Tsepo:"I better come back to a cooked meal. Since

that's the only thing you know how to do"

He dropped the call. He's been gone for a whole

week,he didn't tell me where he was going and
that's what he tells me. Well what did I expect,I'm
used to it vele. The insults,the beatings. Well,the
list is endless.

It all started blissful. We were a couple in love. We

met when we were in Varsity. He was the best
thing that had ever happened to me,I knew exactly
that he would be my husband for life. When we
got married,I was 21 and he was 25.
We got married. The elders and friends said that
things changed after marriage,well in my marriage
things didn't change after marriage moreover
things changed when the issue of child birth came

numerous clinics and hospitals,for check ups and

He clicked his tongue then went to the lounge.

#Chapter1

I woke up only to find out that I was already late

for work. I quickly picked out something to wear
and took a quick bath. I had to sit in front of the
mirror to cover up the blue eye he gave me last
night,just because I coughed. Can you imagine?

My door burst open and the traitor walked in with

some clothes in her hands.

Mandisa:"Mft,I need these washed and these

ironed. Be quick,_I'm late for my spa day"

I literally stop every thing I was doing. I was torn

between beating the ass out of her or laughing my
ass out. I chose to laughed at her.

I wore my shoes then attempted to walk out but

the bitch grabbed my braids. I looked at her with
cold blooded eyes. I hated her and I wasn't even
gonna hide it.

I took hold of her tiny neck,she screamed.

Me:"Bitch don't you dare. Just because you got

into my husbands pants doesn't mean I'll let you
shit on me. Watch yourself buttercup"
I threw her on the bed then clicked my tongue. I
fixed myself up and left the room going down
stairs,only to find the husband.

I scanned the room for my keys and I found them

next to him. Shit now I have to talk to him.

I went to him by the couch.

Me:"Hi"

He looked at me then back the tv screen. I rolled

my eyes cause vele once the divorce papers are
ready,I'll trick him into signing them. I tried to get
my keys,but he quickly took them.

Me:"I want my keys. I need to get to work"

I chuckled in disbelief then took them from his
hand.

I got into my car and drove to work. Luckily the
boss wasn't in so I managed to slip on unseen.
Tasha,my friend looked at me.

Me:"_I'm waiting for the divorce papers"

He doesn't know about the abuse cause well he
never visits,because he hates Tsepo and now I get

She left and I locked onto Facebook first. The boss
has been breathing on my neck about finding the
next big business idea. He has to understand that
these things don't come to you.

Knock off time came and I think ita safe to say I

was kak tired and all I wanted was a bed to sleep
at.

I took my bag and walked to the parking lot. I got

to my car only to find out that my tires were
slashed. I knew it was the husband cause this ain't
the first time that he's shitting me. I sighed.

I looked towards the voice. It was a man,a dark
african man. He had a beard like Sjava and he had
an afro. He smiled revealing his white teeth. I
rolled my eyes cause seriously I had no time for
this. He was wearing flops and,tracksuit pants and
a polo tee. You could tell he was those guys from
the hood.

He extended his hand for a handshake,I just looked

at it then gave him a bored look. He withdrew his
hand and smile nervously.

someone who doesn't know me"

Him:"Well,I was told that you are the business
developer so I wanted to pitch my business idea to
you"

Me:"Book an appointment with my P.A and we'll

talk. Now please excuse me,I need to find a way to
get home"
Him:"Well I can take you home then fix the tires
for you. I got an extra stash at home"

I looked at him and he smiled. I rolled my eyes

then took my bag and followed him. He stopped by

He opened the passengers door for me,I looked at

him and he signalled for me to get in. I did. He got
in his side then drove off. The taxi was making
noises.

We got outside my gate. I got out and said my

goodbyes.

security guard Max popped his head. He looked at

He was so blant about the whole thing that I got

more pissed.

The guy came out his taxi.

I thought about Tasha,but I remembered that she
moved in with Lungelo so he's not an option.

At this point I had no choice, I got in his car. He
stayed outside and he spoke to Max. They was a
lot of posture changes and hand movements and
that got me curious as to what are they talking
about. I saw Max run up the driveway.

