(1) AGGRESSIVE position
(2) MODERATE position
(3) ECONOMY position
(4) Three-position switch for the variable shift control
The variable shift control uses the engine speed in order to provide optional autoshift points. The
variable shift control uses the position of three-position switch (4) and the engine speed in order to
determine the autoshift points for the transmission.
The three-position switch for the variable shift control has three inputs to the power train electronic
control module (ECM). The three-position switch for the variable shift control allows the operator to
select a range of operation for the system.
The three-position switch for the variable shift control has three settings: AGGRESSIVE position (1),
MODERATE position (2), and ECONOMY position (3). The ECONOMY position allows the power
train ECM to determine shift points at a low engine speed. Each of the remaining positions

increases the shift speeds. The AGGRESSIVE position forces the transmission to shift with the
engine at full throttle.
