Adding and formatting text.

Placing images into InDesign documents.

Layout and Design Basics

4. Level 1 Corel Draw (CDR) Introduction to CorelDRAW
3 classes / 4.5 hours Overview of CorelDRAW interface.
Basic drawing tools and shapes.
Introduction to layers.

Working with Text and Objects


Creating and formatting text.
Manipulating objects: scaling, rotating, mirroring.

Practice project: Designing a basic business card.

Basic Effects and Exporting


Applying basic effects: drop shadow, transparency.
Introduction to exporting files for print and web.
Practice project: Creating a simple banner ad.
5. Level 2 Ph + IL + Id + CDR Continue with the same software, but delve deeper into each, covering intermediate-level
16 Classes / 24 hours techniques such as advanced photo editing in Photoshop, complex illustrations in
Illustrator, more intricate layouts in InDesign, and advanced effects in CDR.
6. Level 3 Ph + IL + Id + CDR Further advance skills in each software, covering topics such as photo manipulation,
16 Classes / 24 hours vector art techniques, advanced typography, complex document layouts, and professional
print preparation.
7. Projects and Portfolio Ph + IL + Id + CDR In the final set of classes, students work on individual and group projects to apply their
Development 4 Classes / 6 hours skills learned throughout the course. They'll also focus on creating a portfolio showcasing
their best work in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and CDR.

“Practice Project” and “Project & Portfolio Development” are to be undertaken by the students independently and shall be part of classes.

This structured lesson plan provides beginners with a comprehensive introduction to graphic design software, gradually advancing their skills from basic to
intermediate and advanced levels, culminating in the development of a portfolio.
