Grade 8 orientation: Information sheet
Day 1:
-Council members are to report at 07:00 at the tuck for a breakdown of the day
Dress code:
Group leaders: Blue top
Group members: Red top
-Plastic bags will be used for the learners feet during the school tour
-School song and code of conduct will be sent
-Learners will begin to enter the hall at 07:30, orientation starts at 8
Group locations:
Group 1:Teen titans go – Quad under the roof
Group 2:Adventure time – Tennis courts
Group 3:Regular show – Behind the pavilion
Group 4:Amazing World of Gumball – Oval
Group 5:Ben 10 – Quad (near room 100)
Group 6:Pokémon – Tuck shop
Group 7:Barney – Parking area
Group 8:SpongeBob SquarePants – Hockey field
Group 9:Dragon Ball Super – Tree’s by the netball court
Group 10:Looney tunes – Outside reception
Group 11:Phineas and Ferb – Netabll courts
Group 12:Gravity Falls – The last tennis court
Group 13:Dora The Explorer – Tables by the field
Group 14:The Loud House – Outside bathrooms
Group 15:Paw Patrols – Soccer field
School tour:
First batch :
-Point A: Group 1-3 (Start in Mr Kriges passage and end in English passage)
-Point B: Group 4-7 (Start in Science passage and end in dance passage)
Second batch:
-Point A: Group 8-11 (Start in Mr Kriges passage and end in English passage)
-Point B: Group 12-15 (Start in the Science passage and end in the dance passage)
*IMPORTANT
-Council members will have to bring their own food (just in case)
-Remember water, a cap and sunscreen as it will be hot on those days

-Respect towards older teachers and learners (tell them that they should greet every teacher they see
and to make way when a matriculant is walking past)

-Their grade 8 school bags
*Note (We are trying to humble them but at the same time we want them to feel welcomed as a Parkie.
Do not discriminate or disrespect any of the learners. You are a mentor and a guide but not their friend.)

Essentials needed from council members:
-2 potatoes and a spoon
-Flour (preferably a 1kg bag)
-Eggs (preferably a 6 pack tray)
-Whistle for group leaders
-Bring along any waste for the pit
-While learners get their textbooks the other groups need to continue with ice breakers or games
-Designated duty spots will be given for the obstacle course (Others need to fall in and help where
necessary)
-Reflection time is to go over what we learnt or if additional time is needed
