Important Notes

1 Important Notes
1.1 Update installation to MTX07VRS
After an update installation to MTX07V04 , the network driver of LAN connection
2 to CMP control module must be updated.
Procedure:
1. Open device manager (click on workstation icon with right mouse button
– “Properties” – Rider “Hardware” – “Device Manager”)
2. Click on the “+” character before network adapter in the device manager
and click via mouse on the entry “PCC-P Numerical Controller” in the
popup window and select the entry “Update driver…” in popup window.
3. Select the current driver (netbrcpcc) and install it. Additionally the selection
“Install software from a list or certain source”. The driver is stored in the
following path: “C:\Program Files\Rexroth\IndraWorks\mtx\drivers”. Exit
the hardware update assistant after the installation with “Finish”.
4. Check or correct the order of network connections. To do that, open the
window “Network Connections” via “Start” – “Settings”. Open the window
“Extended” via “Extended” – “Extended Settings…”. Check the order of
network connections in the “Connections” window:
4.1. LAN connection 1)
(device name: Intel(R) PRO 100/VE Network Connection)
4.2. LAN connection 2 2)
(device name: PCC-P numerical controller)
4.3. probably further network connections
The standard network connection which is set automatically during instal‐
lation of Windows XP and which is assigned with “LAN connection” must
be on the first place of network connections. The network connections to
CMP control modules which are assigned with “LAN connection 2”, must
be in the order after the standard network connection.

By highlighting the corresponding network connection and then

clicking the “up” or “down” arrow, the order can be modified in the
“Connections” window.

The following error message can occur in an update installation after reboot:

1) The name of the network connection can be renamed.

2) The name of the network connection can be renamed.

Fig.1-1: Error message

Press <OK> and execute the following registrations after the reboot is comple‐
ted (e.g. via Start Menu \ Run …):
Regsvr32
“C:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\Bde\idapi32.dll”
Regsvr32
“C:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\Bde\idsql32.dll”

1.2 MTX compact Firmware update

During an update from a kernel version 14.1.0 or lower, an update of system
files must be executed one time. Therefore the standard Firmware Manage‐
ment is used (see also “Commissioning instruction IndraMotion MTX” in
“IndraControl L40”).

A backup of all control data must be executed before a Firmware

update!

To do this, proceed as follows:

1. In the dialog “Firmware management”, the file
“FWC-CML40-MTX-SYSTEM.fw” is selected on the left side.
2. The checkbox “Restart after download” is deselected.
3. System download is started via pressing the button “Download…”.
4. After the download, the desired Firmware version is selected on the left
side.
5. Firmware download is started via pressing the “Download…” button. The
checkbox “Restart after download” remains on “deselected”.
6. Execute NC restart and set startup mode 6 (bootstrap) to create a new
root file system.

1.3 Installation from hard disk

If it is necessary to copy the data carrier (CD1, CD2) on the hard disk to install
from there, the following must be observed:
1. Create a directory on the hard disk with the name CD1
2. On this level, create another directory with the name CD2
IMPORTANT: The directory names must be CD1 and CD2!
Release Notes | Rexroth IndraMotion MTX Electric Drives | Bosch Rexroth AG 3/46
and Controls

Important Notes

3. Copy the content of the first CD into directory CD1

4. Copy the content of the second CD into directory CD2
5. Start SETUP.EXE from the directory CD1 from the hard disk
The installation runs automatically without demanding a CD change.

1.4 Installation via CD

The reboot request is missing when installing from CD via network (e.g. access
from BTV /VPP to a CD drive of a workplace computer), but the reboot is re‐
quired. In this case, the computer must be shut down and restarted after exiting
the installation.

1.5 Documentation as Online Help

Most MTX documents are additionally available as online help (CHM format).
This online help that is not called active from the control, is stored on a separate
disc 3 in \Hilfen\DE, or \Hilfen\EN.