Me:"What's going on now? Is he letting me in?"

Guy:"No"
Me:"Then what up?"
Guy:"I asked him to sneak your clothes
out,something for you to wear to work tomorrow"

Guy;"Yeah"

After a while Max came with a plastic and have it

to the guy. They fist pumped and the guy got in.

Me:"Thanks"

He smiled then drove off. We got to a four roomed

house in the townships.

Him:"This is my home ke. Come"

We both got out,he switched on the lights and

honestly the place was a mess,with beer bottles all
round.

Him:"I'm sorry,my housemate is a party freak and

never cleans up his mess."
Me:"Umh,were will I sleep?"

He walked towards the passage and opened the

door to a room. It was a room with a single bed. A
study desk with a lot of papers on top of it on the
side and a wardrobe.

He left. I sat on the bed and took off my shoes and

jewelry. I wiped off the make up with my top then
got inside the covers

I was woken up by music blasting outside,I grunted

in fustration,I took hold of my bag and ruffled
through it,I got my phone and checked the time. It
was just 4am.

I got up then got out of the room,I would scream

for the guy but I forgot his name. I started roaming
about the house but I found nobody,I finally got
out and that's when I saw him. He was talking to
someone that was in a Quantum,that was the
source of music. I saw my car parked inside the
yard.

Me:"HEY!!"
He looked at me then his friend drove away,he ran
to me then stood in front of me with his hands
shoved into his pockets.

Me:"Hii"
Him:"Sup?"
Me:"Umh can I please bath?"
Him:"Your car is fixed"
Me:"Fixed?:
Him:"I thought I was clear njena"
Me:"I mean when did you fix it cause we came
back late"
Him:"I worked on it through the night"

house"

I walked to the room and sat on the bed waiting

for him to come with the basin and water.

A knock came through.

Me:"Come in"

He came in and placed the basin with water on the

floor..

He got out. I quickly undressed took a quick bath

then lotioned using the lotions I found laying
around and got dressed in my clothes. I took the
basin of dirty water and disposed of it outside. I
took my bag then walked to his taxi.

He gave me the keys

I shifted awau from the taxi and he drove off. I

walked to my car and indeed the tires were fixed. I

was the papers.

I walked back out the building. Got into my car

then drove to Tsepo's house. Luckily he was still
there. I found him sitting on the couch.

Me:"Here,I need you to sign these"

Me:"I was in heaven. Just sign the damn papers"
Tsepo:"What are they for?"
Me:"Divorce papers"

He took them out and looked at them.

I gave him a pen and watched him sign everywhere

he needed to sign and I had a smile on my little
face. He threw the papers in my face.

I marched upstairs,took my suitcases and started

packing every piece of clothing I had. When I was
done I walked out of the house,got in my car and
drove back to work. As I was coming out,I saw
Lungelo also coming out. I threw Tsepo's ring away
then ran to my brother. I literally jumped on top of
him. As big as I am. He caught me.

Me:"Twin"

I said getting down from him. We walked into the

building and got into the elevator.

He narrated his company plan. His thought was so

considerate and he would seriouslt get morw
sponsors.

Him:"I wanna indulge in logistics and before you

say anything,my trucks won't only deliver
merchandise to various organisations. I want to
also feed the needy. Provide work for black people.
I want to uproot blacks and let the people who
blame apartheid regime for their lack of capital,to
see that there is a way. I know its not big
businesswise but I think this is the only way I can

important files. I was gonna pitch it on his behalf
during tomorrow's meeting with our sponsors.
My door burst open and Leroy walked in. You
know somehow this white guy has a problem with
me. There's nothing I've done to him yet he treats

I packed up my things took my bag then walked

towards him.

went inside the house hoping to go upstairs
undetected but my plans were thwarted because
Lungelo had to see me and he had to talk.

Me:"Hey guys"
Guy1:"Come here"
Me:"No,I'm tired guys. I'll freshen up then come
down"

I walked on and on of the guys came and took my

suitcase without saying a word. I followed him. He
opened the door to a guestroom and placed the
bag on the floor.

Him:"Pleasure,I'm Mthokozisi,you?"
Me:"I'm Lungelo's sister"
He chuckled.

