Good evening ladies and gentlemen,

Let me begin by saying how truly special this moment


is. Today, we are not just here to attend an event—we
are here to witness something extraordinary, to share
in a unique experience, and to celebrate the culture of
India. This is more than just a program; it’s a testament
to the power of "unity, creativity, and vision"

Each of us represents a piece of the bigger picture, and


together, and I hope that we are creating something
unforgettable.

It is with immense pride and joy that I invite you to take


a journey with us—a journey into the heart of North
Karnataka, a land rich in heritage, vibrant traditions,
and timeless stories. Tonight, through the medium of
this skit, we will be celebrating the essence of this
culturally diverse and historically significant region.

So, without further ado, let us sit back and enjoy this
lively, heartfelt skit that brings to life the soul of North
Karnataka. Please join me in giving a big round of
applause to our performers as they take us on this
unforgettable cultural journey.

Skit play
Scene 1-
Narrator (off-stage): In a quiet village nestled in North
Karnataka, a group of foreign tourists arrive, curious to
learn about the rich culture of this land. They are
greeted by the village head and its people.
American tourist - Namaste we have come from long
distance nation. And we are here to roam arround India
and knows it's culture.
Village head boy- ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ, ಒಳ್ಳಗ್ ಬನ್ನಿ. ಸುಬ್ಬಣ್ಣ
ಇವರ್ನ ಅಧಿತಿ ಗೃಹಕೆ ಕರ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇವ್ರಿಗೆ
ಬೇಕಾಗೋ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಮಾಡಿ.

Subbanna- ಊಟ ತಯಾರಿದೆ ಬನ್ನಿ.

A T (1) - He is asking us to join for lunch. 10 ನಿಮಿಷ
ಬರುತ್ತೇವೆ.

V H B- ಬನ್ನಿ ಬನ್ನಿ ಕೂತ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಅಮ್ಮ ಚೈತ್ರ ಊಟ ಬಡ್ಸು.


A T - what is this. Why is so hard. How can u eat this

VHB - This is ಜೋಳದ್ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ. This is the famous cuisine


of North Karnataka. Dip it into ಎಣ್ಣಕೈ eat taste it.

A T(3) - oh this is so hard and spicy

VHG - True. ತೋಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳ್ಳ ಮತ್ತು ಹಲ್ಲು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಇದ್ರೆ


ಮಾತ್ರ ತಿಮ್ಮಕ್ಕ ಆಗದು
VHb - may be sir. How ruff and spicy may be the food
but the people of North Karnataka are very soft and
sweet. We eat this cuisine bcz it is rich is protein and
all necessary nuteriants.

VHG - ನಮ್ಕದೆ ಜ್ವಾಲಾಡ್ ರೂಟಿ, ಸೆಂಗ, ಎಣ್ಣಕ್ಕೆ, ಬಡ್ನೆಕೈ

ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕರ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಇವ್ರಿಗೆ ಊರ ನೋಡಂಗು ಆಗ್ತದ ಹಾಗೆ
ಸುಗ್ಗಿ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಗಮ್ಮತು ನೋಡ್ಬೋದು.

VHG - ಆಯ್ತು ಅನ್ನೈಯ. ಬನ್ನಿ ಹೋಗುಮ ಹೋಟಗೈಟಿ.


AT 2- where are we of to chairtra.
VHG - we are going to watch suggi. It's actually a
culture that we celebrate in North Karnataka. It actually
the same as festival. We offer thanks to God for
protecting our farm and crop. Before use the yeild we
offer the small portion of it God as a thanks giving. It's
just not only prayers and offering. We celebrate it joy
and pride. There's gonna be lot of dance song and
entertainment. Let me not tell u lots. If a few mins ull
be pleased with the suggi.

AT 1- No words to explain it was amazing

VHB - if u stay back for 2more days there is gonna be


ugadi during which u can see lot more of our culture.
Untill then u can just visit our place and see it's bueaty.

North Karnataka is a culturally and historically rich
region of the Indian state of Karnataka, characterized
by its unique traditions, cuisine, and architecture.
VHG 1-
North Karnataka comprises districts like Hubli-
Dharwad: Known as the twin cities, it is the largest
urban area in North Karnataka and an educational hub.
Belagavi: A culturally diverse city with a mix of
Kannada and Marathi influences.
Kalaburagi which we also call as Gulbargi : Famous for
its Islamic architecture, including the Gulbarga Fort and
Jama Masjid. And also Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Ballari,
Bidar, Koppal, Raichur.