1.6 Important information

1.6.1 After restoring, the PLC libraries will not be applied correctly
To utilize functions or function modules of a PLC library in the PLC program,
this PLC library must be imported into IndraWorks project and afterwards it must
be referenced to this PLC library in the library manager of IndraLogic.
If the IndraWorks project is applied afterwards to another computer via archiv‐
ing and restoring, the independent referenced PLC libraries will not be recog‐
nized during starting IndraLogic and are displayed in the library manager in red.
After restoring, the not recognized PLC libraries must be deleted once and re‐
created and referenced again.

New Functions

2 New Functions
2.1 NC technology
2.1.1 System axis coupling
Feature Number: [M-0466]
Short description: This function is used as basis to cover the technology “Gear wheel process‐
ing”.
Up to 32 independent coupling networks can be defined operation mode and
channel-affecting. Up to 3 master axes can be coupled on a slave axis. Coupling
networks can be cascaded up to a depth of 3 levels.
The complete functionality is described in detail in the MTX Functional De‐
scription, chapter “Couplings”, section“System axis couplings”.

2.1.2 Velocity limitation during axis coupling with tables

Feature Number: [M-1459]
The limitation of leading axis velocity is too restrictive in special situations.
The common influence of radial and tangential acceleration can now be deac‐
tivated with the parameter #32 in the coupling table.
● #32 1
Limitation active (default)
● #32 0
Limitation is partly deactivated.

For partly deactivated limitations, it can occur that the acceleration

of the concerned axes is exceeded in specific situations.

2.1.3 Skip NC blocks in IPO

Feature Number: [M-1497]
Short description: A least 1 interpolator cycle is necessary during execution of an NC block. If the
distance of NC block is too small, the programmed velocity reduced itself so
that the distance within an IPO cycle was driven.
During machining of freely formed areas it occurs often that blocks with a very
low distance are created from the NC programs that are created from CAD
systems. As it is more necessary to observe a constant path velocity, such
minimal blocks were now skipped and the not driven distance is applied into
the distance of the next block.

2.1.4 Less-equipped 5 axis transformation RRLLL

Feature Number: [V05.01.220]
Brief Description For this special variant of 5 axis transformation, the both rotatory axes will be
consecutively adjusted via a physical drive with coupling switching. Program‐
ming coordinates and orientations will therefore be switched in axis positions.
The rotary axes were moved into this axis positions via PLC. A real 5-axis ma‐
chining is not possible with this transformation. The transformation is described
in detail in chapter 19.11 of MTX Functional Description V07 (DOK-MTX***-
NC*FUNC*V07-FK01-EN-P, R911320244).

eral. Inch programming was only possible via switching within the NC program.
Via inserting the parameter “Standard unit for asynchronous linear axes” (NCO/
CorrUnit/AsynchrAxUnit), “Inch” can now also be set as default units for asyn‐
chronous axes.

2.1.6 SD variable for NC program restart

Feature Number: [M-1442]
Short description: The next NC block to execute after NC program restart is displayed in system
date SD.SysSRun.TargBlockSrc. Therefore it is possible to be considerate of
the programming in the next block before executing the adjust functions.

2.1.7 S value indication for SERCOS spindles via PLC

Feature Number: [V07.01.1488]
Short description: Up to now, the command values for SERCOS spindles could only be generated
via NC program.

3.1.40 NC-Firmware / PLC-Kernel & Drivers

The "VexKeys" block shows wrong behavior during connection interruption
CQ-ID: Defdb00062185
Severity: K4 - malfunction (workaround exists)
Description: The function block has independent deleted an error after its occurrence if a
connection could be established again. But this does not correspond to the
desired behavior.
Fixing: After an error occurred, the error must be reset via removing the ENABLE input,
before a new connection can be established.

