1. Henry Waternose has five eyes. If there were 28 identical monsters like him, how many
eyes would there be altogether? Write and solve a proportion.

2. Mike filed 𝑥 number of papers but Sulley decided to file 12 for him. How many papers does Mike need to
file when he returns if there were 78 papers in all? Write and solve an equation.

3. There are four times as many purple monsters as green monsters. If 𝑝 represents
the purple monsters, g represents the green monsters, and m represents all the
other monsters, write an expression to represent the total amount of monsters.

4. Sulley was running at a pace of 2 meters per second because he was afraid of Boo. If he were to run at
this rate for 120 seconds, how far would he run? Write and solve a proportion.

5. The Monster’s Inc. logo has a radius of 5 feet.

a. What is the circumference of the circle?

b. What is the area of the logo?


6. When Celia and Mike were out to dinner, they ordered $52.00 of food and beverages.

a. The tax rate at the restaurant was 8%. Write 8% as a decimal.

7. At the restaurant that Celia and Mike went to for dinner, there was quite a large menu. A customer can
choose from four salads (Caesar, Chopped, Garden, or Greek), three soups (Chicken Noodle, Onion, or
Minestrone), and six different entrees (Pizza, Hamburger, Pasta, Chicken Tenders, Ham Sandwich, or
Grilled Cheese).
