blind because of the spell and left in the deserted forest.
After many years of wandering, the two lovers finally met and Rapunzel cry with a happy
tears.
The tears fell in the prince eyes and brought back his eyesight.
Finally, they both can lived happily ever after together.
The Thirsty Crow
There was a crow which was very thirsty.
He searched for water every where, then saw a water pot near a well.
Unfortunately, the water was very little and his beak can’t reach it.
The crow saw some stones nearby and thought of a plan.
He picked up some stones and put them one by one into the pot.
The water level began to raise, so he can reach it and drink up to ease his thirst.
After that, the crow flew away happily.
The Lion and The Mouse
A lion was once sleeping in the jungle when a mouse started running up and down his body
just for fun.
This disturbed the lion’s sleep, and he woke up quite angry.
He was about to eat the mouse when the mouse desperately requested the lion to set him
free.
“I promise you, I will be of great help to you someday if you save me,”.
The lion laughed at the mouse’s confidence and let him go.
One day, a few hunters came into the forest and took the lion with them.
They tied him up against a tree, it makes him struggling to get out and started to whimper.
Soon, the mouse walked past and noticed the lion in trouble.
Quickly, he ran and gnawed on the ropes to set the lion free.
Then, both of them sped off into the jungle.
The Boy Who Cried Wolf
There was once a shepherd boy who liked to play tricks.
One day, while he was watching over the herd, the boy decided to play a trick and cried,
“Wolf! Wolf!”.
The people who heard rushed over to help him.
But they were disappointed when they saw that there was no wolf and the boy was laughing
at them.
The next day, he did it again and people rushed to his aid only to be disappointed once
again.
On the third day, the boy saw a wolf devouring one of his sheep and cried for help.
But the people who heard him thought this is just another of the boy’s pranks so no one
came to help him.
That day, the boy lost some of his sheep to the wolf.
The Fox and the Grapes
On a very hot day in the summer, a fox was wandering along the road when he saw a vine
curled around a tree-trunk, and a big bunch of juicy grapes dangling from it. 'Well, well,' he
thought to himself, 'wouldn't those grapes be just the thing to quench my thirst on this hot
day?'
But the grapes were too high up for him to reach.
Even when he got up on his hind legs, he couldn't quite get them. So he decided to jump. He
jumped as high as he could, but he couldn't get near them. He took a run and jumped even
higher. Still no luck.
He jumped again and again, until he was so hot, he had to give up.
'Oh well,' he said as he walked away, 'I don't really care. They are probably sour anyway.
MORAL: When people cannot get what they want, they sometimes tell themselves that what
they want is no good anyway.
