VOAG JOURNAL

In this subject we learned alot about “Vocational Agriculture”. We learned that it will help us in
the future. We learned how important it is to learn more about agriculture. About how agriculture
affects us and our economy.

Before we started, we had no idea how to properly create an agricultural plot. We had a hard
time hoeing the soil, and we had no idea how to properly plant, water, and soften the soil. But
our subject teacher came to the rescue and guided us, that's why things got smoother after that.

The first few days were creating a plot and planting some plants.

The first agricultural plot was mainly made by our subject teacher. We helped in making the
agricultural plot while our teacher guided us.
After that, the second plot was made.
This agricultural plot was mainly made for the whole grade-9 students, monggo seeds were
planted in it.

After that, our teacher paired us and assigned each of us to create our own plots.

I was paired with Queenie. Me and Queenie Layag decided to plant some “mani” with the
guidance of our subject teacher. She told us that once it grows, it will have yellow flowers in it,
just like the flowers on the school front yard.

A few weeks have passed, there were leaves that sprouted. But the leaves were strangely less
than what we expected. A problem occurred, me and Queenie had to figure out how to solve the
issue. Apparently, during that time, our classmates had abit of a social conflict. But after a while,
their problem was solved and we came to a conclusion to grow our plants and start again. My
partner and I decided to grow some tomatoes. This decision was made with the help of our
friend’s opinion. Janine gave us some options, she gave us her ideas on what plants could grow
faster than other plants that were already planted in other group's plots. Tomatoes were the best
option in my opinion, Janine and Queenie agreed to it. We planted it, and a few days later,
leaves could be seen.

The leaves that sprouted gave us a sense of accomplishment. But maybe it was the friends and
guidance we got along the way that made us feel accomplished and fulfilled in the end.