3.1.41 NC-Firmware / Sercos Communication

Error during accessing Sercos data via SPS-FB MT_ScsData
CQ-ID: Defdb00072097
Severity: K3 - malfunction (no workaround)
Description: An error occurred sporadically during accessing Sercos data via SPS-FB
MT_ScsData, if the spindle control reads also the values of S84/S382 with the
required data channel.
It should be possible to deactivate reading S84/S382 via Sercos-BDK for the
spindle control. If the spindle control is not used, the load on the BDK is not
required.
Fixing: Reading S84/S382 via Sercos BDK for the spindle control was only executed
if the data for the display were required. The load is reduced while accessing
just every 200 ms (previous 200 ms).

3.2 Unresolved Defects

3.2.1 IndraWorks / HMI / _Other
Part project import: During importing a visualization device an error message will probably occur
for old projects.
CQ-ID: Defdb00071884
Severity: K3 - malfunction (no workaround)
Description: IndraWorks projects which are created with older IndraWorks versions (i.e.
older than version 07V02) can probably cause the error message "The file does
not contain elements which can be imported!" during importing a new visuali‐
zation device.
Therefore data can not be imported.
Workaround: For the export/import function in IndraWorks Engineering it is requested for
older projects that the project tree was completely separated before calling the
export / import.
Therefore click on the above node in the project tree and press the "x" key (=
multiplication key *) of numerical pad. Afterwards the project tree can be closed
again with the key "-" of numerical pad.

3.2.2 IndraWorks / HMI / Configuration

Input of invalid screen number lead to endless loop IWE
CQ-ID: Defdb00071888
Severity: K2 - serious malfunction
Description: After entering an invalid screen number in screen editor, IndraWorks Engineer‐
ing can not be operated again after closing the editor.

3.2.3 IndraWorks / HMI / WinStudio

Texts in the user screen are cut off
CQ-ID: Defdb00070314
Severity: K3 - malfunction (no workaround)
Description: It occurs sporadically that texts in the user screen were cut off.
This applies only for language-depending texts.
WinCE: Exception during exiting IW-HMI on CE devices
CQ-ID: Defdb00071420
Severity: K3 - malfunction (no workaround)
Description: Exception during exiting IW-HMI on CE devices if user screens will be connec‐
ted to and will be connected via BR_CE driver acyclic (read/write permanently).

3.2.4 IndraWorks / IndraLogic / _Other

Acknowledging the command program download via Message Interface is displayed too ear‐
ly.
CQ-ID: Defdb00062312
Severity: K3 - malfunction (no workaround)
Description: Acknowledging the command "Program download" via Automation Interface is
displayed too early. Therefore the sequential execution of Automation Interface
commands is faulty.
36/46 Bosch Rexroth AG | Electric Drives Rexroth IndraMotion MTX | Release Notes
and Controls

Software

Workaround: A delay time was integrated within the Automation Interface function "Program
Download" so that the acknowledgement does not occur too early. If this is not
the case, a delay time must be integrated into the script after the command for
the download. If the "Automation Builder" tool is utilized to create the sequence,
the "Sleep" command must be utilized

3.2.5 IndraWorks / NC Operating / CPL-Debugger

NC analyzer:Communication is not interrupted during deactivating the Windows
CQ-ID: Defdb00073190
Severity: K4 - malfunction (workaround exists)
Description: If the NC-Analyzer runs in analyzer mode and is deactivated because of the
activation of another application (i.e. is displayed in the background), it can
occur that the focus is revoked during display into the output or (Quick) Watch
value window of another application.
Workaround: Before activating a new application, the NC analyzer must be reset via the F6
key "Restore operation mode" (in the 1. F key level) into the original state (op‐
eration mode next block, programming block,...).
NC analyzer: Calling the deactivated NC analyzer via the F key does not work
CQ-ID: Defdb00073213
Severity: K5 - non critical problem
Description: An NC analyzer that is started once and switched into the background, can not
be switched into the visible status via the F key F4 "NC analyzer" in the 2. F
key level of default NC screen.
Workaround: The NC analyzer can only be brought into the foreground via toggling the OP3
key (OP machine) or clicking the application in the status line per mouse.