Him:"So people call you Lungelo's sister?"

Me:"Yes"

You see for me compliments from a man don't do

much cause I know he's complimenting me to get
something in return. But compliments from a

I called up with the agent then scheduled a

I then dried up,lotioned. I stood in front of the

wardrobe searching for something to wear,after a

I threw myself on the couch. I was kak tired from

only working with Tasha so you can imagine. A
knock came through while Tasha was invading my
fridge. I got up from the couch and opened the
door. I saw Qhawe standing there. He smiled. No
man guys this nigga is fine,especially now that he
shaved some of his beard and cut his hair.

Qhawe:"I came to pick you up."

He moved closed to me and leaned on the wall

Me:"Come in while I freshen up"

I got inside and took my phone,I told Tasha that I

would be back. I followed Qhawe to a Gusheshe.

Me:"Where's your taxi?"

He opened the door for me. We drove off in

silence. He drove into the townships then stop
outside a Chisanyama.
Qhawe:"I'll be back."

Before I could say anything he was already out of

the car.

I took out my phone and scrolled through the

net,searching for some vacancy. I heard the door
open. He gave me a plastic,and a colddrink and
tumblers. He drove off without saying a word. He
parked the car at some old park. He switched off
the engine opened his door then brought his car
seat down.

Qhawe:"I don't have the money to take you to 5

star class restaurant,at the moment this is what I
can afford but if I land this deal,I can even take you
Paris."

Me:"I don't mind"

Qhawe:"You sure?"
Me:"Yes,now lets eat I'm starving"

He reached his hand behind his seat and he came

back with a bottle of water. He poured the water
on his hands then handed it to me. I did the same.

fried chips and chicken livers.

I didn't even wait for him,as i started digging into
my meal and God was it scrumptious. I closed my
eyes as I moaned after every bite. I savoured the
juices of the chicken liver.

I opened my eyes only to find Qhawe looking at me

with a smile.

My eyes went down to his D area and the thing

Me:"My boss fired me because I pitched your

I have a masters in Business studies and B.Com.
but that degree wasn't of use. I struggled to get a
job for 3 years,then I resorted to being a taxi
driver"
Me:"Okay,tell me about you personally"

Nkosi. I'm 29,I have 2 younger sisters. I have a
vision to start a company and I think I in love with
this thick woman in front of me"

5 months later

back to reality.

most,thanks to Mr Abrahams. As he said,he
offered me a job but I refused it. I mean how was I

The door burst open and my friend from the office

I pushed the door open and my eyes landed at a

and they looked so cosy. Q was holding her hands.

Jealousy consumed me instantly and I walked to

He got up from the chair and walked away. I wiped

I sipped on my wine as the cold winter breeze

kissed my skin. I was with the girls at a pantry
of some top class restaurant. To be honest I
enjoyed their company. Sure they are snobbish
but they are independent at the same time and

She got up and that's when a gunshot was

fired. A single shot fired,the bullet penetrated
Tasha's neck and she went down. The girls
went into panick. Nokwa placed Tasha's head

doctor so I've heard. There was dead silence,as

floor.
I looked at Tasha's lifeless body,trying to fight

hope. Nokwa touched Tasha's neck and
listened for a heartbeat. She then looked at her
watch. I saw tears roll down her cheeks as she
took out her phone from her jean pocket. I
looked at her trying to search for answers on
her face. All I saw was sadness.

Nokwa:"Time of death..."

I screamed loudly. Lisa stood up and gunshots

were fired all over again. Lisa quickly went
down,as the bullets continued to be fired. Glass
broke,people screamed. Lisa's arm was
bleeding,which meant she was hit too
I had Tasha on my lap as I slapped her cheeks
hard,I wanted her to come back. She couldn't
die. What will become of me? Of her mom and
siblings? What will happen to Lungelo? She
was everyone's support system,we will all fall
apart without her. No she can't die.

Me:"Natasha,don't you dare die on me!!!"

I screamed over the gunshot sounds.

Me:"Natasha Mukelwa you better wake the

fuck up. Wake up or else...or else we won't be

I made our foreheads touch as I cried,my tears

fell on her cheeks.

