Digital Literacy Tutorial 1 -MS Word
1. Create a folder called “DLTutorial” in Local disk (D:)
2. Start Microsoft word.
3. Open new blank document and type the text given below.
Internet
Communication is a key element in the transformation of society. In the span of just hundred
years, the development of new communication technologies have transformed societies from
a very locally-oriented or neighborhood communication to a regional society, then to a
national society, and finally to a global one.
The following are some of the applications of Internet, which are known most widely:
a. Electronic-mail
b. Usenet
c. Telnet
d. File Transfer protocol
e. World Wide Web
4. For the Title Font type “Times New Roman”, Font Size 14, Alignment “center”.
5. Select page setup from Page Layout menu and make the following settings.
Top and bottom margin- 1”
Left and Right margin- 1.5”
6. For the paragraph: - font type- Times New Roman, font size- 12, Alignment-Justify, Line
spacing =1.5 lines.
7. Identify all the elements of the Header and Footer toolbar and use them to create the Header
and footer given below.
Header: Left side “Ms-word tutorial” and Right side “Your Name”.
Footer: Left side “current date and Right side page number”.
8. Check spelling and grammar of your document
9. Apply different bullets to the numbered list 1 to 5.
10. Apply full justify for your both paragraphs.
11. Save your document in Word tutor folder with name Worksheet 1.
12. Close your document and Exit from Ms-Word.
13. Start Ms-Word again and open your document.
2. Create the following table & type all the entries in page 2.

2. Make Line space for the whole table =1.5
3. Make the first rows header rows.
4. Change the text direction of the second row & observe the effect.
5. Insert a row below the table and at the right side and write Total Price.
6. Sort the items by their name in Ascending order