3.2.6 IndraWorks / Programming / Simulation / Turning

Cycles G710 and G712: Vertical approach AN not effective
CQ-ID: Defdb00071487
Severity: K3 - malfunction (no workaround)
Description: The parameter AN is invalidly ignored in the cycles G710 and G712. Only a
tangential approach AT is possible.
The vertical (normal) approach is especially required for undercuts and can
reduce the approach distance for tool edge code > 5.
Workaround: If a vertical approach is required, the DIN block resolution of GNP cycle dialog
must be utilized and an additional NC block must be inserted for the approach.

3.2.7 IndraWorks / Toolmanagement / Tool List

Tool list: Sorting dialog does not work for lists with variable number of lines
CQ-ID: Defdb00069166
Severity: K3 - malfunction (no workaround)
Description: If the tool list per tool data record has more than one line that is displayed
depending of the tool edge number, the sorting of tool list does not work cor‐
rectly. The subordinate lines of sublist will no longer be displayed in the original
order after sorting.
Workaround: The sorting function should no longer be utilized for this lists. If the sorting
process was triggered despitely with a faulty result, the original display can be
restored via the function "Original order".
Release Notes | Rexroth IndraMotion MTX Electric Drives | Bosch Rexroth AG 37/46

Software

After the 1. line it can always be sorted without errors.

3.2.8 IndraWorks MTX / _Other

DPI settings of Windows Desktop
CQ-ID: Defdb00071771
Severity: K4 - malfunction (workaround exists)
Description: A higher resolution is often available on newer PCs with the same screen size.
The available default resolution of 96 DPI seems the font on this screen to be
displayed very small so that a higher DPI resolution was often set. But the user
interface was displayed for a Desktop setting of 96 DPI. Moved screen display
can occur in the interface in connection of bitmaps and icons. The calculations
for positioning in screens will partly not be displayed correctly because of this
increased DPI values.
Workaround: Reset the setting for DPI again to 96 DPI. See the settings in the Desktop prop‐
erties -> tab page "Properties" -> "Extended" button.
Firmware download on CML: The current Firmware is not displayed after reboot
CQ-ID: Defdb00073348
Severity: K4 - malfunction (workaround exists)
Description: After download + reboot of an FW into control, it can occur that "No Firmware
found" is displayed in the Firmware management dialog for "Current Firmware
in device" as the boot process of control was not yet completed during display
updating.
Workaround: For a correct display of the loaded Firmware version, the Firmware manage‐
ment dialog must be closed and afterwards reopened in case of an error.
(Requirement: Boot process is completed)
Missing M keys in some NC screens
CQ-ID: Defdb00065770
Severity: K4 - malfunction (workaround exists)
Description: Because of problems during assigning M panels, it can occur that no M keys
are displayed in some NC screens although an M key bar was entered in the
startup interface (IndraWorks Engineering) in node "MTXScreenManager",
subnode "Mode..." in the corresponding "Panel" entry.
The problem occurred if a new M key bar is created in the "M panel" node and
is assigned to a screen. Additionally this M key bar must be assigned to another
M key file in another operation. Afterwards, the above described problem oc‐
curs.
Workaround: The M key bar which does not work must be deselected and afterwards rese‐
lected in the "panel" field. Thereby the correct assignment of M key bar to NC
screen is restored. Afterwards "Activate for IndraWorks operation" must be
executed in Engineering Desktop.
NC-PLC interface: Name of the node is partly lost
CQ-ID: Defdb00073161
Severity: K5 - non critical problem
Description: IndraWorks Engineering, device node IndraMotion MTX, sub node NC-PLC In‐
terface: For several elements on the NC-PLC interface, a modified name is not
saved in the tree view if the project is closed and opened again.
Therefore the display in project tree is inconsistent to the correct display in the
dialogs and within IndraLogic.
38/46 Bosch Rexroth AG | Electric Drives Rexroth IndraMotion MTX | Release Notes
and Controls

Software

In the following there are two examples which lead to this error.
Example 1:
1. Create new element (e.g. "Channel Interface 5")
2. Close project and reopen
=> Error: Number "5" of Channel Interface will be lost in the project node, only
"Channel Interface" is displayed.
Example 2:
1. Renaming the symbolic designator in the dialog (e.g. "qChan_05" to
"qCh_5")
2. Close project and reopen
=> Error: The old name is displayed again in the project tree.
This problem does not occur if the designation is modified in the project tree via
"Rename".
Workaround: The complete I/O tree from the IndraLogic data is again build up on the node
of IndraMotion MTX because of the function "Restore I/O data consistency".
The NC-PLC Interface utilized the correct name from IndraLogic.

