GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION
- Course Title: An Introduction to Interpretation
COURSE INTRODUCTION
This course, An introduction to interpretation, aims to help you use the academic skills in interpreting conversations and
talks consecutively and simultaneously from English to Vietnamese and vice versa.
With the knowledge, skills and competence gained from this course, you will be able to interpret short conversations with
familiar topics and short talks about daily issues. This is the foundation for the next level of interpretation in the next
course: Interpretation in practice.
You will have various chances to practise interpreting and giving feedback on your peers' interpretation works. Therefore,
you will become more confident in the job with all these helpful and practical hands-on experience.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
1. Attendance: Compulsory, which means:
- Students will not be entitled to take any form of assessment if they miss more than 20% of the class hours.
2. Preparation of the materials in advance: Compulsory. Any learner will be asked to leave the class if it is found
that (s)he is unprepared for the classes.
ASSESSMENT TASKS
Attendance: 10%
Mid-term test: Weekly assessment tasks, mid-term test. 30%
End-of-term exam. 60%
