key evide nce before forensics could sweep the location. The last incident
was in 2012,(11 years ago) and has not had an issue since (probably
brought up in cross)

● “Everyone, and I mean everyone, in town knew they hated each other”
● They went back and forth and involved the police
● In February of 2023 someone had tried to burn down the onomonpizza
(booker)
● Booker wanted to charge Esper but there was no evidence
● Booker’s bar had to close for several days affecting business
● On May 15, 2023, Esper bought Booker's bar
● Esper was a festival sponsor and Booker lost it screaming, “I am going to
kill you! I am going to kill you! You ruined me!......” (May 19th)
● Interview with Robin Lesco revealed the following conversation between
Booker and Esper, “Now I've got you, either you stop all these dirty tricks,
or I am going to double your rent “- Esper “What’s the matter, can't take
a little competition?” - Booker “You either toe in line or I'll evict you”-
Esper “I knew you were a dirtbag, but I never thought you'd extort to
extortion. What goes around comes around. Karmas a nasty mistress”-
Booker
● Lesco also revealed that she overheard booker say something like “Yeah I
told you I'd take care of you and your family if it came to that”
● Phoenix (Sams Chesnut) stated that the feud went to the internet
targeting each other's reviews
● “Booker is definitely guilty, and as soon as the jury reaches that obvious
conclusion, I’ll have my first murder conviction.”
IMPORTANT DETAILS

phone call the night of the murder and a few interesting phone calls
● On May 17th there were cash withdraws from bookers account for 7,000
and 5,000 through their personal account
● I had a feeling that chestnut was involved
THE MURDER

discovered the body
● Body was not untouched
● Esper had been shot execution style (back of his head) his dog has also
been shot
● Concluded there was not a struggle
● Robbery was not a motive
● The front door camera was not working
● It was more than likely that the killer entered through the back door
● The following day Booker was nowhere to be found to conduct an
interview, that resulted in her becoming a prime suspect
● Sudo told Sam about the .38 caliber revolver and about the dog, which has
not been released by the public.
● Sudo also told Sam that Booker hired him to kill Esper.
● There was an arrest warrant for Ruddy's place and found the caliber and

23rd
● After confronting Sudo with the physical evidence, he requested a lawyer
● I went on to tell him, about the eye witness, booker using him, and
alluding to booker framing him
● Once an offer was made for his cooperation offer to testify against booker
he admitted to owning the firearm and being in the hole that night but to
drink
● The hole isn’t open on Tuesdays,
THE ISSUE OF SUDOS INVESTIGATION (will likely be asked in cross)
● Judge disagreed with me because Sudo asked for a lawyer
● However, no questions were made just statements
● The judge called the chief and DA to suggest I “take refresher training on
the Sixth amendment”
● “I stand by my interrogation; I would definitely do things differently now”
● secured warrants for the arrest of Booker and Sudo for the murder of
Geoffrey Esper and Sudo for aggravated cruelty to animals for the death
of Rags.
BOOKER ( maybe should be brought in through effect of the listener)
● Her father has been ill and after being embarrassed by Esper at the
festival, she went home to clear her head and spend time with her family.
I asked Booker if they knew of Esper’s death – and the reply was chilling,
“Good news travels fast.” I asked Booker if they knew Sudo, and Booker
replied with a bit of a surprise, "You mean the deck guy?!?
THEME: “Spite aimed the gun but revenge pulled the trigger”

THEORY: We the prosecution believe and will prove that the defendant,
st
Addison Booker, is guilty of conspiracy to commit Murder and 1 degree
Murder. Always holding a grudge against her business competitor from the
moment they opened next to each other to the eventual loss of her business to
Geoffrey. The loss pushed her to the breaking point of eliminating the
competition for good.

OPENING:Good morning, Your Honor, opposing

counsel, and members of the jury. My name is
Arianna Fuller, and I have the privilege of
representing the State of Pennsylvania in this case.
Today, we are here to seek justice for Geofrey
Esper, a man whose life was tragically cut short
over what began as a seemingly petty competition
between two neighborhood businesses. However, as
you will see, this competition escalated into
something far more sinister, a deadly rivalry that
cost Mr. Esper his life.
Geofrey Esper was the proud owner of "The Hole in
the Wall," a small but beloved local business nestled
in Susquehannock Square. Mr. Esper had recently
come into a bit of good fortune—he won a
significant sum from a scratch-off lottery ticket.
Like any responsible business owner, he chose to
reinvest that money into his livelihood, hoping to
expand his business and secure a better future.

But this success sparked jealousy, greed, and

ultimately, violence from his competitors. In
particular, the evidence will show that the
defendant viewed Mr. Esper’s newfound fortune as
a threat. Rather than improving their own business
or accepting healthy competition, the defendant
took matters into their own hands, plotting to
remove Mr. Esper as a rival—permanently.
Throughout this trial, you will hear from witnesses
who will testify to the growing tension between the
two businesses, a tension that culminated in a
deliberate act of violence. You will see evidence that
points to the defendant’s calculated actions and
their clear motive. The evidence will show that what
began as a rivalry for customers turned into a cold-
blooded plan to end a life.

