ABOUT US Where Vision meets Action

The NSS Unit of COEP Technological University, established in 2006, is dedicated to


fostering social responsibility and awareness among the youth generation. The unit aims
to inspire volunteers to actively contribute to society, highlighting the importance of
service without discrimination. Volunteers are encouraged to take initiative in addressing
societal issues, ensuring that every individual in need receives support to improve their
standard of living. With a focus on promoting leadership skills, democratic values, and
community development, the NSS unit works tirelessly to solve real-life challenges.
Beyond traditional activities like cleanliness and plantation drives, the unit also
emphasizes the use of technical solutions to address pressing social issues. Through
initiatives such as educational camps, health awareness programs, road safety
campaigns, and tech-driven solutions for community development, the COEP TECH NSS
unit is committed to creating a lasting impact and building a sense of unity and
responsibility among the youth.

ABOUT KSHITIJ: Where Vision meets Action


KSHITIJ is more than just a socio-fest; it’s a movement to inspire and
empower the youth to lead with vision and act with purpose. Organized by
the COEP Tech NSS Unit, KSHITIJ provides a dynamic platform for young
minds to engage with innovative ideas, address societal challenges, and
transform aspirations into actions. With a focus on fostering leadership,
resilience, and creativity, the event aims to equip participants with the
tools and knowledge to drive meaningful change. At KSHITIJ, we believe in
uniting passion and potential to redefine horizons and build a brighter
future together.

[Link] Shelar is a senior BJP leader, lawyer, and cricket
administrator. He represents Bandra West in the Maharashtra
Assembly since 2014. He has served as Mumbai BJP president,
Minister for School Education, and currently holds the portfolio of
Mr. Ashish Shelar IT and Cultural Affairs. Shelar ji is also active in sports
Minister of Information administration, having led the Mumbai Cricket Association and the
Technology and Cultural
Affairs Mumbai District Football Association.

CHIEF GUEST
Dr. Meera Borwankar, an esteemed retired officer of the Indian Police Service
(IPS) from
the 1981 Maharashtra cadre, is widely recognized for her trailblazing
contributions to law enforcement in India. She holds the distinction of being the
first woman to serve as the Commissioner of Police, Pune, and has held several
key positions, including Chief of the Mumbai Crime Branch and Director
General of the Maharashtra Prisons Department.

IPS MEERA BORWANKAR Dr. Borwankar is celebrated for her exemplary leadership, unwavering integrity,
and significant efforts in combating organized crime and spearheading prison
reforms. A distinguished figure in public service, she continues to inspire as an
accomplished author, speaker, and advocate for women's empowerment and
administrative excellence.

OUR ACTIVITIES
तर्क नीती -Round Table Discussion

तर्क नीती provides a platform for participants to engage in meaningful group


discussions on contemporary societal issues. The focus is on brainstorming
innovative ideas and fostering constructive dialogue.
Guidelines:
- only ONE of the two participants will actively participate in the competition.
- The discussion topics will be generalized and relevant to current societal issues.
- Topics will be provided ON THE SPOT, ensuring a level playing field with no prior preparation
required.

OUR ACTIVITIES
“SEVA STORIES” -Elocution competition
The Elocution competition offers participants the opportunity to showcase their
public speaking skills while reflecting on the journey and impact of their NSS
(National Service Scheme) unit.
Guidelines:
-The speech must include:
*The journey of your NSS unit, highlighting key milestones and achievements.
*Exceptional activities conducted by your unit and the impact these have had
on society.
* Emphasize how the NSS unit's work has contributed to positive change and
social welfare.
Time Limit:
- The speech must be completed in 3 minutes.
- Ensure clarity, brevity, and a strong conclusion within the time frame.

*Environmental Sustainability:Solutions for climate change, waste management, and green initiatives.
*Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Social Change: Startups and ideas creating societal impact.
*Changemakers in Society: Recognizing and learning from influential social reformers.
*Social Problems: Tackling issues like poverty, unemployment, and gender disparity.
*Government Schemes:Awareness and impact of welfare programs and initiatives.
Mode of Competition:

NGO TALK
Jeevitnadi – Living River Foundation, established in 2014 in Pune and
registered as a Section 8 company in 2016, is dedicated to the revival
and conservation of urban rivers, particularly the Mula and Mutha
rivers. With the motto "My River, My Responsibility," the NGO
actively engages the community in river conservation through
initiatives such as River Walks, which raise awareness about river
ecosystems, and the "Adopt A Stretch" program, which empowers
communities to maintain specific river stretches. Jeevitnadi also
promotes sustainable living through Toxin-Free Lifestyle workshops.
The organization has successfully engaged over 30,000 individuals in
its conservation efforts and is recognized as one of Pune's leading
environmental NGOs.

Teams will present innovative ideas and solutions that address selected problem
statements, focusing on societal impact and practical implementation.
General Guidelines:
- Duration: Presentation to be completed within 10 minutes, followed by a Q&A
session.

*Solution Chart:A creatively designed chart reflecting the problem statement,
associated challenges, and effective solutions.
*3D/Working Model: A 3D model or Working model that showcases solutions to
the chosen problem statement.