3.2.9 Logical Device / FIS

The NC configurator is probably not usable via remote Engineering
CQ-ID: Defdb00071561
Severity: K3 - malfunction (no workaround)
Description: Because of an error, the NC configurator can only be utilized for remote Engi‐
neering if the corresponding machine parameter scheme files were available
on the Engineering PC.
Otherwise, the NC configurator can not be started or a corresponding error
message occurs.
Workaround: Case A) operating device on which the IndraWorks Operation and IndraWorks
Engineering can both be installed.
● Please start the operating device IndraWorks Engineering, go "Online"
and open the NC configurator.
● Please exit the IndraWorks Engineering.
● Please copy the "IndraWorks\Config\Mtx" directory from the user device
(with IndraWorks Operation) to the remote Engineering PC.
Case B) Operating device on which the IndraWorks Operation is installed. In‐
draWorks Engineering is not installed.
In this case two directories must be copied to the remote Engineering PC: Di‐
rectory "IndraWorks\Config\Mtx\schemas" and directory "IndraWorks\Config
\Mtx\CfgData".
● Instruction to copy into the directory "IndraWorks\Config\Mtx\schemas":
● Please start IndraWorks Operation and ensure that there is a connection
to the control (e.g. "living" axis position display or sure modified feed over‐
ride) and exit the IndraWorks Operation again.
● Please copy the directory "IndraWorks\Config\Mtx\schemas" from the
user device (with IndraWorks Operation) to the remote Engineering-PC.
● Instruction to copy into the directory "IndraWorks\Config\Mtx\CfgData":
There are two possibilities to obtain the directory "IndraWorks\Config\Mtx
\CfgData":
Release Notes | Rexroth IndraMotion MTX Electric Drives | Bosch Rexroth AG 39/46
and Controls

Software

1. Copy from a user device on which IndraWorks Engineering was installed

and the NC configurator was opened with a control of the same NC kernel
Firmware.
2. Use the IndraMotion MTX installation variant "MTX Simulation": Install it
on a proper PC (with Windows XP SP2) start "MTX Emulation" and after‐
wards IndraWorks Engineering, create a new project, go "online" with the
device and open the NC configurator. Data will be loaded into the direc‐
tory.
Please copy the directory into the remote Engineering-PC afterwards.
Please consider that the Software and Firmware version must be identical for
this workaround with the Software and Firmware version on the user device.
Otherwise there is the danger that the schema of Engineering-PC does not fit
to the control with which you would like to connect "remote".

3.2.10 NC-Firmware / _Other

MTX system data: Error during restart after reading an MTX06 control archive
CQ-ID: Defdb00069807
Severity: K4 - malfunction (workaround exists)
Description: The error described below occurs as of MTX07 and occurs only in connection
with MTX06 control archive.
After reading a control archive that was created in MTX06 and that contains
system data, the diagnostic message "3415 error during reading the file '/
SDDatRunOnce.xml' in line 46" occurs during the requested system restart.
Cause: The data structure of the system date "SysAxCoupleCmd" (system axis
coupling command) that was first defined in MTX06, was modified incompatible
in MTX07. But an MTX06 archive still contains the old data structure which can
no longer be processed.
Workaround: Open the "SDDatRunOnce.xml" file in the file system of control in the "root"
path, remove the complete entry for system date "SysAxCoupleCmd", save the
file and execute a system restart again. Afterwards, the error will no longer
occur.