By the end of this trial, members of the jury, you

will see that there is only one conclusion you can
come to—that the defendant is guilty of the
premeditated murder of Geofrey Esper. Justice asks
that we hold the defendant accountable for their
actions.

Thank you.

DIRECTS:
JAYDEN- (Responses written under questions are guidelines to help the witness know
what to say and have an idea of what i'm going at by asking a question)

Good Evening, could you state your name and spell out your last for the jury?
“Hi, yes my name is Jayden Kobayashi, K-o-b-a-y-a-s-h-i.

What do you do for a living?

“Well, I'm a detective for the Wisawe PD and have been since 2019.

What did you do before you became a detective for the police department?
“I had been a regular uniformed cop for around 10 years responding to all sorts of calls
such as, automobile accidents, robberies, shots fired, and other crimes that ranged from
misdemeanor to felonies.

Being a detective is an important job; What are your qualifications for it?
“I have graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science and a minor in Social
Justice. I had carried over a ton of experience from the years as a uniformed cop and I was
sent out to the ‘Advanced Pennsylvania Police Academy’ for my training. There, I learned more
about criminal investigations, drug enforcement/recognition, constitutional rights, forensics,
and physical fitness. I also am sure to recertify on crime scene management and firearms
annually.

Let's move towards the reason why we are here; Where were you on Tuesday, May 23 2023?
“Well, I was getting ready to rest up from the work day when I had been dispatched to a
call at the bar called ‘The Hole In The Wall’. When I showed up on scene, I found officer
Florence Wehry waiting and he told me that Espers’s body was lying in his office dead. She
said that a “Pookey Thomas” from over at the Hare Pin Brewery had made the call and found
his body.

So what can you tell me about the scene when you walked in?
First thing that you see when you walk inside the room was [Link]’s body slumped
out on his desk with an execution-styled gun shot through the back of his head. We waited for
the Medical Examiner and the CSU to arrive on scene. When they showed up, the Medical
Examiner had pronounced Esper dead on scene and moved the body away to the morgue.
What did you and the CSU unit discover looking through the scene?
Together, we walked the scene to investigate the state of the office and any potential
evidence like, hair, fingerprints, nails, ect. We saw that the office wasn't in any sort of disarray
removing robbery out of the question and that no defensive wounds were on Espers’ body
meaning there was no struggle.

When walking through the scene, were there any signs of a break in?
When we walked through we noticed that none of the windows had been broken and
that meant there could only be two ways into the office: 1, the front door 2, the backdoor with
the keypad.

When clearing through the room, the front door was blocked, correct?
Yeah, the front door had been barred meaning no one could get in unless locked from
the outside meaning that the most likely entry point was that backdoor with the keypad.

What did you do after securing the crime scene?

Well, the next day after some rest, I wanted to get interviews done. Both Esper’s Widow
and Pookey Thomas, (the head of the promotions department over at Hare Pin Brewery) said
to me that the feud that had been occurring between Addison and Booker had gotten really
bad.

Addsion’s name came up during both interviews, what did you decide to do with that
information that interviewees provided?
I thought it would be best to talk to Booker so that they can give their stance on the
view but it appeared that Addison had skipped town and no one had seen them sense after
what they said at the party at the Square.

What effect did this have on your investigation?

Considering what she had said that day, the fact that she had skipped town and that
she had been in a “war” with Esper it made Addison my primary suspect in the murder.

What did she say that day in the Square?

Addison had run up on the stage and took the mic from the singer and said “I'm going
to kill you! I'm going to kill you! You ruined me! You ruined me! I'm going to kill you!” to Esper.
Considering that your main suspect had skipped town, how did you continue your
investigation?
Over the next couple of days, I interviewed current employees of Hole in the Wall and
another witness named Phoenix Webb.

After you spoke to Phoenix Webb How did your investigation progress?
Phoenix had given me valuable information on the fight between Esper and Booker and
it led me to look at their online Google and Yelp pages and print them out.

What did Phoenix tell you?

Phoenix told me that their “fight” had gone digital and they had started to target each
other's pages.

(Might bring in evidence of the Google and Yelp pages; have to look at them later.)

After looking through the webpages where did you go from there?
It took a little bit for the case to start up again but I caught wind of an altercation at
Sam’s that involved booker. Sam told me what had happened but he also talked about a
conversation that he had with Randy Sudo.

Was Randy Sudo someone previously on your radar before the conversation with sam?
No, the conversation that I had with Sam wrapped Sudo in the thick of it and I had PC
to go and get a warrant to search his home.

What did Sam tell you in that conversation? (hearsay within hearsay)
[The hearsay for Sudo to Chestnut can be covered with 803(18)(e) and then for Chestnut to our
Detective we can use Effect on the Listener]
Sam said to me that when he had Randy over to install ovens for him Randy said, the
perpetrator shot Esper with a .38 caliber revolver and how Esper’s dog was also shot and killed
while laying at Esper’s feet

But no one had any access to this information yet correct?

