Function overview

 SPRECON-E-Firmware functions
• Control and monitoring of switchgears and other processes
• Configurable bay interlocking
• Control outputs with high making/breaking capacity (e.g. direct control of disconnector motors)
• Direct or select before operate (SBO) based command sequence
• Control of tap changers for transformers and petersen coils
• Measured- value processing with direct connection to current and voltage transformers
• Threshold-value monitoring
• Maximum demand value calculation
• Maximum value calculation (non return pointer)
• Configurable transmission mode for measured values
• Operating hours counter, switching operations counter
• Local operation via separated control panel
• Programmable logics
• Programmable automatic functions (switching sequences)
• Data archiving (event recorder)
• Short message service (SMS notification)
• Time management with DCF-77/GPS (external) or via SCADA protocol

Control functions

 The control function enables controling and monitoring of switching devices and other components

 Operation can be initiated through

• SCADA
• Station HMI
• Local HMI
• Digital Inputs
• Sequence control system

 Possible concepts of controlling

• 1-pole command output
• 1.5-pole command output
• 2-pole command output

© Sprecher Automation Training Center / 4

Control functions

 Switching command outputs are issued with the integration of switching readiness and permissibility
tests

 Tests before a command is released

• Switching device ready for operation ?
• SET VALUE = ACTUAL VALUE?
• Double operation interlocking ? (1 of n)
• Control authority ? (remote/local)
• Interlocking condition fulfilled ? (Boolean or PLC)

 After a switching command the right operation of each switching device is monitored
• Alarms are generated during operational irregularities
• Switching operation running
• Runtime overflow
• Interlocking violation

 Addressing concept
• Automatic SPRECON Addressing (IEC60870 or IEC61850)
• Or free addressing (IEC60870 or IEC61850)
• Customer profiles can be managed (Tennet, Westnetz)
• Export/import CSV interface available

Time synchronization

 Synchronization
• Network: NTP client / server
• Serial: DCF77/GPS radio clock
• Remote via IEC60870-5-101

System configuration

 Create system configuration (ONCE ONLY!)

 View data point list, tabular form or detailed form
 Analog transformer module
 Analog inputs/outputs
 Binary
 Switchgear interlocks
 Cyclic equations with Boolean algebra
 Automation control
 Sum assignment
 Grouping of signals
 Data point redundancy
 Generate IEC61850 model

Function assignment

 If the signal status changes from OFF => ON, the firmware function entered in the function input field is
executed by the component via the function assignment

© Sprecher Automation Training Center / 19

LED assignment

 Indicate panel number f. e. 1

 Indicate led number 1-25

resp. 1-100 at alarm panel

 101,102,103 are system-LED

103-> local display

 Flashing and flickering for incoming and outgoing signal before acknowledge

 „Acknowledge“ – LED switches from flashing to constant light, if the alarm is still on

Additional functions

 DPGEN, print derived data points

 Derivation, calculate measurands like elapsed hour or mean value

 Display, output format of display

© Sprecher Automation Training Center / 21

Enable command level

 Control superiority is set via a function DPGEN

command level resp. interlock will be assigned to remote/local/unlocked key

E.g. set Position LOCAL DPGEN ON and enable CP with setting of

command level via tabular form

Function UNLOCKED

 With function assignment INTERLOCKING OFF, the lock can be bypassed

Switching device parameter

 Hardware assignment and runtime will be adjusted in hardware configuration

© Sprecher Automation Training Center / 24

System configuration

 The switching device can be added in the system configuration via context menu on SD.

Boolean Algebra

 SD on/off=basic condition ∧ (bay interlock ∨ substation interlock)

© Sprecher Automation Training Center / 26

Example

 Substation interlock => bay specific for lead field

for unique referencing of a switching device in the substation interlock, the SD name must be prefixed
with the substation part from the hardware configuration, separated by '-' or '.'

Interlock for this bay

Substation - SDNAME
from which bay - which switching device

Group signal

 Suppress a signal in dependence of an event

one variable is function 52 (signal group INVALIC) and is assigned to group number

if MELD SPG FEHL all signals in group 3

are invalid
