March 31, 1909 - Construction of the Titanic begins at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in
Belfast, Ireland.
May 31, 1911 - The Titanic is launched and begins fitting out with furnishings and equipment.
April 10, 1912 - The Titanic sets sail on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England, with
stops in Cherbourg, France, and Queenstown, Ireland.
April 14, 1912 - The Titanic strikes an iceberg at 11:40pm ship time and begins taking on water.
April 15, 1912 - The Titanic sinks at 2:20am, with more than 1,500 people losing their lives in
