Discussion Post Unit 8:

1.

Should corporations and individual consumers bear joint responsibility for sustaining the

environment? Why or why not?

Since both businesses and individual consumers use the environment, I believe that both have a

shared responsibility for keeping it sustainable. It's critical that we all preserve resources so that

there will be space for future use by others. Businesses need to make sure they continue to be

socially conscious. By doing this, they improve the company's reputation, boost employee

confidence, and ultimately raise productivity. Businesses that utilize gas emissions must to

ensure that their goods are environmentally sustainable.

2.

What obligation does each of us have to be aware of our own carbon footprint?

Every person has a responsibility to ensure that they contribute to maintaining the environment

by using items more sparingly and preventing significant environmental harm. To cut down on

carbon emissions, for instance, car owners should drive their vehicles less. By utilizing roofing

tiles that double as solar energy panels, we as individuals may employ Tesla's new technology,

which can help reduce carbon footprints. Stanberry and Byars, 2019).

3.
If individual consumers have some obligation to support environmentally friendly

technologies, should all consumers bear this responsibility equally? Or just those with the

economic means to do so?

While it would be ideal if everyone could support environmentally beneficial technologies

equally, the truth is that not everyone has the financial wherewithal to do so. For individuals who

cannot afford ecologically friendly technologies, planting more trees may be beneficial.

4.

How should society decide about matters related to environmental responsibility?

The best way for society to make decisions regarding environmental responsibility is to simply

involve everyone in the community in environmental care. They can run campaigns to inform

people of the value of protecting the environment.