VHG2-
ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿಯೋ ನದಿ ಬಾರಿ ನೀರಲ್ಲರಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣಪರಮತ್ಮ ಹೇಗೆ

ತನ್ನ ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥತೆ ಇಂದ ಉತ್ತಾರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ದ ಮಂದಿ ಗೆ
ನೀರ್ಣ ದಾರೆ ಏರ್ಡನ. Tungabhadra ತನ್ನ ಒಂದ್ ನದಿ ತನ್ನ
ಕೆಲಸ ಬಾರಿ ಧಃ ತೀರ್ಸದ್ ಅಲ್ಲದೇ ಊರ್ಗ electricity generate

Hampi: A UNESCO World Heritage Site with temples


and ruins from the Vijayanagara period.
Aihole and Pattadakal: Known as the "cradle of Indian
temple architecture."
Bijapur: Famous for the Gol Gumbaz, the second-
largest dome in the world.
Badami: Renowned for its ancient cave temples and
rock-cut architecture.
Bidar: Known for its Bahmani-era forts and Bidriware
which is a metal handicraft.
Chitradurga Fort: Known for its historical and
architectural significance.
Raichur Fort: A historical gem with roots in both Hindu
and Islamic dynasties.

VHG2-
ಅಷ್ಟೇ allari ನೆನ್ನೆ ನೋಡುದ್ವಲರಿ ಸುಗ್ಗಿ ಕುಣಿತ ಕೋಲಾಟ
ಮತ್ತೆ ಯುಗಾದಿ ಹಬ್ಬಾದಾಗ ಡೊಳ್ಳು ಕುಣಿತ, ವೀರಗಾಸೆ,
ಕಂಸಾಲೆ ಕುಣಿಟೀವ್ರಿ. ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಪೇಮಸ್ dance.

North Karnataka is home to reputed universities and
institutions such as:
KLE University in Belagavi.
Karnataka University in Dharwad.
Gulbarga University in Kalaburagi.

Vhg2 -
ಕೃಷಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಾದರೆ ಜೋಳ, ಹತ್ತಿ, ಕಬ್ಬು, ಮತ್ತು
ಕಡಲೆSemi-arid ವಾತಾವರಣದ ಕಾರಣವು ಸ್ಟೇಪಲ್ ಬೆಳೆಗಳಾಗಿವೆ.
ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ-ಧಾರವಾಡವು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ಮತ್ತು
ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಬಿದ್ರಿ ವಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇಲಕಲ್
ಸೀರೆಗಳು ಹಸ್ತಕಲೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ ರೈಲು ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಗಣಿಗಳು.

Vhg2 - Janapada Geethe are Kannada folk songs
reflecting the traditions, lifestyle, and emotions of rural
Karnataka. They are passed down orally, use simple
language, and cover themes like nature, love, heroism,
and spirituality. Often performed during festivals and
rituals, they are accompanied by traditional
instruments like dollu and maddale. These songs
preserve Karnataka's rich cultural heritage.

reason behind it.

Vgh1- ಯುಗಾದಿ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ ಶುರು ಆದುದನ್ನ ಸೂಚಿಸ್ತು, ಹೊಸ


ಶುಭಾರಂಭದ ಸಂಕೇತ ಅಂತೆ. ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಅಭ್ಯಂಗ ಹಚ್ಚ್ಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ನಾನ
ಮಾಡೋದು ದೇಹ ಹಗುರಗಾಗೋಕೆ, ಮನಸ್ಸು ಶುದ್ಧ ಆಗೋಕೆ ಸಹಾಯ
ಮಾಡ್ತಂತೆ. ಹೀಗಾದ್ಮೇಳ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಸ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನದ
ಜೊತೆ ಸುಖವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಮಾಡೊಕೆ ತಯಾರಾಗ್ಬೋದು.
Vgh2- if that is the belief
The scientific reason is The oil massage helps cool the
body, which is especially beneficial during the summer
season when Ugadi is celebrated. Massaging oil onto
the body stimulates blood circulation and rejuvenates
the skin, promoting a sense of relaxation. The oil
nourishes and hydrates the skin, countering dryness
and enhancing its health.
