[Hiring Manager's Name],
Are you still reviewing applicants for the [Position Title] role at [Company Name]?
I've sent my resume but thought I'd highlight the key skills and experiences that I
believe align closely with the job description:
[Skill/Experience 1]: [Brief explanation of how it relates to the role]
[Skill/Experience 2]: [Brief explanation of how it relates to the role]
[Skill/Experience 3]: [Brief explanation of how it relates to the role]
Would be great to discuss this in person but do let me know if there's any additional
information I can provide or if you need further clarification on my qualifications.
Thank again,
Neritan Sulaj

Hope that helps.
And just remember. Delaying with a follow-up will only delay the process.
Your goal is to get a firm yes (or no) so you can move forward with or without them.
--------
Recently I told you that recruiters rank our jobs and clients in order of priority...
It's true. Anyone who says they don't is fabricating the truth.
On the contrary, what we 𝘢𝘣𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 don't do is rank candidates.
Every candidate (human) is treated with respect, honesty and a fair chance at finding
something new.
Well, at least they should be.
But, in theory, how could you as a candidate make yourself an A candidate, rather than
a B or C?
- Apply for opportunity's and follow up with a message or email. Sounds simple, but
stands out.
- Be specific in your CV. Use numbers & % to show how your contributions made a
difference.
- Offer references without being asked (big green 🏳, so find referees)
- Demonstrate that you're upskilling in your own time (free courses)
- Dig deep and become truly aware of what you can (and can't) bring to an employer
and hone in on this skills
Again, theoretically, you might have unknowingly set yourself up for a difficult job
search if
- You've over inflated your salary expectations and won't budge.
- Your CV talks about surface level tasks NOT contributions, responsibilities and
specifics.
- You aren't being flexible on hybrid requirements (honestly, I know it's hard for some
people - just saying)
- You aren't building relationships with recruiters OR hiring managers. Honestly, you can
call a recruiter first. I'm genuinely impressed by people who proactively contact me
first.
And there you have it, some advice on how to hopefully improve your job search.
Find some advocates of you. Build relationships with recruiters. Know what you bring to
the table.
