Constitution

Preamble

With the sons and daughters of Akili-Ogidi having firmly and solemnly Resolved to live as one in love, to
practise tolerance and live together in peace anywhere one is living, To unite our strengths and establish
conditions Under which we can promote social progress, acceptable culture and traditions an enhanced
standard of life, do hereby enact and give to ourselves this constitutions.
Article 1

a. The group shall be known, called And addressed as Akili-Ogidi Sons and daughters brackets
(ASD) Hereinafter referred to as ( the group).
b. Supremacy of the group and it’s constitution: Except where there is inconsistency with the
provisions of the Federal Republic of Nigeria constitution, The provisions of the constitution of
the group takes precedence.
c. Location: The registered office or the headquarters of the group shall be located in Akili-Ogidi,
Ogbaru local government area of Anambra state With branches in such other places where the
sons and daughters of Akili-Ogidi resides.

Article 2

Aims on objectives of the group:

a. Call to create an opportunity to come together and know ourselves so people from the same
community living in the same area.
b. Afford us an opportunity to know ourselves better and be helpful to one another when there is
an opportunity.
Article 3

a. Membership: Membership of the group is opened to all sons and daughters of Akili-Ogidi Living
in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.
b. Membership shall be known by registration with a Prevailing payments of a fee and formal
introduction to the group. the date of such payments an introduction marks the effective date
of membership.
c. A thick cover notebook shall be provided to record list of members, and their phone numbers.

Article 4

Sources of revenue

a. Monthly fee: This should be from registered members of the amount monthly due.
b. Registration fee: This shall be from new members as an entrance fee into the group.
c. Private donation: this shall be from donations from members and non-members into the group
account.
d. Levy: This shall be by members as have agreed and approved by the group.
e. Loans: This shall be after deliberation and approval by the group for a specific project and details
of repayment must be made known to members.

Article 5

Officers of the group and their functions

a. The group shall have the following officers running its affairs.
I. Chairman
II. Treasurer
III. Secretary
IV. Financial secretary.
a. Duties of the officers
I. Chairman:
 Shall preside over all meetings of the group in which he is present.
 Summon all meetings of the group.
 Sign all minutes of the meetings in conjunction with the secretary.
  sign of vouchers for withdrawal jointly with the treasurer.
 Having casting votes during meetings on any issues only when there is equality of
votes.
II. Secretary
 shall be in charge of secretariat of the group
 Convene All meeting on the directive of the chairman
 Take minutes of meeting
 Prepare annual report.
III. Treasurer
 Shall take custody of the money of the group.
 Carry out all bank transactions
 Make payments with the authority of the chairman.
 Keep proper account of money received and payed out.
 Sign all vouchers for withdrawals.
 Keep an interest account
 Presents annual account
IV. Financial secretary
 Shall collect the group money
 Keep accurate account of money received and maintain proper financial records.
 Pay all money collected to the treasurer.
 Present annual financial report.

Article 6

Tenure of office holders

Except for the office of the chairman, every other office shall be by election and to be agreed on by the
members.

Change of office holders

Office holders shall be replaced on the following reasons

a) Death
b) Ill-health
c) Non-performance
d) Relocation
e) Boredom/resignation
Or for any other acceptable reasons by members and such replacement shall be done by
selection/election of another member deemed capable.

Article 7

Benefits of membership

A. Members are allowed to use group platform two projects ideas or schemes beneficial to the
entire people Akili-Ogidi.
B. On the death of a member, the members shall participate fully in the burial ceremony and a
condolence purse of the sum of N__________________ would be given.
