Cast on 21 sts on each needle using the Turkish cast on
Bottom tier
Decrease rounds
Round 1: k
Round 2: ssk, k until you have 2 sts left, k2tog. Repeat on both needles
Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until you have 9 sts left on each needle
Middle tier
Shaping rounds
Round 1
N1: cast on 5 new sts with the knitted cast on. Knit all 14 sts
N2: cast on 5 new sts with the knitted cast on. Knit all 14 sts. Pick up the 5 sts
that you cast on on N1
Round 2
N1: knit all 14 sts. Pick up the 5 sts that you cast on on N2 of round 1
N2: Knit all 19 sts

Decrease rounds
Round 1: k
Round 2: ssk, k until you have 2 sts left, k2tog. Repeat on both needles
Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until you have 7 sts left on each needle
Top tier
Shaping rounds
Round 1
N1: Cast on 3 new sts with the knitted cast on. Knit the entire 10 sts
N2: Cast on 3 new sts with the knitted cast on. Knit the entire 10 sts. Pick up the
3 sts that you cast on on N1
Round 2
N1: Knit the entire 10 sts. Pick up the 3 sts that you cast on on N2 of round 1
N2: Knit the entire 13 sts
Decrease rounds
Round 1: k
Round 2: ssk, k until you have 2 sts left, k2tog. Repeat on both needles
Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until you have 3 sts left on each needle
Knit 1 round
Cut the yarn, thread the tail through the live sts, and pull tightly to close the top
You can use the tail of the yarn to hang the ornament or hide it inside the tree and attach a new
hanging thread
