SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM – FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR RS–607

REMOVAL
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
1. PRECAUTION
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY
TERMINAL
Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the
cable to prevent the airbag from working.
3. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE (See page ET-4)
4. REMOVE FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and front airbag sensor.
(b) Disconnect the connector from the sensor.

INSTALLATION
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
1. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR
(a) Check that the ignition switch is OFF.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the
battery negative (-) terminal.
CAUTION:
After disconnecting cable from the terminal,
wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the
operation.
(c) Check that there is no slack in the installation parts
of the front airbag sensor.
(d) Connect the connector to the front airbag sensor.
(e) Install the front airbag sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf)
NOTICE:
• If the front airbag sensor has been dropped,
or there are any cracks, dents or other
defects in the case or connector, replace it
with a new one.
• When installing the front airbag sensor, make
sure that the SRS wiring does not interfere
with any other parts and that it is not pinched
between other parts.
2. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE (See page ET-11)
3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY
TERMINAL
Torque: 3.9 N*m (40 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf)
4. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
(See page RS-28)
