Human Design
The History
In 1987 the Canadian Alan Krakower had a mystical encounter with what he later
described as “the Voice”. The encounter lasted for 8 days during which he received a
transmission of information - today known as "The Human Design System”.

What is Human Design?

Human Design is a synthesis of The Chinese I’Ching, Eastern & Western Astrology, The
Hindu Chakra System, The Judaic Kabbalah and Quantum Physics. It all comes together in
what is called the ‘BodyGraph’ represented by the figure with the 9 centers in the middle.

How do I use Human Design?

Your Human Design Chart is calculated using your birth date, time, and place. This
information in return gives you the BodyGraph and reveals amongst other things your:
Type
How you best use your energy
Strategy
How to cultivate aligned opportunities
Authority
How you best make decisions
Emotional theme
How you keep yourself emotionally 'on track'

The system holds a vast amount of information about who we truly are, how we diminish
our resistance to stay authentic to ourselves, and how we truly fulfill our full potential.

Manifestor
( Type )
Manifestors are also called 'The Initiators'. They have an internal non-verbal creative flow.
Their mastery comes from initiating and starting, not always sustaining and
finishing. They get other people going and get the ball rolling.

( Strategy )
Manifestors' Strategy is: "To inform others before taking action." First, they need to
take stock of who is going to be impacted by their actions. Then act...

( Authority )
Manifestors can have one of three kinds of Authority:
Emotional Authority, Ego-Manifested Authority or Splenic Authority

( Emotional Authority )
A Manifestor with an Emotional Authority needs to feel the emotional alignment before
they act. This Authority is the most difficult to connect with because emotional (Solar
Plexus) energy operate in waves. “It has to feel right - over a period of time - to do it.”

( Ego-Manifested Authority )
An Ego-Manifested Authority is dictated by the Will Center which means that Inner
Alignment can happen "in the moment". They don't have to wait before they can take
action, but they often have to "talk things through" before they do.

( Splenic Authority )
The Splenic Authority works on a gut level and is very intuitive. One little 'pip' - often in the
form of fear - indicates if the timing is right or not. There is a lot of ease in this Authority.
There is no waiting, there is no wave. "Right now I am going to do it."

( Emotional Theme )
The Emotional theme of a Manifestor is: ANGER. Anger is a signal that a Manifestor is
not living in alignment with their Strategy. Their internal non-verbal creative flow has
somehow been disrupted. Either somebody disrupted their flow - or they forgot
to inform.

Generator
( Type )
Generators are also called 'The Alchemists'. They are here to work and build. Their
purpose is to do the work of the world and to become masterful at that work. They
transform the things that they respond to into form.

( Strategy )
Generators' Strategy is to: "WAIT to RESPOND." Generators need to 'wait for something' to
show up in their outer reality they can respond to. They are not to create and initiate from
the thoughts in their mind.

( Authority )
Generators can have one of three kinds of Authority:
Sacral Authority, Emotional Authority or Splenic Authority

( Sacral Authority )
The Sacral Authority is the most powerful and works on a gut level. It's an 'in the moment'
response from the Sacral Center that helps the Generator to respond to their outer
reality. There is a lot of ease in this Authority. "This is right for me - or not."

( Emotional Authority )
A Generator with an Emotional Authority needs to feel the emotional alignment before
they act. This Authority is the most difficult to connect with because emotional (Solar
Plexus) energy operate in waves. “It has to feel right - over a period of time - to do it.”

The Emotional theme of a Generator is: FRUSTRATION. Frustration is a signal that a
Generator is not living in alignment with their Strategy. Their frustration comes primarily
from a stair step learning curve on their way to mastery. Their frustration is the build-up of
momentum.

Manifesting Generator
( Type )
ManGens are also called 'The Time Benders'. Their purpose is to shorten the creative
process through learning to align energetically and amplify the speed of which they
create. They turn inspiration into form.

( Strategy )
ManGens' Strategy is to: "WAIT to RESPOND." ManGens need to 'wait for something'
to show up in their outer reality they can respond to. They are not to create and initiate
from the thoughts in their mind.

( Authority )
ManGens can have one of three kinds of Authority:
Sacral Authority, Emotional Authority or Splenic Authority

( Sacral Authority )
The Sacral Authority is the most powerful and works on a gut level. It's an 'in the moment'
response from the Sacral Center that helps the Generator to respond to their outer
reality. There is a lot of ease in this Authority. "This is right for me - or not."

( Emotional Authority )
A ManGen with an Emotional Authority needs to feel the emotional alignment before
they act. This Authority is the most difficult to connect with because emotional (Solar
Plexus) energy operate in waves. “It has to feel right - over a period of time - to do it.”

The Emotional themes of a ManGen are: ANGER & FRUSTRATION. Anger or Frustration is
a signal that a ManGen is not living in alignment with their Strategy. Anger comes from
disruption in their internal non-verbal creative flow. Frustration primarily from a stair step
learning curve on their way to mastery.

Projector
( Type )
Projectors are also called 'The Orchestrators'. They are here to guide, manage and direct
others. Projectors have an innate, natural, instinctive, and intuitive ability to see the
potential of anything they are engaged in.

( Strategy )
Projectors' Strategy is to: "Wait to be invited." Projectors do not have 'initiating energy' and
thus need to be 'recognized for whom they are and invited' into bigger things in life such
as friendships, romance, careers and where to live.

( Authority )
Projectors can have one of three kinds of Authority:
Self-/ Mental Projected Authority, Emotional Authority or
Splenic Authority

( Self-/Mental Projected Authority )

A Projector with a Self-/Mental Projected Authority needs to talk through decisions with
others regarding their 'acceptance or ejection' of an invitation. They don’t need guidance.
They need a "sounding board" of people, they trust to reach clarity.

( Emotional Authority )
A Projector with an Emotional Authority needs to feel the emotional alignment before
they act. This Authority is the most difficult to connect with because emotional (Solar
Plexus) energy operate in waves. “It has to feel right - over a period of time - to do it.”

The Emotional theme of a Projector is: BITTERNESS. Bitterness is a signal that a Projector is
not living in alignment with their Strategy. Causes of bitterness can be tiredness (no
initiating energy) or struggles with their sense of self-worth (no quality invitations).

Reflector
( Type )
Reflectors are also called 'The Calibrators'. Reflectors serve as karmic mirrors for how well
humans are evolving. They reflect the state of well-being of the community they are in.
They have no defined centers or channels in their chart, only gates.

A Reflector's chart might look like this: (gates not colored in on the BodyGraph)

( Strategy )
Reflectors' Strategy is to: "Wait 29 days." Reflectors are to make decisions over a complete
lunar cycle. Depending on what decisions they are making, they might need two or three
lunar cycles before making their decision.

Reflectors can be highly tuned into what is going on around them. Therefore it's important
for them to be in the 'right place at the right time, with the right people'. A close
connection with a handful of people is vital for a Reflector for them to have stability and
to feel good.

The Reflector needs a "sounding board" - people that can listen to them. They don't need
advice. A sounding board, and being in the right place, helps them understand what they
really need and want, and protects them from making the wrong choice - or pressure to
make a choice.

( Authority )
Reflectors do not have any Authority as the other Human Design Types have. They are
'Lunar beings' and have to follow the moon cycle as it moves through the gates in the
chart of the Reflector. The process of the Reflector is thus very slow and very deliberate.

( Emotional Theme )
The Emotional theme of a Reflector is: DISAPPOINTMENT. Disappointment is a signal that
a Reflector is not living in alignment with their Strategy. The cause of disappointment
come from not having taken enough time and/or being forced to make a decision before
they were ready.