Yes, we try to keep ourselves from oversharing to discourage prank calls and
conspiracy theorists from calling and keeping people with real information on the line so
when I heard this from Sam it was surprising and suspicious that Randy somehow knew this.
Back to the conversation you had with Sam, What else did he say?
Well we went on and said that Sudo told him that Booker had paid him off to kill Esper.

You mentioned that this conversation gave you Probable Cause to search his home; What did
you find?
Well, when we went to search the apartment that he lived in we found a .38 caliber
revolver and a box of .38. Using ballistics we confirmed that this was in fact the same gun used
to shoot and kill Esper and that the ammunition was consistent with the projectile found in
Esper’s body by the Medical Examiner.

Was there anything else that you found of importance?

We had also found a business card with some numbers scrawled on the back either
being 27878 or 27818. I asked the crime lab to take a look at it but they said they couldn't match
the handwriting and with the classes that I had taken in forensics Booker’s 1’s and 7’s looked
similar to each other. We also found a phone bill under Sudo’s name.

What was on that phone bill statement?

It gave me his cell phone number along with a chain of messages between the two.

After reading the messages, what did you do?

I subpoenaed Booker’s financial records for both his business and his personal
account. I found that on May 17th, he withdrew 7,000$ from his business and 5,000$ from his
personal account. We found nothing else of importance after this at home.

(Enter in text messages (hearsay proven through effect on the listener from him subpoenaing
Booker’s records))

Once you flipped the place upside down, what was your next course of action?
We got word back from forensics that the fingerprints that we gathered on the day of
the murder matched with Sudo’s prints meaning that he was there on May 23. This gave me all
that I needed to go and get a warrant for both Sudos and Booker’s arrest.

When you got the warrant what happened?

We searched for Sudo, we dragged him in for an integration and then went and
snagged Booker afterwards.

That’s all I needed to hear; Thank you.

What occurred after?
- Though I could not see directly I know for sure that the voice coming from the
person with Booker was Randy Sudo.
Who is Randy Sudo?
- Randy Sudo is famously known around town as an immoral person.
What did you observe between the two?
- I saw Booker storm through the soda bar without greeting any of the workers
and said in a impatient tone “You ready’
What happened after that?
- They spoke very secretively and then in a rougher tone Booker said again “Hey
are you ready?”
What occurred after that
- Randy responded and then Booker said “It’s not like you haven’t done it before”
and after more conversation between the two, booker said “That dirtbag Esper
going to get whats coming”

Excited uderrence

other, there was an incident where Booker's porch was set on fire.

POTENTIAL RESPONSE
- “Didn’t you say bookers model was lousy (Or anything that presents a level of bias)
RESPONSE

around
Id like to go back to one of the restaurants you mentioned, Onomotopizza

CROSSES:

Booker’s Cross
Good Morning, [Link].
I just wanted to follow up with a couple of questions from your testimony.
You testified to the fact that you and [Link] had been in a feud over your businesses
correct?
Ex. (yes)
On the day of the “Savor the Square” fest on the 19th of may, you said directly to Esper “I’m
going to kill you,” didn’t you?
Ex. (I was upset about my business and how things had turned out)
You said this in front of the large crowd of people attending the event, correct?
Ex. (yes)
All of this came a little while after you got the news of your business being bought out right?
Ex. (yes)
These actions from Esper in your restaurant had made you upset, didn't it?
Ex. (yes)
Now, just a few days before the murder of Esper you had pulled 12,000 dollars out of your
bank accounts didn’t you?
Ex. (yes I had)

You said that this money was to be given to Randy Sudo so that he could rebuild your deck
right?
Ex. (Yes)
You never received receipts or invoices from Sudo for the money being used for the deck;
Correct?
Ex. (It was more of a verbal agreement…)
Construction takes time, but you didn’t even have a list of materials and the price breakdown
from Randy did you?
Ex. (No I didn’t)
So you handed over the 12,000 to Randy and the deck had not been started on before you and
Sudo were taken in, correct?
Ex. (No, there hadn’t been any work done on the deck)
Now you said you never really knew Sudo that well didn’t you?
Ex. (That’s right)
Even in the short time that you’ve known each other you seemed to text a lot right?
Ex. (Yeah we chatted over the phone about how I would need the deck done)
[Enter Messages into evidence or use them if already in]
[Evidence Entered]
In these messages you supposedly said were about the deck, not a single one mentions the
word “deck” right?
Ex. (The word ‘deck’ isn’t in our messages)
On the day of the murder, Sudo texted you the words “Square is too busy” at 18:25 and then
later at 20:34 he said “It’s done, Made quite the mess but, it’s all sorted now.”
Is it true that you didn’t know what “it” was?
Ex. (I thought he would have been talking about the deck)
But you just stated that the deck was never finished, didn't you?
Ex. (That’s right)
Lets quickly review, You said you had no involvement in the murder of Esper, correct?
Ex. (That’s right)
You withdrew 12,000 dollars out of your account to be given to Sudo before the murder didn’t
you?
Ex. (yes)
But you were left with no documentation of anything being done with the money for the deck,
right?
Ex. (That's right)
And you had been in contact with him during the day of the murder according to your guy’s
messages, correct?
Ex. (Yes I had)
But you have no explanations for these conversations and texts that you had with him, right?
