Pochacco

Pochacco is a playful puppy who loves banana Materials:

Notes:
SC | single crochet HDC | half double crochet
❖ This pattern is written in US terminology.
❖ You can use any yarn weight and hook size, I INC | increase R | round
included what I have personally used.
❖ Work in rounds (continuous spiral) and do not DEC | decrease (x) | total stitch count in round

❖ I suggest when to add stuffing, but you can do SLST | slip stitch (x, y) | repeat terms

Optional (with acrylic yarn, page 3 for images):
for his hair, take 3 strips of white yarn (about two FO, sew remaining hole closed
fingers lengths long because it will shed)
tie them to 3 st, all next to each other one RND
down from the top
take a fine brush and brush the yarn until it
becomes fluffy
cut the hair until it’s about 1 cm long

Hair | optional, works with acrylic yarn

Make 3 strands Stick your hook through the first row Grab one of the strands and fold
it in half

Pull through and make a loop Pull the tails through the loop Pull the tails tight to make a knot

Do the same with the 2 remaining Brush out the hair Give him a haircut (~1 cm)

Feet (make 2) and Body | white and blue (shirt colour) yarn

Starting with white:

R1: sc 5 in MR (5)

R2: inc x 5 (10)

R3-R4: sc 10 (10)

FO, cut yarn tail off first leg

Repeat R 1-4 for second leg, do not cut yarn, we’ll continue onto the
body (page 5 for images).

R5: SC 4, INC, join first leg by INC into any ST, SC 8, INC, then back to
second leg: INC into the ST next to where you left off, SC 4 (24)

Sew the hole between the legs closed

R6: SC 24 (24)

Change to blue (or your choice for the shirt)

R7-R10: sc 24

R11: (sc 2, dec) x 6 (18)

Stuff the body

FO, leave a long tail for sewing

Connecting the Legs

After sc 4 and inc, stick your hook in Pull yarn through, just like any other sc Finish the sc and continue onto the 8
any stitch on the first leg sc and inc

What it should look like when you Insert the hook back into the other leg Proceed with the pattern

There will be a hole, so sew it closed Round finished and sewn closed Connected legs

Starting with white: With black:

R1: sc 5 in MR (5) R1: sc 6 in MR (6)

R2: inc x 5 (10) R2: inc x 6 (12)

R3: sc 10 (10) R3-R10 [8 rows]: sc 12 (12)

Change to blue (or your choice for the shirt) Stuff halfway full

R4-R7 [4 rows]: sc 10 (10) R11: flatten the top, SC 5 across, closing the top

Stuff halfway full FO, leave long tail for sewing

R8: flatten the top, SC 4 across, closing the top

Closing the Arms and Ears

Pinch the top closed Stick your hook through both sides Pull yarn through both sides

Finish the sc Do the same with the next few stitches Top fully closed

Duck Bag (2 sides) | yellow yarn

R1: sc 5 in MR (5)

R2: inc x 5 (10)

R3: (sc, inc) x 5 (15)

FO, cut yarn tail off first side

Repeat R 1-3 for second side, do not cut yarn, we’ll join
them together.

R4: Take both sides SLST 9 so they are joined together,


with the top still opened (9)

For ducks top feathers:

All in the front side (closest to you, page 9 for images),


slst 2, [ch 2, in the next st, hdc, slst into the same st],
repeat into the next st, slst 2, ch 24 for the strap and
slst right before the first 2 slst

FO, sew in loose ends

On the second side (with feathers at the top), add a


face, sew a bit of black and orange yarn to make it look
like a duck

Add the face
Assembly

Sew body onto head

Sew arms onto body, where the head and body


meets

Sew ears 4R from the top of the head

(You can add the face however you want)

Cut 2 small ovals out of pink felt, 1 small oval out of


black felt, and 2 "n" shapes for the eyes

Glue the face 14 R down from the top, the nose in


the middle, and 2 st between the nose and each
eye. The blush should be glued next to the eyes,
about half a st down

Put the duck bag on, by putting the body through


the strap (it will not fit over his head)

Assembly

Body to head Arms where head and body meet Ears 4 R from the top

To secure, stitch the needle down 2R Line it up with the ear and stick it Sew to where the other side of the ear
on the head through started
