while preserving their relative sizes and positions. When objects are grouped, any editing
operations carried out on that group are applied to all members of the group. If you click
on one member of the group, the whole group is selected.
15. Cell referencing in which the cells are referred by their relative position in the worksheet
relative to a particular cell is called relative referencing.
16. In spreadsheets, Hyperlinks can be used in Cale to jump to a different location from
within a spreadsheet and can leads the other parts of the current file, to different files.
Hyperlinks can be absolute and relative.
An absolute URL. contains all the information necessary to locate a resource.
A relative URL locates a resource using an absolute URL as a starting point.
17.
i. Text data type: It allows to store text or a combination of text and numbers as
well as numbers that don’t require calculations such as phone number. This data
type allows maximum 255 characters to store. e.g. If Employee is a table and
Emp_No, Name and Description are fields, then name will be a Text field.
Because, Name is a character entry field.

a combination of data and the application needed to modify that data. You can thus
embed objects in or link them to documents created with a different application.
For example, An excel spreadsheet can be embedded within a Microsoft: Word document
using OLE.
6.
i. Scenarios: Scenarios are a tool to test "What-if" questions. Each scenario is
named and can be edited and formatted separately. It is essentially a saved set of
values for calculations. We can easily switch between these sets using the
Navigator or a Drop-down list which can be shown beside the changing cells.
ii. Goal Seek: It is used to calculate a result based upon existing values. Using Goal
Seek option under Tools menu, we can discover what values will produce the
result that we want.
iii. Solver: It is an elaborated form of Goal seek. The difference is that the solver
deals with equations with multiple unknown variables. It is specifically designed
to minimize or maximize the result according to a set of rules defined by us.
iv. Subtotal: lt is a function listed under the Mathematical category when we use the
Function Wizard (Insert > Function). Because of its utility, the function has a
graphical interface.
SUBTOTAL, gets the total/adds the data arranged in array-that is, a group of cells
with labels for columns and /or rows. For increasing the efficiency, we can choose
up to three groups of arrays to which the function can be applied.
7.
DDL DML
It stands for Data Definition Language It stands for Data Manipulation Language
Example: Create, Alter, Drop Example: Insert, Update, Delete
8. DDL (Data Definition Language) and DML (Data Manipulation Language) are two types
of SQL commands. DDL commands are used to create and define the structure of a
database, including creating tables and changing their characteristics. DML commands
are used to manage the data within the database, including adding, retrieving, and
updating data.
DDL commands affect the entire table of the database, while DML commands only affect
one or more rows.
Some examples of DDL commands include: ALTER, DROP.
Some examples of DML commands include: UPDATE, SELECT.
DDL commands affect the entire table of the database, while DML commands only affect
one or more rows.
9. The SELECT command is used to retrieve zero or more records from one or more tables
of a database or a different database. It is the most commonly used DML
command. Following optional clauses can be used with the select command:
o WHERE Specifies which rows are to be retrieved
o ORDER BY specifies the order in which the rows are to be retrieved