I grabbed the knife on the floor and positioned

it on my wrist. The girls were busy attending to
Lisa. I looked at Tasha's dead body,her blood

Honestly Tasha's death hit us hard. To think

that one single bullet to the neck caused so
much sorrow. Its been a week since Tasha's
death,breaking the news to Tasha's mom
wasn't easy. Vele how can it be easy to tell a

her womb is gone. It wasn't easy for Tasha's
mom to take the news. She was hit hard by
those news. I still remember how she fainted
when Cebo and I broke the news to her. Her

As for the twins,God they were walking

funeral. We haven't seen Mthoko since the day

running around preparing the funeral and the
funeral was tomorrow. We were at uLundi.
Luckily Tasha's home was a huge homestead

the streets. I had decided to drop out of school
at that time and he refused for me to drop
out. I told him that I'm old enough to get
work,he told me that I'm too smart to drop out
of school.

Lungelo has always been intimidating so I

agreed. Then one day when I came back from
school,I found him backing the little clothes we
had. He told me that he had found a backroom
for us to rent. He refused to tell me how he got
the money. I later found out that he was selling
drugs . I got a bursary to study in America and
that's when I joined the F.B.I . I got a job as a
bartender and sent the money and some of my
salary when I started working for the F.B.I for
him to start school.

When I came back to S.A the previous year,he

had started a business,a successful one at that.
And to think grade 9 is the last grade she did.
That's why I want to avenge Tasha for him. He
sacrificed everything for me.

We were all at the burial site. I didn't think

Lungelo will come,but he had to say goodbye.
The coffin went down and Lungii went
crazy,she screamed and wanted to go down
with Tasha. Qhawe held onto her tightly as she
continued to jump. Lungelo was just there. He
wasn't showing any emotion. I knew exactly
who did this. I could only be him,that maniac.
We each dropped sand inside Tasha's grave
hole then the boys started filling the hole. My
phone rang,I got to my car and answered.

"I told you to drop the case. Look now your

die"

Little Kwanele's body was cremated. Nokwanda

was out for vengeance the anger in her eyes
was very visible. I saw that I was neglecting
Qhawe,so I chose to heal from Tasha's death. I
was still affected. But I had to move on right.
She would've wanted that for me.

I got to Lungelo's room. We were back in

Durban and I was staying over at Lungelo's
place since he was in a bad space. I sat on his
bed as he was staring out the window.

Me:"You good?"
Lungelo:"What do you think?"
Me:"Hey,I'm trying to be there for you. There's
no need for you to be rude"

Me:"Forget I even tried to care"

then drove to Pine Town. He was already there

I followed Mthoko to where he had kept the

man who killed my Tasha. We were welcomed

and he had no remorse. If he had any remorse,he

driver of the car following me come to a stop. A
talk muscular black guy came out of the car,with
his gun at hand he walked towards my car. I rolled
down the window of the passagers side,I aimed
the gun and I fired. The shot went to his leg. He
went down and I didn't waste any time. I got back
to my seat and drove off.

Honestly the royal family is just full of

Before I could say anything she disappeared. The

door opened and I literally jumped. It was Qhawe.

more thing to do. She dialled Nokukhanya's phone.

Nzwaki:"Nx. That boy is coming there. I need you
to kill him"
Noku:'Anything else"
Nzwaki:"No. You better not mess it up"
Noku:"I can do it with my eyes closed. Gogo"
She dropped the call. Nzwaki cursed. She hated
Nokukhanya's rudeness and if she wasn't her
granddaughter,she would've killed Noku a long
time ago.

A light shone in a corner and the spirit of King

Zulu's mother came towards Nzwaki. Nzwaki froze.

Spirit:"You succeeded in killing me but you will not
succeed in killing my son. You will die"

I placed the suitcase next to the wall then went to

Her:"She told me that it was a once off in Varsity

Lungii started running as Nokukhanya chased

after her until they got to the beginning of the
staircase.

Nokukhanya aimed the knife to Lungii's

stomach,she slit the side of Lungii's stomach.
Lungii cursed as she shifted to the
side,resulting im Nokukhanya tripping and she
rolled over the stairs,possibly falling to her
death.
