Assignment Anova Stats

The document presents a statistical analysis using two-way ANOVA to determine the performance differences among students taught by different teachers and using different textbooks, concluding that there is a significant difference in performance based on the teacher used. Additionally, it analyzes the performance of students from private and public schools using two attitudinal scales, finding significant differences between the schools but no interaction effect. The analysis is conducted at a 0.05 level of significance, with detailed calculations and hypotheses outlined.

SOLVING BY THE STEPWISE METHOD:

I. PROBLEM:
1. Is there a significant difference in the performance of students under the
two different teachers.?
2. Is there a significant difference in the performance of the students between
the two different textbooks.?
3. Is there an interaction effect between teacher and the textbooks factor?
HYPOTHESIS:
1. H o : There is no significant difference in the in the performance of the
students under the two different teachers.
H 1 : There is significant difference in the in the performance of the
students under the two different teachers.
2. H o : There is no significant difference in the in the performance of the
students between the two different textbooks.
H 1 : There is significant difference in the in the performance of the
students between the two different textbooks.
3. H o : Interaction effect are not present.
H 1 : Interaction effects are present.

DECISION RULE:
If the computed F-value is greater than the tabulated F critical/tabular value,
disconfirm the H 0 .
CONCLUSION:
With the computed F-value (column) of 9.99 compared to the F-tabular value of
4.49 at 0.05 level of significance with 1 and 16 degrees of freedom, the null hypothesis
is disconfirmed in favor of the research hypothesis, which means that there is a
significant difference in the performance of the two groups of students under two
different teachers and textbooks. It implies that teacher B is better than teacher A.
With regard to the F-value (row) and F-value (interaction), both having a value of
0.0092, which is lesser than F-tabular value of 4.49 at 0.05 level of significance with 1
and 16 degrees of freedom, the null hypothesis of no significant difference in the
performance of the students under the two different teachers with two different
textbooks is confirmed.
2. The scores of two groups of students from the private and public schools were
take and two sets of attitudinal scales were administered. Perform the two-ways-
ANOVA at 0.5 level of significance to find out if there is significant difference
between the two groups of students coming from two different schools and two
groups of student given Set A and Set B on attitudinal scale?

If the computed F-value is greater than the tabulated F critical/tabular value,
disconfirm the H 0 .
CONCLUSION:
With the computed F-value (column) of 0.025 compared to the F-tabular
value of 4.35 at 0.05 level of significance with 1 and 20 degrees of freedom, the null
hypothesis is confirmed therefore there is no significant difference between the different
schools with two different attitudinal test.

With regard to the F-value (row) computed 13.23, which is greater than F-tabular
value of 4.35 at 0.05 level of significance with 1 and 20 degrees of freedom, , the null
hypothesis is disconfirmed in favor of the research hypothesis, which means that there
is a significant difference in the performance of the students between the different
schools with two different attitudinal test.
However, the F-value (interaction) of 1.057 is lesser than th F-tabular value of
4.35 at .05 level of significance with 1 and 20 degrees of freedom, the null hypothesis is
confirmed therefore theres no interaction present between the different schools.
