Stoner Software License File [Link]
Installation Guide November 2010
Introduction
New with this product, license files have a *.lic extension, rather than the old
version *.dat license files. The new license files are not backwards compatible.
Germanischer Lloyd (GL) encourages that you to leave the file name intact as it
represents the unique serial number generated specifically for you.
Single-use licenses
Your single-use license has been locked to a hardware dongle, your Windows®
User Name, or your computer name, as it was provided by the Primary Contact at
your organization. This means that the license file can be used only once for the
person or PC it was intended.
Multiple-use licenses
Multi-use licensing, also known as network licensing, is designed so that a license
server will manage and provide licenses to requesting products. The steps for
installing your new Stoner Software license file will need to be applied to both the
License Manager product on the license server and for each client machine where
the product is installed. Please consult the Multi-Use Licensing Guide for more
detailed instructions on setting up the license server.
Stoner Software License File Installation Guide
Installing your new Stoner Software
license file
Please follow the simple instructions below to begin using your new license file. For
detailed license file installation instructions, please consult your Stoner Software
product documentation.
If the license file was provided to you via an email, please save the file to your hard
drive in a location that can be referenced later. Select one of the following sets of
instruction based on your scenario:
If you are installing the product
1 The install will prompt you to locate the license file (ending in .lic) that you
saved and will automatically copy the license file to the appropriate folder.
2 If you have a multi-use file, this same license file is used for all users and
copied to the license server.
3 This completes your license installation. Simply launch your Stoner Software
product and it will find the appropriate license features for its use.
If you are updating an existing license file
1 If the Stoner Software product that uses the license file you are trying to update
is currently running, save any unsaved work and close the product.
2 Open Windows Explorer and simply copy the new license file into a folder
below, depending on your operating system. More than one *.lic file can exist in
this folder.
XP – C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\Stoner Software\License
Files
Vista – C:\Program Data\Stoner Software\License
Files
Windows 7 – C:\Program Data\Stoner Software\License
Files
3 This completes your license installation. Simply launch your Stoner Software
product and it will find the appropriate license features for its use.
