AIRS-400

Pilot’s Guide

Equipment
AIRS-400 is a 4K ultra high definition flight data recorder. The recorder
records all operations made by the flight crew in the cockpit as well as
all instrument indications within the view of the recorder. Other
parameters such as WAAS GPS 3D position; attitude data including
pitch, roll, and yaw; acceleration data (G forces); and rates of rotation
are also recorded.

DC power is provided by a 5-amp circuit breaker in the cockpit. The

AIRS-400 circuit breaker will deactivate the recorder when pulled.

Operation
This system does not require flight crew interface during aircraft operation. The flight crew only needs to
ensure that an Appareo SD card is in AIRS-400 before flight operations.

NOTE: During low light operations, quality of images may be reduced

To insert memory card:

1. With the aircraft powered off, open the access door
on AIRS-400.
2. Insert the SD memory card so that the metal
contacts on the card are inserted first and facing the
back of the recorder. Push in to secure.
3. Power on the aircraft. When the LED turns green
(after about 30 seconds) the recorder is ready. If
the LED does not turn green, refer to the table on
the next page.
4. Close the AIRS-400 access door.

To remove memory card:

1. With the aircraft powered off, open the access door on AIRS-400.
2. Push in the SD memory card to release and remove it.
3. Close the AIRS-400 access door.
